A lovely time of the year to dream about the festive snow. Let's prepare for a dream all about the great white snow. How snowflakes are all different but come together and make lots of fun time for children to explore their creativity through play.

Welcome to this guided sleep story meditation called the story of snowflakes.

Please get comfortable sitting on your bed.

Prepare your pillow.

Give your pillow a good squeeze and make it really fluffy.

Then into your bed.

Wrap yourself in comfort and sink your head into that fluffy pillow.

Let's begin.

Please close one eye at the count of seven.

Please close the next eye at the count of five.

Good.

Let's begin the story of snowflakes.

Most children can even smell it in the air.

The snow clouds that all look like Santa's white fluffy beard.

Yes,

The snow clouds are coming.

And when it snows,

It's like slow motion.

Like slow motion white raindrops.

Flake by flake and flake by flake.

Snowflakes.

All of them different of course.

A bit like us.

Different.

But when all the snowflakes come together,

They make many wonderful things.

You can always check if a snowflake is real too by catching one on your tongue of which it should melt and disappear like magic.

All snowflakes like it nice and cold so they can build together and bring forward snow gains for all the children who are yet to grow up into adults.

Snowflakes know they are special and full of fun.

They give you hints by dropping onto things such as the postbox has now got a big tall white hat on it.

Made of snow of course.

Fences and walls look like a dollop of icing sugar has landed right on the very top of them.

The winter birds leave a footprint in the new snow.

Dogs and cats pattern the new snow with four paws wherever they go.

Big feet and little feet.

Big walkers,

Little walkers.

It's all in the snow.

Bicycle tyres and cars leave a pattern like a long candy strip.

Why at night is it still so bright?

For it seems to be bright with white here and there and under and over and behind and in front.

Snow lights up this festive month of the year.

Some adults have lost their interest in snow.

Some of the elders find it too slippery,

Too cold.

But help is at hand from little hands.

For all the neighbours have got too much snow and cannot walk out their front door.

Sometimes the snow really wants to help.

For it's all about this festive time of the year and Christmas needs to arrive on time.

So the snowflakes whisper to all the children to help them become something spectacular.

For others this was work but for children this was serious playtime.

Lots of gardens and paths to the front needed clearing so the elders could walk easily outside.

Well,

Little hands make really good snowballs.

And a snow ball can be rolled and rolled,

Getting bigger and bigger whilst clearing the pathways too.

When balancing snowballs to make each neighbour a snowman,

The snowman whispers in all the children's ears,

Bring me a life please.

Carrots for the noses,

Twigs for the arms,

A scarf for the neck.

Stones or coal for buttons.

Some had hats too of course.

But still too much snow.

So more snowballs are to be turned into other things.

Help from the children that listen to the snowflakes.

One neighbour hadn't got a festive Christmas tree.

So a big one made of snow would be made instead.

Simply building and building your big pile of triangular snow together.

Children work and play together and add snow branches and find some fairy lights to wrap around it once it is done.

And so comes alive a Christmas tree pure white.

Then make those snow angels all around it.

Remember you simply drop backwards onto the snow.

Then flap the arms and flap the legs for the magic shape of snow that snowflakes make into angels.

Then the birds of this festive time of year would get a treat.

Snow bird tables,

Again many snowballs built together would make a great bird table.

Then faults of doing and igloo.

So practicing and building the snowballs,

Making a big round snowball,

Empty inside of course.

And a few snow ride paths to slide on where most children go out to play.

This involved adding a little water to freeze a layer of ice on top to create a mini icy slide.

Then to make names in snow,

Again making many snowballs and push them together to make letters to form their names.

Can you see your name in snow?

Soon everything will look like a toy town.

Snowflake is white,

Tidy and fun.

Everyone has got a snowman.

And there's still time to do more things with the snow.

Snowflakes are a bit like sand and sand castles.

So explore,

Create some more snowy things to make.

Perhaps your sand bucket could make snow castles.

And the wonderful making of paper into snowflake shapes.

And hang your paper white snowflakes from the window.

Or hang them near your bed.

Then look at it all in daylight.

End by moonlight,

For it still shines bright and white.

Maybe you can dream of a snow hill ride.

Throw snowballs at each other.

Play hide and seek.

Create more new shapes.

I think you can dream a lot about snowflakes.

So please snuggle down.

And rest upon the fluffy pillow.

And dream in white spectacular.

Dream of white wonderland.

White snow adventure.

Dream and go to sleep.

Dream all night about the great white snow.

The snowflakes.

Sleep well and good night.
