This meditation will help you welcome in and experience those energies that the base chakra uses. By clearing and refreshing the energies in your base you will feel more grounded, energised, and have more clarity in your thoughts and throughout your day.

Hello and welcome.

In this meditation we're going to further explore what it means to be grounded and more importantly how we can hold and ground these energies within our body and carry them forward in our day to day.

Having explored the concept of growing our roots and connecting to the earth energy,

I would now like to explore and welcome you too as well how through our own energetic body we can incorporate these energies and walk with them,

Use them and hold them steady.

Like a house or any building,

Its integrity,

Its strength comes from the foundation,

That from which it is built upon.

In our energetic body we have the chakras and the first main one of which is the base chakra of the colour red and that's located just at the bottom of your spine.

This is the seat and holds the feelings of how we relate to our physical safety,

Our fight or flight as some might call it.

How strong and connected and more importantly fluid we feel in the energy we hold in this space is the foundation for all of our other energy centres.

Just like a child for we are no different as adults,

If we are to flourish,

Blossom and capture our own gifts and talents we must first have a safe environment to be able to explore ourselves in.

Now obviously as a person and indeed as a people,

Humans can be seen to have a lot of blocks in this area and talking from personal experience,

Work done and clearing done in this area energetically and emotionally leads the way for a solid and firm foundation.

Fight or flight is merely a response and can be brought into your conscious control.

For example,

It may seem silly,

If you have a phobia of bananas,

Not to say that you do of course,

That could make you want to fight the banana or flee from it.

How do you control that response?

How do you become aware of what's happening?

One of the easiest ways is to bring your intent and your focus to clearing and working with this chakra.

The word chakra in Sanskrit means wheel and in that sense what can be taken from this is that it is not a static thing and therefore it is not a static relationship that you have with it.

It is ever flowing and the more we clear the deeper we go but much like our talents and our potential this is its own reward as the deeper we go and the more we clear the more strength we receive.

The colour red associated with blood,

Raw life energy for which it is.

This chakra is also associated with your sexual energy at a base level.

Being able to move fluidly in this energy allows you to be fluid in your life again because you are strong.

This you must know,

You are strong.

We are all strong.

I am strong.

It's okay to say this to yourself,

I am strong for you are.

Now we are just going to take some time here just to nourish this relationship with yourself and this part of yourself,

This foundation by focusing on the energy of this chakra.

So whether you are lying,

Sitting,

On a chair or on the floor as always we are going to use our breath.

Our breath as a guide,

Our breath as the tide,

The in through the nose and the out.

In and out.

In and out.

Using your breath as a guide and letting it come to its own natural rhythm.

We are just going to bring our mind and our attention to the base of our spine.

Following my voice and using your imagination on whatever you see or feel just being guided by your own processes.

We are just going to imagine a spinning red coloured disc or a flower or a shape.

Be guided here by whatever works best for you.

We are just going to observe it.

Noticing the colour.

Perhaps you might not notice it red at all,

Perhaps it might be dark,

Perhaps it might be misshapen.

These are not judgements for this is what we have brought our attention here to witness.

Still breathing in and out.

Now on the out,

In breath sorry.

We are going to imagine that we are drawing in a red light.

Seeing it come in front of you.

Breathing it in,

Feeling it go down your throat,

Through your nostrils,

Down your throat,

Into your lungs,

Past your stomach and being fed into this red wheel at the bottom of your spine.

With each breath in the colour and vitality of this red wheel increases,

Nourishing and helping it shine bright and feeling that warmth and support in this area.

And then on the out breath,

Breathing out from this area at the bottom of our spine.

Breathing out any darkness,

Any tension that might exist or that might have been residing within this wheel.

And just setting up this cycle that we are going to power with our breath and our intent.

Breathing in,

Nourishing that disc or flower or whatever you may see it and breathing out.

Any tension and simply setting the intent I release whatever does not serve me anymore.

Breathing in the intention,

I nourish my base so that I may have a strong foundation.

And breathing out,

I release anything that does not serve me anymore.

Just keeping this cycle up with your breath.

Observing calmly any thoughts or feelings that might come up.

And just using your breath as your guide.

And now as we're coming to the end,

Just really breathing in and breathing out.

Really nourishing with that red light to the chakra at the bottom of your spine and really letting go on the out-breath too.

And now as we've nourished and using the visualization that was good for you,

Just going to calmly bring our attention to our base chakra.

Seeing the difference,

Feeling the difference.

Perhaps noticing that that flow of energy has increased.

That area feels a little bit lighter,

Perhaps more relaxed.

And if it doesn't that's okay too.

So imagining a flower or the disc,

We're just going to slowly calm that flow of energy as if we're closing the petals of a flower.

Slowly,

Just closing.

And I like to imagine the petals of a flower closing but just left slightly open.

Just ever so slightly.

And just in your imagination,

Just placing a golden ball of energy at this opening.

Just for protection.

So that any energy that leaves or enters passes through and you know that you are flowing freely in this area and that you are protected.

And just taking a few breaths just to experience how this area feels.

Now it's been refreshed and calmed and that flow has increased.

Now before we open our eyes and come back to our bodies.

I just welcome you to give some thanks and some gratitude to you.

You may like to put your hands in a prayer position in front of your heart and this is just for you.

Just directing that thanks and that gratitude.

You know it's not easy this and you're perhaps braver than you realise.

For as we all know there's a massive world outside to explore and explorers and adventurers are applauded daily.

But the world inside is just as vast and equally just as light and just as scary.

And I offer my thanks to you for what you do now and the clearing that you undertake is for your benefit and of all the people in your lives will benefit from this too as they see you,

As they notice you and so does the earth.

And I give thanks not only to myself but all of you for you are brave and you are strong and in that you are stable and your foundation is good.

So now perhaps as I'm sure you're getting used to just perhaps wriggling your fingers,

Wriggling your toes,

Rubbing your hands on your belly or your chest perhaps and just ever so slowly in your own time coming back to the room you're in and just allowing that knowledge and that experience to flow gently as you open your eyes and you come back to the groundness of your body and the feeling of presence in the physical.

Thank you for your gentle yet powerful, well paced and beautiful ‚instruction‘ on strenghtening the base chakra. I am very grateful for this as I‘m experiencing my base chakra as shredded/colourless/compromised by a number of experiences which I obviously haven‘t dealt with/let go of successfully. I feel that this may be the reason for the intense impact this meditation keeps having - I‘ll keep coming back until colour and shape and consistency feel stable.
