In this meditation, we use a mantra to let go of our hurts and the hurts of others. Forgiveness is giving the past back to the past. We do forgiveness work so that unresolved past hurts don’t take over the present moment.

Welcome,

My name is Evangelos.

Today we're going to be doing a forgiveness meditation.

If you look at the word forgiving,

If you break it down,

You're for,

Pro,

Giving,

Generosity.

And what we're doing with forgiveness work is giving the past back to the past so it doesn't influence or affect the present moment.

We have all made mistakes and we have all been hurt by others.

So to start this meditation,

I'm going to invite you to find a comfortable seated or laying down position and tune into your breath and how it expands and contracts your heart.

And imagine in the center of the chest,

The center of your heart,

A rose quartz color glowing like the color of a Himalayan rock salt lamp.

A pink peach orange glow that has the quality of kindness to yourself.

If you can't visualize the color,

Stay with the feeling of that warm pink peach glow at the heart.

And imagine yourself prior to this moment where you might have made a mistake or been unkind.

And first we're going to do some forgiveness work for ourselves where you imagine yourself in the past,

Recent or really far back in your past.

Saying the mantra,

I forgive you,

I forgive me,

I forgive us.

You're forgiving yourself in this moment now because you're holding onto it.

This means letting go,

Giving the past back to the past where it belongs and just taking life and life's mishaps as learning opportunities.

You can even imagine yourself at a younger age saying,

I forgive you,

I forgive me,

I forgive us.

I forgive you,

I forgive me,

I forgive us.

I forgive me,

I forgive us.

It often helps to do forgiveness work for our parents.

We can often hold lifelong grudges towards our parents.

We can never do enough forgiveness work with and for our parents who are also holding onto their parents' grudges.

Seeing your mother sitting in a chair with a kind look on her face and saying it for your mother,

I forgive you,

I forgive me,

I forgive us.

I forgive you,

I forgive me,

I forgive us.

I forgive you,

I forgive me,

I forgive us.

Remember you're forgiving yourself also for holding onto it even if you feel you've never done anything wrong to your mom.

You're doing the forgiveness work for you,

For her,

And all the women that came before her because our parents truly try their best to help us survive,

To be decent and kind human beings.

They help us to the best of their ability in that moment.

And then imagining your father sitting in a chair doing the forgiveness mantra for him,

I forgive you,

I forgive me,

I forgive us.

I forgive you,

I forgive me,

I forgive us.

I forgive you,

I forgive me,

I forgive us.

And say goodbye to your parents and saying it for anyone that might have wronged you recently or you feel that you've been holding onto a grudge to release your anger,

To release your hurts allows more freedom and spaciousness and love to come into your heart.

So saying it for the more difficult or challenging people in your life,

I forgive you,

I forgive me,

I forgive us.

I forgive you,

I forgive me,

I forgive us.

I forgive you,

I forgive me,

I forgive us.

Say it over and over and over again as much as you can.

I forgive you.

I forgive me.

I forgive us.

So imagine a generator in your heart like an old mill that used to move water in a water wheel on a river or a lake and imagine that mantra is in that generator and letting that mantra move in that generator so it's moving all day long doing work when you're busy doing other things.

I forgive you.

I forgive me.

I forgive us.

I forgive you.

I forgive me.

I forgive us.

And just let it all dissolve into your heart.

And simply rest there for a moment and let the forgiveness work,

The mantra,

The wheel in your heart work all day long in the background.

Namaste.
