Be guided through a self-acupressure Wood Element meditation for releasing stress and frustration while tapping into your creative and visionary potential. The Wood Element governs our ability to see the full potential of what could be, to plan, strategize, and creatively connect with our vision. When in balance, it manifests as a clear sense of direction, agency, and drive. It's like the budding energy of spring when nature bursts forth with new life and growth. When out of balance, we may feel frustration or helplessness when things don't go as planned. Now,

Let's prepare to begin our self acupressure practice.

Today's acupressure point is located on the top of your feet,

So you may wish to do this practice in a seated position,

On a chair or on the ground,

Whichever feels best and is most accessible for you.

Some people enjoy doing this while seated on the ground in a cross-legged position,

While others prefer a seated butterfly position with the base of their feet facing each other and their knees open and apart.

Or you might try having one foot on the ground with your knee pointing upwards towards the sky while your other leg is in half butterfly.

Whatever option you choose,

The most important is to find the position that feels good for you.

Once you've settled into your seated position,

We'll now locate the acupressure point for today's session,

Liver 3,

Often known as the great surge or tai chong.

This point is found on the top of your foot,

In the webbing between your big toe and your second toe.

And this point can be found on both your left foot as well as your right foot.

And we'll practice this for both sides.

Later on,

When we begin to massage,

We'll start with your right foot.

We'll gently press down on this point to inhale for 3 counts and gently release as you exhale for 6 counts and we'll repeat this for a total of 5 times before then switching over to your other foot.

Before we start,

Imagine this point as the source of your creative energy,

Where your visions and ideas take root and begin to grow.

Now gently place your thumb or fingers on the liver 3 point of your right foot,

Finding the webbing between the big toe and second toe.

Gently press and apply pressure as you breathe in for 3,

Now slowly release as you exhale for 6,

And see yourself as a seed that has gone through the dormant period of winter,

Dreaming,

Hibernating and remaining still.

And now you are ready to gently burst forth.

Finally now let's begin to try the other side.

Place your thumb or fingertips on the liver 3 point on your left foot,

In the webbing between your big toe and second toe.

Gently circle and massage this point.

And with every exhale,

Feel that you are releasing any stress,

Any pressure to perform,

To succeed and the need to control.

With every exhale,

Let go of any frustration and let yourself be like a seed,

Soft and tender,

Ready to embrace the nourishment of the soil.

Gently now,

Place both of your healing hands,

One each over your liver 3 points,

One on top of each foot.

With each inhale,

Imagine you are soaking in the nutrients,

The vital ingredients,

Minerals and the support you need from the earth to burst through the surface of this soil.

Feel the energy rising within you,

Empowering you to emerge beyond any obstacles with agency as you grow towards the light of your dreams.

And with each exhale,

Connect with playfulness and compassion as it wraps around you.

Like a sprouting plant,

Your grow isn't forced or rushed.

Feel it unfold organically,

Naturally and joyfully.

Inhale deeply to embrace this springtime energy within you.

Exhale fully to release any lingering stress,

Frustration or the need to control.

Inhaling deeply,

Embracing your inherent creativity.

Exhaling fully,

Releasing stress,

Frustration and impatience.

Inhale deeply,

Tapping into your creative and visionary potential.

Exhale fully,

Allowing yourself compassion,

Allowing this playfulness to envelop you as it flows effortlessly.

Like the spring trees are coming into leaf,

Like something almost being said.

Feel this energy within you.

If and when you feel ready to allow this practice to come to a close,

Gently and slowly release your palms from your feet and take a moment to let the palms gently face upwards,

Perhaps resting them on your lap.

Within your palms,

Visualize two seeds,

One in each palm and let them be planted deep inside of you.

With every exhale,

Feel them take root in the fertile soil and land that is you.

And with every inhale,

Feel them begin to germinate,

To sprout as these baby leaves begin to unfurl and grow upwards towards the light of your dreams.

You are welcome to stay here for as long as you wish,

Connecting with your inherent creative and visionary potential.

If and when you feel ready to wrap up this practice,

Gently and slowly bring both palms together and let them rest in front of the heart space.

With your next exhale,

Let your head bow slightly down towards your heart,

Acknowledging these seeds you have planted deep within you that have already taken root,

Germinated and began to sprout and grow.

And slowly and gently,

If your eyes are closed,

Let them blink open.

Thank you for joining me in this guided self acupressure meditation.

I hope you bring with you this sense of creative empowerment and playfulness that the wood element represents as you move forward.

Remember that you have this inherent capacity to connect with your vision and manifest your dreams with this sense of playfulness and self-compassion.
