Welcome,
My name is Evangelos.
I'm a Dharma teacher and one of the founders of Four Ways to Freedom.
We're going to do a sleep meditation today to help you relax and find your center before you go to bed,
Before you take a nap.
So make sure you're comfortable,
Not holding onto any tension in your body.
Just letting gravity relax you into this moment,
Not holding any tension.
Letting breath fill your body,
Imagining that the breath is spreading to the furthest parts of your body,
Like your fingertips and your toes.
And to start this meditation,
I'm going to invite you to go back in time a little bit to the morning of your day.
To review your day,
You don't need to try really hard,
Just receiving some of the memories of the day from the time that you woke up.
How did you start your day?
Did you start it the way you actually wanted to start it?
Did you start it with a healthy,
Positive habit?
Not beating yourself up,
But being kind to yourself,
Just noticing,
Reminding yourself maybe tomorrow you might want to wake up in a different way.
Just going through your day,
Through your activities from the time you woke up until the time you went to bed.
Whatever arises,
You acknowledge it,
You accept it,
You let it go.
Acknowledging,
Accepting,
Letting go,
There's nothing to do now.
You've lived your day.
You've learned from the day,
Acknowledging,
Accepting,
Letting go,
Acknowledging where you might have wasted energy or been unkind to someone or to yourself,
Accepting that because that's all you can do,
And then just letting it go.
Tomorrow is a new day.
Let go of the day and remember that you did your best.
You're always doing your best,
As best as you can in that moment.
And by reviewing,
We simply send a message to ourselves to rewrite the habitual script of our lives.
Whatever happened can't be changed.
It's all a learning opportunity.
You met people,
You had conversations,
Things happened,
And it's all gone now.
Continuously letting go,
Acknowledge,
Accept,
Let go,
Acknowledging,
Accepting,
Letting go.
Don't dwell on things.
Watch your breath and consciously and gracefully fall into sleep mode.
It's your time to rest,
To renew,
To recharge.
Let nature and time do all the work.
You don't need to fight your own mind.
You don't need to fight your own emotions.
You're learning to become a better version of yourself.
And day by day by day you are.
How you go to bed matters.
How you talk to yourself before bedtime matters.
So be kind to yourself and keep letting go.
Every morning we wake up is a new opportunity to live a different life,
A peaceful life,
A nonreactive life.
Just rest.
Relax.
And let go.
May you have peace throughout your sleep.
Namaste.
