So as you might know every Friday of a life where I have a distinct theme and this theme is always about you And you in your world Because at the core of everything I teach stands that I would like you to take as good care of yourself as you can Take in any way so meditation is a perfect tool for this there are many other ways also of course But meditation is one of the tools that you have always at your disposal Whether you're standing in a line you're in a traffic jam you're on a commute you're in your bed You're in the restroom,
Or you make the time to sit in a quiet place or wherever you are You have the ability to go to yourself and to take care of yourself,
And there are so many thousands of techniques that you can use for your own well-being So today the theme is a playdate with your inner child and I know there are some folks here who are here very frequently so you have run into this theme already before But also today because inner child work is important.
We all have Wounds scars Traumas or traumatic experiences and a traumatic experience doesn't even have to be something really big It can be of course,
But when we're children sometimes when our parents do or say something that is really innocent from an adults perspective Sometimes that can really cut a wound in a kid and it's so not necessary But sometimes we carry these things with us not to speak of the the bigger traumas the bigger Traumas the bigger things you know life happens with us with the people around us and these can leave their scars But inner child work doesn't always have to be heavy It can be of course and there are a lot of beautiful Meditations here on Inside Time when they are dealing with that with the healing of the inner child but what I would like to do today with you in this playdate is to To take you on this playdate and listen to the wisdom of your inner child To go to that time in your childhood Where you had specific dreams or hopes or wishes?
Insights and knowledge about who you are and where you want to go that sometimes we tend to forget when we grow up And we start to you know get into the rat race get into Obeying our teachers our parents or expectations from society Expectations from ourselves So I would like to work with you on that today now Let's start by sitting as comfortable as you can you know relaxed Sitting on your bum and take a moment to really feel how you are sitting You can close your eyes And be aware if there's any tension in your body So there are these really familiar places that people tend to keep some tension with me.
It's my shoulders so I always check my shoulders and generally I do so just by pulling them up and And just dropping them down and side out together with a drop.
Let's do it together.
Let's pull up your shoulders And drop them and with just a simple small gesture like this you can feel already that your body Starts to relax that it feels.

Yeah,
I can let go of tension I don't mind if you lie down or if you sit up you can sit up unsupported And you can feel your body I don't mind if you lie down or if you sit up you can sit up unsupported But if that is not comfortable then by all means just support yourself Lean against the back of your chair the back of your sofa or maybe sit against the wall Whatever is comfortable for you And if you prefer to have your legs folded then fold them but if this is not comfortable then just put them on the ground and And while I'm speaking about your feet be aware for a moment how your feet are touching the ground What points of your feet are touching the ground so if your feet are flat on the ground and you might feel that the The big toe might lean a little bit more heavy on the ground than the small one or the other way around You might feel your heel Leaning a little bit stronger on the ground and if you're sitting cross-legged Then you're probably feeling the sides of your feet on the ground When you bring your attention there then I always love to recognize to acknowledge that I am touching the ground I'm grounding I'm feeling the earth below me This beautiful earth Perfectly spinning in its orbit Always supporting me carrying me All right now you could bring your attention for a moment to your face Another notorious place for tension can be your forehead or your jaws If you have any tension there then see if you can relax it a little bit If necessary just make some more muscles and then let's go And you can put your hands in your lap relaxed Now bring all your attention to the middle of your chest to your heart region If it helps you can put your hands there,
But you don't have to And it's almost as if you Bring your attention from your head In the middle of your head Like you're sinking into your body Slowly slowly down Through your neck Into your chest,
The upper chest Slowly going down Sinking into your own heart Now while the attention is in your heart I Would like you to imagine that you're standing in front of a white door And use your imagination in the way that you normally fantasize So if you fantasize with images then use images But if you fantasize with words or knowing or feeling then do just that Do it in your own way Now this beautiful white door,
It's very bright and it looks inviting Let's gently knock on this door in your mind's eye Let's knock three times And when you take a small step back you see that the door opens to the inside and There is a kid standing Take a look at this kid and you notice that this is you at a certain age Take a moment to look at yourself and to see About what age you are right now and that can be different for everybody Your subconscious is now helping you to determine which age it is You don't have to think about it.
You can just see it Now take a moment to look at yourself To see yourself and if Having an image is hard then get a feeling of how you were feeling at that age Or just know yourself standing there or you could Imagine a picture of yourself at that age Whatever helps you to imagine yourself standing there Take a moment to really get that feel for your own presence as a kid at this age And can you see or feel that this little kid,
You Or maybe it's a teenager,
Doesn't have to be that little Is smiling at you Can you feel that smile?
Can you feel the happiness that they feel that you are standing here?
Now they're inviting you to come in in their own way Maybe they're just stepping back Maybe they're taking your hand and they're pulling you in Maybe they just jump and give you a hug Let them find their way to invite you in And by all means Take up the invitation and join them Step into this beautiful place where they are This beautiful place where they are So let them take you by the hand And lead you into this place And I would love for you to take a moment to acknowledge where you are And also this is different for everyone Maybe you are in your bedroom you had as a kid Maybe it's the living room where you lived as a kid Maybe it's the fantasy place where you used to go to in your head When you wanted to escape anything or just enjoy your fantasy Maybe it's a garden Maybe it's your favourite vacation place Whatever the place is Take a moment to see it or feel it What are the colours?
What is in this place?
Is it a room?
What furniture do you see?
Do you see photos or pictures?
Is it a garden or a place in nature?
Then what kind of flowers and trees and plants can you see?
Is there water?
Is there desert?
So take a moment to use your inner senses to get a feeling of this place So what do you smell?
And if you don't smell anything because it's hard for you to imagine a smell That's okay,
You cannot do this wrong Then just move on and see if you can hear something in this beautiful place Maybe you hear your favourite song Maybe you hear silence Maybe you hear chirping birds And how does the atmosphere feel on your skin?
Is it pleasant?
Make sure that it feels good If it's too cold then put up the heater and make it warmer If it's too hot put on an air conditioning and make it cooler Let it be perfect Is there a breeze?
Is there sun?
And what are you seeing?
The colours,
The shapes?
Is it small?
Is it big?
Are there animals?
Are there other people?
Alright,
Now bring your attention back to your inner child Who is standing with you with a really big smile They're so happy you're here And let them take you further into this place Because there is a beautiful chair standing right there You can see it?
This is a really comfy chair A chair specially made for you Your name is even written on it,
Can you see it?
Maybe your inner child was just writing it with some pencils on it That's also possible Now,
In this chair there is a place for you and your inner child together So you're sitting there together and you can sit in a way that is comfortable for you They can sit on your lap,
They can sit next to you,
They can sit on your shoulder They can sit at your feet,
Whatever feels good for you and for them And while you're sitting here,
I know that your inner child wants to show you something Your inner child wants to remind you of a moment in your childhood where you felt free Where you felt loved,
Where you felt on top of your world Where you felt worthy,
Empowered,
Strong and lovable Gentleness in your heart,
Big eagerness for whatever would come Alright,
Now your inner child is going to remind you of this moment or this period of time in your life And they're doing it in their way This is your subconscious speaking,
So don't overthink it Lean back in this really comfortable chair,
Yes,
Take a moment,
Really feel that you can lean back You can actually lean back a little bit And just let them surprise you,
Maybe they will pull up a movie screen and show you a memory Maybe they will hold up a mirror and show you in the mirror what it was Maybe they will whisper a word Maybe they will give you a feeling Maybe you will hear a song,
Whatever it is Let them surprise you and don't overthink it And if nothing comes up,
That's okay I promise you there will come later a moment that you will know what this moment was Alright,
I will be silent for a moment And let your inner child reach out to you with this beautiful empowering memory Go ahead Take your time to receive it And if you feel any emotion or feeling popping up,
That's okay That's okay This is a beautiful memory A loving memory This is a time in your life that you felt so loved,
So worthy,
So eager and happy And it's okay if you have emotions about this time Your inner child is having this really,
Really big smile because they want to let you know That they are within you,
Always And within you,
They are carrying this memory So this part of you still exists in the depths of your own heart It is here,
It is present and it can grow bigger if you allow it to grow bigger again And it's not childish to allow yourself this feeling It's not selfish to allow yourself this feeling It is empowering to know that this part of you is still alive and kicking Maybe in the depths of your heart,
But it's there,
Ready to join you in real life Now let that sink in for a moment If you like,
You can put your hands on your heart to remind yourself That it's not even a seed that you planted,
It's just there It's part of you Alright,
Now I would love for you to ask your inner child now What is your biggest dream that I can start to live now?
So you ask your inner child What was it that I was dreaming about when I had your age?
And how can I bring that now into my life?
You know what?
It might be very well that your inner child is jumping up Pulling you by the hand,
Yeah I see,
They're doing it all,
They're pulling you by the hand And they start to run together with you to a different place in this beautiful area And they're going to show you what it is You're now in a big,
Big meadow With beautiful flowers around you And your inner child is going to show you this desire,
This wish that you have in your heart That you're still dreaming about sometimes Maybe rationally you have given up on this dream But in your heart it is still there And your inner child is going to show you what it is Reminding you that everything is possible Alright,
I will be silent and I will leave them to show it to you And if you don't see it immediately,
I promise you it will come on a later moment Don't overthink it And if you have a hard time knowing what it is,
Then imagine a big movie screen And see what they want to show you on this movie screen As if you're watching a movie about yourself Alright,
Go ahead inner child That is really beautiful And touching Do you feel that?
How this touches your own heart?
These deep desires that you carry with you That sometimes you think about and think it's not for you And if you feel sadness then that's okay,
That's okay It's good to recognise what's going on in your heart And how you can lift the sadness By knowing that at the core of every desire is You being kind to yourself You loving yourself so much that you allow yourself to be who you are That you sometimes can say no to people That you sometimes can do something really,
Really crazy that others might frown upon But you just love to do it It's all okay Your life is all about you And that's the message of your inner kid And the beautiful thing is that we will always have our fantasy And sometimes our dreams and desires are not tangible here But they are in our heads They are in our fantasies And we can always go to this place in our heart See this big movie screen or whatever way you fantasise And just fantasise about your desires And make it so real for you That it makes you happy Alright,
Now I would like you to ask your inner child If your inner child needs anything from you right now Because they are there,
They are happy,
They are light They are reminding you,
They are showing you how much you are loved How much you are worthy But maybe you want to give them also something And if you take a look at their faces You might see that they are a little bit naughty It looks like they want to have some playdate fun with you So maybe they just want to throw with cakes Maybe they will just want to run or play football Or paraglide Swim in the ocean Just hug and hold each other It is something really close to your heart It is not something big,
It is not something really material It is just a beautiful need that you and your inner child can feel that you are connected Alright,
Inner child,
What do you need?
You can ask them Now,
In your fantasy,
Give them what they were asking for If they want a dog,
Give them a dog,
It is your fantasy If they want to hug,
Then hug with them If they want to ring the neighbour's doorbell and run away as fast as they can Do it!
Go ahead and do it And can you feel that fun?
Can you connect to that feeling that you had as a kid when you were just playing and having fun?
No worries about today No worries about yesterday or tomorrow or even further than that That all didn't exist Just happy fun right now Alright,
Now,
Your inner child takes you by the hand And it walks a little bit further with you And now you notice that you are on the top of a mountain And when you take a look down,
Oh so beautiful to have this overview,
To have this view from above You could imagine that you see there a path leading down and this path You could see as a metaphor for your life path And when you take a good look,
Because you can zoom in in your fantasy,
Then you see that this path leads to many different places Many different people,
Many different situations And sometimes the road is a little bit rocky And sometimes the road is really really smooth And most of the time the road is okay,
But there are always beautiful flowers on it If you take the time to look around you,
There are always lovely smells If you take a moment to smell them What you know for sure is that this inner kid,
This happy,
Fulfilled,
Eager,
Inspiring,
Lovable,
Worthy inner kid that you are Is always with you in your heart Alright,
Now I invite you to slide yourself into your life with the knowing from this inner child So you see this path and you can jump on it and just walk it You could start to run it,
You could see it as a slide,
As kids have and just slide down on it You could make a stream with it and take a boat or just swim in it and let yourself float on it You could take a parachute and just jump and let yourself slowly float there You could imagine that you have wings and fly over it Or you could just decide that you want to crawl on it because you just like to do it like that Whatever way you are doing it,
Just remember that you have your inner kid with you And this is like a new step,
A step on your path that is already there That you are already walking for so many years But now you are a little bit more empowered Now you are here with the knowing that this happiness,
This loveliness This eagerness is always within you and you bring it home Alright,
Use your own way to dive back into your life Slide,
Jump,
Swim,
Fly,
Hoover,
Whatever way and go ahead And whatever way you are choosing,
Try to see if your senses can register it So if you are flying you might feel the air on your body If you are sliding you might feel your hair going to the back because of the inertia If you are walking you can feel the strength of the earth under your feet Whatever your way is,
Make it as tangible within your fantasy as you can make it Because this is an important moment This is the moment where you decide to take a new step To take a new road into your life on this pathway that is already there And you are doing it just right because there is no wrong or right way to do it There is just your way of doing it and that is exactly what you are doing now I am having a really big smile on my face while doing this,
I hope you have it too And when you get to the point that you are back into your body in the here and now With all this knowledge and feeling that you just got,
The insights that you just received The love for yourself that you allowed yourself to have in your heart So when you are there,
I invite you to really take your time before you are opening your eyes Just become aware first of your feet on the ground,
Your bum on the seat You could wiggle your fingers and toes,
Move your spine,
Stretch it maybe a little bit And then when you are really here,
Keep your eyes closed still You could put your hands on your heart again And remind you for one last time of this treasure in your heart,
This treasure that you are It rests in your heart And then you can slowly start to open your eyes,
But take your time,
Take as much time as you need

Thank you Femke. Some days I feel a little "off" and I know I need to do an inner child meditation. My inner child needs me, or as today I actually needed her. Thank you for posting this so we have it as a resource to come back to. Also when I was little i lived with my grandma for a couple of years, she is now passed away but I never grieved properly, the meditation helped me to access some memories of that time, which is beautiful. Thank you š šš
