This course uses fun games to teach mindfulness meditation and relaxation breathing techniques to children aged 3-10 years old. Through play, your child will learn how to observe their mind, connect to their bodies, and calm themselves down. Each of the five sessions introduces a new game or activity that will teach them both the principles and techniques of meditation, as well as the knowledge of how and when to use them in their everyday lives; in response to overwhelm, as a part of a bedtime routine, or perhaps when they are angry, over excited, or facing disappointment. Listen and practice these games with your child. This will give you both a shared ‘meditation language’ – words and phrases to be used in the home, or out and about when needed, that will prompt them to take a breath, refocus, and regulate. When playing these games, encourage the laughter, jokes, and mucking around that will inevitably arise. This course will make meditation fun, and when something is fun, children are far more likely to practice and remember the lessons contained within. This course will give your child the groundwork for a lifetime of self-discovery, emotional resilience, clarity of thought, and calm. Welcome to the course, it’s time to play!

Silent Sneaky Superheroes
In this session, you will be introduced to the 'Silent Sneaky Superheroes' game. You will need a partner and an empty room, hallway, or some space outside to play. This game will teach you how to practice calm breathing and help foster mindful awareness of sound, movement, and proprioception... plus, it is super fun!

Cook The Spaghetti
In this session, you will be introduced to the 'Cook The Spaghetti' game. To play, you will need some space on the ground or in a bed to lie down. This game will teach you how to practice full-body progressive muscle relaxation, as well as help to foster mind-body connection... a great technique to use before bed or in response to tension or overwhelm.

Find Your Feelings
In this session, you will be introduced to the 'Find Your Feelings' game, also known as 'Internal Hide And Seek', where you will be encouraged to scan your body for any hidden thoughts, emotions, moods, memories, or feelings. This game will teach you how to practice calm breathing and body scanning and help foster mindful awareness of your ever-changing inner world. This is a useful game to play following a stressful day or after a significant life event.

Eyeball Wars
In this session, you will be introduced to the 'Eyeball Wars' game. To play, you will need a partner, as well as some space to sit across from one another. This game will teach you how to practice mindful observation, calm breathing, and focused attention... you can choose to play this with or against someone, or even with yourself (just get a mirror!).

Finger Breathing
In this session, you will be introduced to the 'Finger Breathing' technique, as well as given a recap of all of the previous games and activities. This technique is a portable, engaging, and quick way to ground yourself in the present moment and calm down... a very useful way to bring mindfulness meditation into your everyday life!
