Good morning,
And welcome to your Yoga Nidra practice.
This session is designed to gently wake your body and mind,
Leaving you feeling calm,
Energized and ready to embrace the day ahead with a sense of clarity and purpose.
As we move through this practice,
We will awaken each part of your body,
Slowly bringing your awareness from a state of deep rest into alertness,
While setting powerful intentions to carry with you into the day.
Let's begin by settling into a comfortable position,
Lying on your back.
Feel the support of the surface beneath you,
Allowing your body to fully relax.
Take a deep breath in,
And as you exhale,
Let go of any remaining sleepiness or tension.
Now,
Begin to bring your awareness to your body,
Starting with your feet.
With each exhale,
Imagine them softening,
But also awakening,
Becoming more present in this moment.
Move your focus to your legs,
Feeling them heavy and relaxed,
Yet alert,
Ready to support you through the day.
Shift your awareness to your hips and pelvis.
With each breath,
Feel them relaxing and gently invite a sense of energy into these areas,
Preparing for movement.
Now bring your focus to your abdomen,
Where the breath rises and falls.
Feel your belly expand with each inhale,
Gently awakening your core,
Which supports you in all you do today.
Move up to your chest,
Feeling the gentle rise and fall with each breath.
Imagine this area filling with light energy,
Expanding with each inhale,
Energizing your heart and lungs.
Now shift your awareness to your hands and arms.
Feel them resting,
Yet ready to take action today.
Imagine them filled with a calm strength,
Ready to move and create.
Finally,
Bring your focus to your neck,
Head and face.
Let any tension melt away,
While also inviting a sense of lightness and clarity into your mind,
Ready to approach the day with calm and focus.
Now imagine a tranquil place where you feel completely at ease.
It could be a warm beach,
A peaceful forest,
Or a sunlit garden.
Picture yourself in this setting,
Feeling the gentle energy of morning surrounding you.
Now imagine a tranquil place where you feel completely at ease.
It could be a warm beach,
A peaceful forest,
Or a sunlit garden.
Picture yourself in this setting,
Feeling the gentle energy of morning surrounding you.
Notice the sounds,
The scents,
The light breeze on your skin.
Let this place fill you with peace,
But also with gentle vitality.
This is your sanctuary of calm and energy,
A place where you can find strength and clarity at any time.
Absorb the sensations of this place,
Allowing it to fill you with a deep sense of balance and readiness.
Now,
Gently bring your mind back to your intention for today.
How would you like to move through your day?
Perhaps you want to approach the day with calm,
Focus,
Kindness,
Or productivity.
Silently repeat your intention to yourself three times,
Allowing it to settle into your mind and heart.
Trust in this intention,
Knowing that you are capable of carrying it with you throughout the day.
Begin to slowly bring awareness back to your physical body lying here.
Feel the blanket or sheet draped over you,
The surface beneath you,
And the clothes on your body.
Notice any sounds in the environment around you,
And with your next breath,
Start to gently move your body.
Wiggle your fingers and toes.
Stretch your arms and legs,
Inviting energy back into your muscles.
As you take another breath in,
Feel yourself growing more awake,
More alert,
But still carrying the sense of peace from your practice.
When you feel ready,
Slowly roll onto your right side,
Keeping your eyes closed.
Take a few moments here,
Feeling the gentle transition from your inner practice to full awareness.
When you're ready,
Gently push yourself up into a seated position,
Keeping your eyes closed for a moment longer.
Take one final deep breath in,
And as you exhale,
Slowly open your eyes.
The practice of yoga nidra is now complete.
Take a moment to notice how you feel,
Physically,
Mentally,
And emotionally.
Feel the calm and clarity that this practice has brought you,
And know that you can carry this sense of balance and focus with you into the rest of your day.
Thank you for sharing this time with yourself this morning.
May your day be filled with calm purpose and positive energy.
