Become aware of how you're sitting in your chair and make yourself comfortable making sure your feet are firmly on the floor or uncrossing your arms and legs,
Just making your body comfortable and feeling the support of the chair,
Feeling the support under your thighs,
Becoming aware of the support at your back.
It may take you a few moments to relax as you're letting go of the thoughts of the day and the thoughts of coming here and other things going on and that's fine.
Mind can wander here and there,
Don't be concerned about the thoughts coming and going.
As I'm talking you may focus on my voice or you may drift off to suit yourself.
Increasingly allowing yourself to be relaxed and to come into present moment as much as you can.
Various sounds outside or around us will be happening,
They can be here,
Thoughts can be here.
Just very gently coming into the moment as much as you can and the best way is to focus on the breathing and your awareness of your body.
When you feel like it is taking a couple of slow deep breaths in your own time,
Just gentle breathing and just breathing out any tensions of the day as much as you can.
Becoming aware of your body in terms of perhaps your feet to start with,
Just wriggling your toes,
Being aware of your feet,
Any tensions and all those little bones of the feet which carry us around during the day.
It can help sometimes just to crunch up the muscles of the feet,
Just tighten and release through the arches of the feet,
Perhaps up into the calves,
Any tightness in the calves,
Just tightening and releasing those calf muscles.
Becoming aware of any tensions in the body at all.
Again focusing on just breathing in and breathing out as much as you can,
Breathing out any tensions or concerns.
Becoming aware of how you're feeling through the calf and then the thigh muscles,
Bringing awareness up into the large muscles of the leg and your thighs.
Again if you want to just squeeze and release,
Becoming aware of how you're sitting and releasing,
Tighten and release those muscles so you can release any physical tensions.
Bringing your awareness up into your hips and through the lower back and again just making sure your comfortable,
Maybe to squeeze the buttocks or move a little adjusting your posture.
Any tensions or tightness through the lower back or up into the middle of the back,
Through to the belly.
Just noticing how you're feeling in your body.
Again your thoughts may wander and that's fine.
Breathing in deeply into the abdomen and bringing that breath up into the chest,
Just breathing and just letting that chest open up a little bit.
Breathing in sort of healing or fresh energy with the breath,
Bringing that in,
Letting the chest open up and breathing out.
Just breathing at any tightness,
Any tensions through the back of the shoulders,
Up into the shoulder blades,
The tops of the shoulders.
Is there any tightness at all if you become aware of any?
Maybe just crunch up your shoulders,
Roll them back a little bit.
Just breathing in and relaxing.
And also adjusting your neck posture a little bit,
Just moving your head gently around releasing any tightness through the neck muscles,
Through the throat,
The top of the chest.
And allowing your arms to be relaxed,
Feeling any tensions flowing down your arms,
Maybe wriggling your hands or your wrists,
Any tensions of the day,
Just letting those flow out.
You might like to even visualize being under a pleasant waterfall or warm shower,
Just washing away any tensions of the day,
Any concerns.
Allowing your face muscles to be relaxed,
Moving your jaw around,
Feeling your tongue being a little relaxed in your mouth.
Allowing the eyelids just to be gently,
Softly closed.
Any concerns or worries?
Again you can imagine under a warm shower or a nice light just bathing your head,
Washing those away from your forehead,
Top of your head.
Again using your breath,
Just breathing in and sighing out any tensions or concerns,
Just breathing those out,
Just gentle breaths,
Sighing out any concerns.
Allowing yourself to become more present to your feelings right now,
Who you are right now,
Where you're sitting.
Coming aware of the feelings in your body,
Emotions you've been experiencing perhaps.
Not pushing down any feelings or thoughts,
Just welcoming all the feelings and thoughts in your body,
Your mind,
Your heart.
Everything can be here in the present moment,
In your awareness.
Just allow every thought or feeling to be here.
You don't have to push anything away now,
We can just feel,
Be afraid of feeling and just letting those feelings bubble up.
Breathing into any feelings or thoughts,
Again relaxing into those,
Into your soul.
Just watching any judgments you might have,
Any judgments of the mind.
They can be here to open to yourself more and more in the next few moments.
Allowing the thoughts and feelings to be here like clouds in the sky,
Just gently flowing through us,
Giving them space,
Giving space to all your thoughts and sensations.
Breathing and relaxing into yourself.
Allowing the thoughts and feelings to be here like clouds in the sky,
Just gently flowing through us,
Giving them space,
Giving space to all your thoughts and sensations.
Breathing and relaxing into yourself.
Allowing the thoughts and feelings to be here like clouds in the sky,
Just gently flowing through us,
Giving them space,
Giving space to all your thoughts and sensations.
Breathing and relaxing into yourself.
Allowing the thoughts and feelings to be here like clouds in the sky,
Just gently flowing through us,
Giving them space,
Giving them space.
Allowing the thoughts and feelings to be here like clouds in the sky,
Just gently flowing through us,
Giving them space,
Giving them space,
Giving them space.
Allowing the thoughts and feelings to be here like clouds in the sky,
Just gently flowing through us,
Giving them space,
Giving them space,
Giving them space.
Allowing the thoughts and feelings to be here like clouds in the sky,
Just gently flowing through us,
Giving them space,
Giving them space.
A minute or two,
Just gently coming back to the present moment.
And to your body,
Wriggling your toes again and having a little stretch in your own time,
Just very gently coming back to your normal everyday consciousness,
To the room,
Just very slowly in your own time,
Coming back.

Wonderfully accepting of things the mind does - getting distracted by thoughts and judgments - that most meditation guides tell you to avoid. I found this accepting approach actually made it easier for me not to get caught up in thinking or judging!
