Hello beautiful mama.

Well done for taking this time for yourself today.

We know that even five minutes of mindfulness can make a huge difference to how we feel.

It can help us refocus,

Ground and refresh and it gives us what we need to connect with others in a more present way,

Especially our girls.

So wherever you are right now,

Stop for a moment and feel your feet touching the floor.

If you're sitting,

Feel your body against the chair and feel the support of the earth beneath you.

I invite you to repeat this mantra to yourself either out loud or in your head.

I am grounded and supported.

I am grounded and supported.

Now tapping into your body,

Asking yourself how am I feeling right now?

What do you notice in your body?

There's never a right or wrong answer to this question,

A better or worse one.

Let's just honor how it feels now for us and let it just be how it is in this moment.

Feel what you're feeling for a minute without judgment.

And now find your breath.

Notice its movement,

Its ebb and flow.

Notice how even amidst the chaos of life,

Your breath sustains you.

It's loyal and in your service,

Keeping you healthy and alive in this life.

Watch it as you would a beautiful ocean.

Notice its waves,

The in-breath and the out-breath,

Rhythmic.

It too changes in subtle ways and is never exactly the same.

So how does it feel for you right now?

What is it like?

Is the breath short?

Is it long?

Observe it with kindness.

Be with your breath for a minute.

And how is your mind?

Is it busy right now?

When our minds are full of thoughts,

It can be helpful to imagine yourself standing under a waterfall.

The stream of water is made up of millions of little drops.

Each one is like a thought.

Feel how it feels to have a busy mind,

Imagining yourself standing under the stream of water with your thoughts.

And now imagine yourself stepping out of the waterfall,

Watching it from a distance.

Your thoughts are over there and flowing away.

You have a moment of distance and space.

Spend a minute with this imagery and notice how it feels to have this distance.

And now I invite you to repeat this mantra.

I can get distance and perspective.

I can get distance and perspective.

Return your attention now to your body here.

Notice the earth supporting you and the contact your body's making with the chair or the floor.

Well done for taking this special time out to nourish yourself.
