Hi and welcome to this finding your flow meditation.

To begin this practice as always I just ask you to come and find a place where you feel comfortable,

Set the energy of your space and just grant yourself permission to be fully present in this moment.

Perhaps you've come to this space because you're feeling in a bit of a funk or maybe you're feeling a little overwhelmed,

Perhaps you're lacking in creativity or you're just not really sure what steps to take.

This meditation is all about tapping into that flow that always exists within you.

We're gonna let go of any rigidness,

Any blocks,

Any bumps that are really really preventing that flow from just being free.

And in light of that I invite you to consider how you are holding yourself right now.

Is there a sense of rigidness perhaps in the way that you're sitting?

Often we think of when we come to a meditation we have to sit in the typical meditation seat.

Perhaps that's not actually what the body wants right now.

I often find when I come to my mat in the morning my body's been still all night.

It actually wants a little bit of movement so I tend to sway from side to side.

Same when I come in the afternoon or evening if I've been sat at my desk all day or if I've been really really busy.

Tapping into stillness doesn't actually always feel that intuitive for us so I invite you here as you're sitting just to release any expectation and perhaps welcome a little bit of movement.

Perhaps you want to move the spine,

Sway the head,

Perhaps even move the hands.

Maybe in this moment you realize that you don't actually really want to be sat at all.

Maybe you want to stand up and just allow a little bit of flow,

Allow some intuitive movements just to come through you.

And as you do this being aware of any blockages that you're sensing within the body.

Perhaps spending a little longer moving in one space that feels a little tight or stuck.

Maybe you want to bring a hand to that area and just gently massage it a little bit.

And just spending a few moments with yourself here just really tapping into that body and how it's feeling.

And you invite even a little bit more flow into this space.

And feel free to pause here and just move for as long as you feel called to.

When you feel ready I just invite you to come back to stillness and to place one hand on the belly,

One hand on the chest.

If it feels okay for you closing down the eyes now.

Just spending a few moments observing the breath as it moves in and out.

Being present with this natural flow that always exists within us.

And then seeing if you can begin to direct the breath a little bit deeper down into the belly.

So you really feel that hand on the belly rise.

Continuing to draw the inhale up into the chest.

Feeling the chest rise.

Just pausing for a minute at the top of the breath.

And then releasing.

Feeling that exhale first from the chest and then from the belly.

Continuing that into the belly,

The chest.

Exhaling from chest to belly.

Just allowing this flow to continue as you observe.

Maybe noticing if the flow seems to be getting caught anywhere.

Noticing if your breath hitches at all.

And just being aware.

Spending a few more moments here observing that breath flowing in and out.

And allowing this to be a reminder to just trust in that flow.

Even when the breath reaches the end of the exhale,

Trusting that the inhale begins again.

The very essence of flow is knowing that it comes and goes.

And with this breath I just invite you to bring into the mind's eye the image of a wave.

And perhaps for you right now this feels like a big crashing wave.

Maybe it feels a little bit more like a gentle ripple on the shore.

And perhaps seeing if you can time your inhale to the vision of this wave rolling back in to the ocean.

And the exhale as it either crashes or gently ripples on the shore.

Inhale,

Feeling that wave draw back.

That big preparation.

And then exhale the wave unfolds,

Floats onto the shore.

Continuing here with your own version of the ocean flowing in your mind's eye.

And perhaps when you next exhale you just want to make a shhhhh sound like the sound of the wave.

Drawing that inhale in and then shhhhh to release.

And perhaps you're starting to notice that inhale and exhale become a little bit longer timed to the ocean.

Just a couple more moments here.

Next exhale,

Releasing the hands down if they're still there.

Relaxing the breath,

Just allowing it to flow in its natural state of being.

Just tuning in,

Noticing how you're feeling in the body.

How your breath feels.

What's coming into the mind.

Just being aware of those thoughts flowing in and out.

Reminder that nothing's permanent here.

It's all coming and going as it should be.

I'm going to leave you today with this reminder that this breath,

This flow,

This life force energy always exists within you.

You always have this space to return to when you need it.

Just trust that wherever you go,

Flow literally lives within you.

Thank you so much for joining me.
