What if I told you grounding does not require sitting still? For some, stillness quiets the mind. For others, it comes at a cost of turning up thoughts, making sensations stronger, and restlessness that's harder to ignore. If traditional grounding exercises leave you wondering why you cannot do them “correctly,” this gentle practice was created for you. Designed for neurodivergent processors and those experiencing anxiety or ADHD-related restlessness, this exercise uses soft, rhythmic movement to offer your body and attention a sense of safety and predictability, making the breath feel more accessible. You may sit or stand, keep your eyes open, breathe naturally, and move in whatever way feels supportive. You do not have to fight your need to move in order to feel grounded. Sometimes movement is not the distraction—it is the pathway back to steadiness, safety, and the present moment.
