Find a comfortable position for your body,
Taking some fuller breaths through the lungs,
Turning up through your spine,
Letting the body move freely a little bit through the shoulders,
The hands,
The head.
Feel the joy of the inhale,
The exhale.
Let the body move any way that it's asking for today.
Let the face soften and the smile spread through the cheeks.
You might sense the joy of breathing.
Remember to just trust the process.
Thoughts are allowed to move.
This is really our practice of allowing things to have their natural cycles,
Letting go of unnecessary tensions and judgments about how you are right here.
The back softens,
The belly opens.
As you sink heavier into your seat,
And then bringing attention to the muscles of the face,
Starting with the jaw,
And we start to spread smiling energy through the jaw and cheeks,
Untangling the little tensions through your face,
Through the skin,
The muscles,
And the joints of your cheeks,
Mouth.
Start to soften all around your eyeballs,
Using your breath to clear out any tight energy,
Sinking the eyeballs into the back of the skull,
And smiling through the eye muscles.
Apply an actual smile through your cheeks and the outside of the eyes,
Pressing this energy more into the face,
Exploring the muscles of the smile around the eyes and into the forehead.
At least two more minutes here where we're holding the smile,
The slight effort into the cheeks,
The eyes,
And the smiling energy into the forehead,
Temples,
And scalp,
Smiling.
One more minute of smiling.
Smile through all the muscles of your scalp,
Neck,
Face,
And use your big clearing breaths to release the energy that gets dislodged and replaced with smiling energy.
You can let go of any effort and just keep a soft smile through the cheeks.
Continue to soften muscles of the forehead and draw that energy down into the heart space.
As you breathe in and out of the heart,
A returning home to the center of your being.
Take a big smiling breath into your belly.
It might feel nice today to conclude with the palms in prayer.
And we formally conclude here,
But take a bit of extra time.
Take an extra minute.
Just to feel the echoes of your practice,
The joy of your being,
The joy of your inner space,
Your natural smiling energy before moving into the rest of your week.
