Welcome to this new moon yoga nidra practice by follow your chakra.
During the new moon,
The moon sits between the sun and earth blocking out the light of the sun.
During this period of darkness,
We are invited to reflect on new beginnings.
The moon has power over the oceans,
Tides,
Plants,
And human energy cycles as well.
In order to fully feel the energy of the new moon,
We will rotate consciousness around the body.
As I name each part of the body,
Feel it energetically but remain still.
Beginning at the feet,
Feel both feet at the same time.
Bottoms of the feet,
Big toes,
Second toes,
Third toes,
Fourth toes,
And fifth toes.
Second toes,
Third toes,
Fourth toes,
And fifth toes.
Top of the feet,
Ankles,
Lower legs,
Knees,
Upper legs,
Hips,
Lower belly,
Lower back,
Mid belly,
Mid back,
Lower ribs.
Chest,
Upper back,
The whole heart space.
Shoulders,
Upper arms,
Elbows,
Lower arms,
Wrists,
Thumbs,
Both hands,
Second fingers,
Third fingers,
Fourth fingers,
Fifth fingers.
Back of the hands,
Wrists,
Lower arms,
Elbows,
Upper arms,
Shoulders,
Throat,
Neck,
Jaw,
Ears,
Forehead.
Crown of the head,
Back of the head,
Eyebrows,
Eyelids,
Eyes,
Cheeks,
Nose,
Nostrils,
Upper lip,
Lower lip.
Inside of the mouth,
Tongue,
Back of the throat,
Chin,
The whole body,
The whole body together.
Invite the feeling of heaviness,
The whole body sinking like a rock.
Heavy.
So heavy you can't move a finger.
Heavy.
Invite the feeling of heaviness.
Invite the feeling of lightness.
So light.
Like floating on air.
So light you drift away.
Lightness.
The body is floating.
It's so light.
Invite the feeling of emptiness.
Your heart feels empty.
You feel this lack.
This emptiness.
So empty.
Invite the feeling of gratitude.
Your heart becomes so full of everything you love and appreciate.
So grateful.
Full of gratitude.
As I move through the next set of visuals,
Allow yourself to fully feel and imagine each one as I say it,
But release it as we move on to the next.
Remind yourself that you are going to stay awake and listen to the sound of my voice.
Begin by picturing yourself in complete darkness.
The ocean tides.
Plants growing.
Fresh air.
Clean sheets.
Rich soil.
Running stream.
Crackling fire.
A new beginning.
Trust.
Change.
Desire.
Abundance.
Trust.
Trust.
Trust.
Imagine,
Feel,
And know that you are now lying in a field at dusk on a warm blanket.
As the sun sets,
The meadow becomes darker.
You feel safe here.
As you look up,
You don't see the moon.
Only misty clouds and stars peeking through.
The North Star is the brightest thing in the sky.
You see dark,
Tall pine trees poking through towards the stars.
You decide to get up and start walking through the meadow,
Following the North Star.
Though it is dark,
You have a warm ball of golden light glowing in your palm to light the way if you need it.
It helps you feel safe in the darkness.
You walk towards the pines and into the forest.
Down a path,
You see lit candles along the way,
Inviting you forward.
As you come closer to them,
You see that each one of them has written the things that you are deeply grateful for.
You look at each one and feel the gratitude fill your heart.
As you do,
The light in your palm also glows warmer and brighter.
As you continue down the path,
You see an inviting cabin at the end.
You walk toward it.
As you step up to the wooden door,
You see it is open,
So you go inside.
The cabin has a fireplace inside and comfy chairs and blankets.
You use the golden light of gratitude in your hand to ignite the fireplace.
Soon it is glowing bright and warm.
You take a seat in one of the chairs.
As you gaze into the fire,
You allow it to calm and relax you as it crackles and burns.
You notice a journal beside you and a pen.
You begin to write down all of the things that no longer serve you.
Things that you would like to release into the fire.
As you identify each one,
You write it down on a piece of paper and toss it into the fire.
With each release,
The fire allows these to turn into smoke,
Taking them away from you and toward the sky.
Fully releasing everything that holds you back from achieving a life of fulfilling your true desires.
Once you have released everything that no longer serves you,
The fire glows its warmest and brightest.
You invite this fire into your heart space.
And it ignites deep within you your deepest,
Innermost desire for your life.
This is your Sankalpa.
You begin to feel it as if it were already true.
State it now silently as an I am statement.
Write it down on the piece of paper three times and see it manifests as your own handwriting.
Hold that paper up to your heart.
It ignites like a tiny flame.
Hold it there as you get up and leave the cabin behind.
Continuing down the path you came.
The candles along the path have been blown out,
So you reignite them once again using this ember of desire at your heart.
And as you reach each candle,
You repeat your sankalpa,
Your deepest desire,
Knowing that you can return to this cabin any time to release and renew your intentions.
As you continue down the path out of the forest,
You feel pure,
Clear energy and trust that you will achieve this desire.
You feel a sense that there will be a fresh start and you embrace the change that is about to come.
You reach the edge of the forest and come into the clearing,
Feeling clear on your dreams and desires,
Knowing you will see them manifest very soon.
Looking behind you,
You see the North Star twinkling in the sky and are reminded to follow this any time you need clarity in the darkness.
The same light,
This burning ember,
The little fire inside your heart is the same fire that burns in the heavens,
Ignites the stars and leads the way.
You carry this with you always.
You sit or lie down once again on the earth and begin to bring your awareness back into the space where you reside in the room.
Feel your body's contact with the ground or surface beneath you.
Allow a deep cleansing breath to fill the lungs and exhale release.
Begin to bring movement back into the body or allow yourself to drift off to sleep.
The practice of Yoga Nidra is now complete.
Namaste.
