Welcome.
My name is Evangelos.
I'm a Dharma teacher and founder of Four Ways to Freedom.
We're going to be doing a planetary meditation.
The planet could use that,
That almost 8 billion people on the planet could use it.
Interestingly,
This is one of Einstein's favorite meditations that he used to do.
So to start this meditation,
Please find a comfortable seated position or laying down.
We want you to be relaxed and natural.
You can start by scanning your body,
Looking for the tense parts,
Looking for where you're holding on to anxiety,
And just letting gravity do her work.
And a good way to release the tension,
To release the knots,
Is to bring breath into those parts of the body that you're holding on to.
You don't need to do anything with the breath.
Just allow it to be natural and easy without effort.
So we're scanning the body,
We're tuning into our natural breath.
See if you can hear your own breath.
Make the switch from I am breathing in and out to the universe is breathing me in and out,
That you are a witness to this miracle.
You don't even have to try and breathe,
You're already breathing,
You are being breathed.
It's happening on its own naturally.
You are receiving breath,
You are giving breath.
Feel your spaciousness.
And as you're breathing,
As you are being breathed,
Imagine that your mind,
Your consciousness starts to float above you and rises above through the room,
Up above the roof,
Into the sky and into outer space and look down on Earth and all that is happening.
Look down on your own body and life and friends and family.
Look down at the entire planet.
Can you imagine everyone walking around with a brave heart that doesn't close so easily?
What would that feel like to have an entire planet where our hearts are open,
Where our hearts are generous,
Where we share our resources?
What kind of world would we be living in then if we shared our love and our compassion without holding on to hurts,
Our hurts and the hurts of others?
Imagine if you're dwelling up above in outer space,
United with universal consciousness.
Can you see how small Earth is compared to an entire universe?
So many of these struggles are unnecessary.
And repeat three times for the planet,
Please heal in us what needs to be healed.
Please teach us what we need to learn.
Please heal in us what needs to be healed.
Please teach us what we need to learn and let it trail off slowly.
Please heal in us what needs to be healed.
Please teach us what we need to learn.
And letting that mantra please heal in us what needs to be healed,
Please teach us what we need to learn.
In on Earth.
And then slowly and gently falling back down,
Swaying like a feather.
Relaxing,
Settling,
Connecting again to your body and to your breath.
May all beings be well and happy and free of their struggles.
And may we learn to live in harmony and peace with one another.
May we live in peace with ourselves.
Feel your body again.
Feel your breath.
Wiggle your fingers and toes.
And be here now.
Namaste.
