Today's practice is a wu zi standing meditation to empower you to embody emptiness so you can embrace your infinite potential to fill.
Start by standing with your feet about hip distance apart or whatever distance feels comfortable for you.
Feel the weight of your body balanced between both of your feet.
Allow your arms to float comfortably by the sides of your body and let your palms face the side of your thighs with your fingers relaxed yet alert without rigidity.
Let your tailbone tuck under very slightly,
Creating spaciousness in the back of your spine and your pelvis.
It's as if there is a plumb line between your legs dropping down to the earth,
Allowing your lower body to sink and align and connect and root down towards the earth.
Relax your face,
Your forehead,
Your eyebrows.
Soften the space between your eyebrows and your cheeks.
Unclench your jaw and let the tip of your tongue rest behind the back of your front teeth.
Allow a soft,
Gentle,
Inner smile on your face as you soften and level your gaze and level your gaze while directing your gaze forwards.
Guide your awareness down to the rainbow arches of your feet,
Landing just behind the balls of your feet on the kidney 1 bubbling spring acupressure or acupuncture points on your feet.
Visualize these points,
One each,
Under the arches of your feet where the ball of your foot meets the arch of the foot in the center.
Feel these two like portals gradually opening.
From the opening of these portals,
Feel an invitation to root down towards the core of the earth.
Let your roots grow down and as they move down deeper,
They spread,
Grow,
And deepen,
Becoming thicker and stronger.
Let these roots spread and find a place to latch on to.
And as they do so,
Feel the earth,
Know the earth,
Trust the earth.
Trust the earth.
This is your connection to the yin,
To the earth,
To the tangible and concrete and your feeling of support and grounding.
Guide your awareness upwards to the crown of your head.
Visualize from your crown of your head,
Bai hui,
The point of a hundred meetings.
From this point on your crown,
An invisible golden thread connected from your crown to the heavens.
Feel that through this connection,
The back of your head and upper torso gently and effortlessly lift upwards towards the heavens,
Allowing your chin to tuck in ever so slightly.
Feel from this upward lift,
The spaciousness between your shoulders and your ears.
As you feel this connection and upward lift,
Feel the heavens,
Know the heavens,
Trust the heavens.
This is your connection to the yang,
To the heavens,
The intangible and the divine and your feeling of buoyancy and transcendence.
Allow your breath to be relaxed and easy as if your breath is breathing you.
Inhale and feel your belly gently expand.
Exhale and feel your belly expand.
Exhale and feel your belly draw slightly in and up.
Breathe in deeply as if into your belly,
Relaxing your belly and letting it drop.
And breathe out fully,
Imagining the air going up along your back.
Going up along your back,
Along your spine,
Over your head.
As you stand,
Feel your body as the bridge between heaven and earth.
Feel the dynamic balance of yin yang within and through you.
Exhale and relax your body.
Allow your body to be loose,
Untensed,
Open,
Spacious and calm.
Inhale and feel your mind expand.
Feel any thoughts and emotions gently settle and dissipate.
Exhale and relax your body even more.
Like a tightly wound spring,
Feel it begin to open up and loosen.
Inhale and feel your mind expand even more,
Like the clear blue sky as the clouds begin to shift and clear.
Exhale and relax your body fully and completely.
Inhale and feel your mind open fully,
Feeling vast,
Expansive and limitless.
Here,
Feel your true nature,
Free,
Motionless,
Without qualities.
Feel yourself as an empty vessel within you,
Through you,
Lies the infinite potential to fill.
Allow this emptiness,
Be the void that you are.
That you are.
Feel that you are both fully empty and at the same time with infinite potential to fill and overflow.
You are welcome to linger for as long as you wish.
If you are concluding this practice,
Then gently and slowly bring both of your palms together in front of your heart center and let your hip bow slightly down towards your heart.
Acknowledging your infinite potential to fill.
And then gently and slowly,
If your eyes are closed,
Let your eyes blink open.
