
Chakra Yoga Nidra
This Yoga Nidra is chakra inspired. It includes a rotation of consciousness, quick visualizations and long visualization with sankalpa. The long visualization takes you into the forest and to a pond to discover your sankalpa. It is designed to be used during the day.

Welcome to this chakra inspired guided yoga ninja practice by follower chakra.
Bring yourself into a comfortable position on your back.
Place a blanket under your head and over your body.
Let your arms rest by your body.
Let your eyes close and settle into their sockets.
Allow your palms to face up and fingers to relax while your feet walk out.
As we move through this practice of yoga nidra,
All you have to do is listen to the sound of my voice.
If you drift off,
Come back when you remember.
Bring your awareness to the movement of your breath through the body.
As the inhales expand the lungs from the belly into the ribs and finally into the chest.
Watch the breath as it fills through the base of your spine and travels up through your crown.
Continue picturing the breath as it moves through the body from root to crown.
We will begin by taking in the most distant sounds that you hear.
Things outside the room.
Move to the sounds closer to you in the room.
And finally your attention comes to rest on the sounds within your own body.
As we begin the practice of yoga nidra,
Tell yourself you are going to stay awake and listen to the sound of my voice.
We will begin moving our consciousness into different areas of the body using light.
If you can't see it or feel it,
You can silently repeat back the body parts as you hear it.
We will use a golden light of healing.
Visualize this golden light of healing as it seeps in through the bottoms of your feet.
Watch it wrap around the soles of your feet into your heels and slide over the tops of your feet and across all ten toes until the feet are bathed in golden healing light.
See the light spread into the ankles and move up the shins and around the legs into the calves.
It spreads into your kneecaps and wraps all the way up your legs into the thighs and hamstrings.
Let the light soak both of your legs from top to bottom glowing a golden light.
Move the light to your hips and fill them with this golden healing light.
Bring your awareness to the base of the spine and draw the light up the center of your spine until it reaches the sacrum.
Let the light shine and spread until it fills the whole pelvic bowl.
Move and spread the light into the lower back and abdomen.
From the waist down you are filled with healing golden light.
The golden light shines out from your lower ribs now and fills the lungs,
Rib cage and heart space.
Healing light fills the heart.
The light moves up the chest and into the throat filling the neck and spilling onto the shoulders.
Watch as it falls down the upper arms and spills onto the elbows,
Pooling and filling into the forearms.
The golden healing light fills the wrists and spreads into the palms of the hands.
Let the light shine through the thumb,
Second finger,
Third finger,
Fourth finger and fifth finger until both hands are bathed in healing golden light.
The light circles back around the hand,
Wrists,
Forearms and elbows,
Swirls toward the back of the upper arms and shoulders coming once again to the back of the neck.
Watch as the light comes into the base of the skull beginning to fill the entire brain with healing golden light.
It shines into all levels of consciousness bringing clarity and healing.
Allow the light to spread into the crown of the head bringing healing light over the forehead and shining between the eyebrows.
The light washes over the cheeks,
Jaw,
Ears,
Into your nose,
Nostrils,
Lips,
Chin and the whole back of your head.
Feel the whole body now glowing with healing golden light.
The whole body healed with the golden light.
Bring your awareness to the base of your spine and as you inhale watch the light move up to the crown of the head and as you exhale it drops back down.
Begin to count back from 28.
Inhale rises and falls,
28.
Inhale to crown,
Exhale to root,
27.
If you lose count just start again at 28.
Let go of the counting now.
It does not matter where you got to or left off.
Remember that you are going to stay awake as we move through a visualization of opposites.
Allow your mind to rest on the idea only until you hear the next.
Awaken the feeling of heaviness.
You feel so heavy.
Sinking into the floor.
Heavy.
Bones heavy.
Muscles heavy.
The whole body heavy.
Now awaken the feeling of being light.
Like you could lift right off the floor.
So light you drift away.
Your body is weightless.
So light.
Feel what it is like to be in fear now.
Fearful and afraid.
Now awaken the feeling of joy.
Joy is filling you.
Every part of you.
Full of joy.
Joy.
Picture your feet in the sand.
The idea of home.
A red rose.
Juicy orange.
Flowing river.
Mother's hands.
Warm sun on your face.
Laughing friends.
Winning a game.
A shining emerald.
Holding a puppy.
Unconditional love.
Remind yourself that you are going to stay awake.
See yourself at the beginning of a long path.
As you enter this path you are surrounded by tall old trees.
Their branches reach up and out to the sky while staying grounded and rooted into the earth.
You feel safe here.
As you move deeper into the forest you come across a little stream which you follow as it leads you into a still peaceful pond.
As you step closer to the pond your reflection looks back at you.
What do you see?
The pond reflects back to you all of your greatest accomplishments and successes.
You feel confident and proud as you look at your reflection.
Next the pond reflects back to you all the people who love you and whom you love.
Who do you see?
As these people come forward one in particular stays reflected longer to send you a loving message.
What do they say?
How do you respond?
Speak your truth to them.
You feel liberated to have had this moment of clear communication.
Out of the corner of your eye a special piece of driftwood catches your eye so you pick it up.
You decide to leave a message in the sand by this pond.
You want to leave your deepest desire written here.
Your sankalpa.
An inner resolve or affirmation to imprint here forever.
See this statement in the present tense as if it is already true.
Write it as an I am statement now in the sand.
See it clearly written here.
Write it three times.
Carry the driftwood with you as you leave the pond now as a reminder of your sankalpa.
Slowly walk back out of the forest the way you came and allow yourself to feel connected to all that is here.
You are one with the universe.
As you emerge from the forest allow your breath to deepen.
Practice of yoga nidra is now complete.
Feel yourself coming back into the room.
Your space.
Your body.
Wiggle your fingers and toes.
Take a stretch and roll onto one side of the body before coming back to a seated position.
