Usually, we never listen: a sound falling on the ear is not the meaning of listening. We are thinking simultaneously when someone is talking, then we are not listening because the mind can do only one thing at a time, never two things. Either we can listen or we can think. In this Guided Meditation, we will start with a Dharma talk that comes from Osho’s book - The Inner Journey (from which this meditation has been taken), to introduce and better understand the importance and the practice of Listening.‌ When done with pure awareness and presence, listening has wonderful effects: as the mind is incapable of doing two things at a time, as long as you are listening, for that much time thinking will stop. Indirectly, we’re silencing the mind. Here we will use the Music as an anchor for listening, but you can practice it anywhere (best in nature), by listening to the sounds around you: the wind, the birds…. any sound that is there with you.
