Good people,

I am Dr.

Sekou Gathers,

Host of the Truth Prescription Podcast and welcome to the Power Breath Exercise slash Meditation.

This is a great exercise because anywhere at any time you can give yourself a super large dose of energy.

And this can be completed in less than two and a half minutes.

So you don't need caffeine,

You don't need five hour energy drinks.

And I've used it before on the train,

I've used it before going into work,

I've used it just in the morning.

Really anytime you feel like you need a boost,

A large boost of physical energy,

It's a great exercise.

So I'm going to try to explain the technique.

There's a very small learning curve,

But once you get it and you practice,

It will be effortless and easy.

So the first step is to occlude your left nostril with your left forefinger.

The second step is to take ten short bursts of air into your right nostril while your left nostril is occluded.

It sounds something like this.

After the tenth breath,

You hold in the air for approximately ten seconds.

After the ten seconds is up,

You breathe out with ten short bursts of air out the same right nostril.

It will sound like this coming out.

So the whole sequence will go something like this.

And this will be done ten times.

So take a listen.

And that's one cycle.

If you have a cold or nasal stuffiness,

You can inhale the best you can through your nostril.

And as an alternative,

It's okay to blow out through your mouth.

Just make sure you blow through pursed lips,

As pursing your lips increases the pressure and enhances the flow of oxygen.

So starting right now,

We're going to go through the entire cycle.

And just as a guide,

I'll do the first round with you.

And then subsequent to that,

I will just count.
