Let's begin today's meditation by clearing away any tension in the body.
Take a moment to come to standing and gently shake out your body,
Wiggling your limbs and feeling loose and relaxed in your joints.
Make sure to include your head,
Neck and shoulders.
When you feel that the body is plenty relaxed,
Let's find our meditative position.
For this meditation,
You may lie down on your back or sit comfortably in a chair or on the floor with crossed legs.
If you are seated,
Align your spine so that the crown of your head reaches up toward the sky,
Floating over the center of your pelvis without lifting your chin.
Feel length and lightness through your spine as you let your shoulders relax down your back.
If you are lying down,
Feel the support of the ground beneath you and let your whole body relax toward the floor.
Today we will practice clearing away negative thoughts and energy so that you can find deep peace and joy within.
This will require that we are very aware of our thoughts as they come and go,
As well as aware of our body and all of its sensation and feelings.
To begin this practice,
Close your eyes and start to check in with yourself.
Notice how you are feeling physically.
Notice how you are feeling emotionally.
Notice how you are feeling mentally.
Notice how you are feeling energetically.
It's okay if you have some negativity in your mind or some bad feelings or pain in your body.
We will work on clearing that out through this meditation.
Start by observing the peaceful flow of your breath.
Notice if your breath feels shallow and constricted anywhere in the body,
Like you are holding on tightly and can't expand or relax.
If so,
Take a deep breath and imagine sending your breath directly to that part of the body.
As you inhale,
Envision that area expanding.
As you exhale,
Envision that area relaxing.
It may take a few times sending breath to an area and expanding and relaxing it to feel that the constriction has released.
Just be patient with this process.
Sending breath to a part of the body is a very healing process.
Although we only have the ability to breathe anatomically with our lungs in the chest,
We can breathe energetically anywhere in the body.
It's easiest to visualize the breath as white light or colored mist if you'd like.
Then we simply take a deep breath and imagine that white light traveling in through the nose,
Down the throat to the lungs,
And then anywhere in the body that we'd like.
This directs blood flow,
Oxygen,
Energy,
And awareness to that specific area of the body.
With practice,
You'll be able to feel the sensation of breath flowing to a part of the body that you wish.
Keep scanning the body for any tension or pain.
If you find an area with negative energy,
Send your breath there.
Expand it with each inhalation.
Let it relax and release deeply with each exhalation.
Now we will focus upon the mind.
Like we practiced in our last meditation,
We can gaze into the mind's eye and clear away any thoughts that appear.
Today,
Imagine your mind as a black chalkboard where words,
Sounds,
And images may appear.
Anytime a negative thought comes up,
Imagine wiping the slate clean and exhaling that thought out of your mind.
Return your awareness to the blank chalkboard of your mind's eye and the gentle flow of your breath.
Watch your thoughts and breathe.
If a negative thought returns,
Clear the slate,
Exhale out the debris,
And come back to a still mind.
Each time you release a negative thought or feeling,
Your body,
Mind,
And heart become lighter,
Freer,
And more filled with joy.
Allow yourself to let go of the negative energy that weighs you down so that you can return to peace and joy.
Finally,
Imagine that there is a negative energy vacuum deep in the earth.
Its magnetic pull draws any negative thoughts,
Feelings,
Or energy down to the ground and out of your body.
Feel the force of gravity as you release this negativity to the earth.
Breathe and watch as you are cleared and cleansed of all negativity.
Return to an ever-expanding sensation of peace and joy within you.
