Close your eyes.
See yourself on a forest path.
Take a deep breath in and fill your lungs with fresh air.
Hold it for a couple of seconds and then exhale.
You feel as if your body has just woken up.
Breathe in again and imagine how the air reaches every fiber of your body.
Take another deep breath,
Hold it and then slowly release it.
Your ears detect a gentle whisper and you realize it's coming from the trees around.
The light wind moves their leaves in a slow romantic dance.
Start walking on the path.
Colorful autumnal leaves have formed a carpet.
The rustling sound seems quite soothing to you.
Take another breath.
Your heart fills with gratitude because you're able to spare an hour of your busy-tailed schedule to indulge yourself in this beautiful forest.
Suddenly you recognize an enormous chestnut tree.
Get closer and touch its bark.
How does it feel?
Is it soft or rough?
A tiny ant is scurrying towards a crevice and soon it disappears.
You stay there for a moment thinking about all the little creatures whose presence we are often not aware of.
Ants.
Beetles.
Dragonflies.
Bees.
A loud knock in the distance disturbs your thoughts.
You continue further down the path and see a woodpecker on an oak tree.
You admire its olive and brown plumage which blends with the colors of the tree bark.
Its strong build is drumming onto the trunk and resonating everywhere.
How do you find this pecking sound?
Take in a slow breath and soak it all in.
Is it relaxing or irritating?
Let's inhale again.
Breathe in slowly.
Hold it and then breathe out.
You notice that the constant pecking has been replaced by a beautiful song.
Looking to your right you see a red-breasted bird perched on a holly tree.
You immediately recognize it as a robin.
Its song puts a smile on your face.
You see that the holly is covered with red berries.
They match the robin's red breast perfectly.
In fact,
They remind you that Christmas is on the way.
Your mouth is watering when you think of your favorite Christmas pudding which you always decorate with red holly berries.
What is your favorite celebration treat?
Is it sweet or savory?
Take another deep breath and exhale very slowly.
You spot a clearing nearby and head off to get your bearings.
The sun is still shining though you can't feel its warmth.
You catch a glimpse of a young deer peering from behind a bush.
It must have come to enjoy the rays of the sun too.
The deer sees you and you pause for a moment.
You're watching each other tentatively.
The majestic creature does not seem to be scared at all.
You take the chance to admire the lovely white spots which are spread across its back.
Is its mother nearby?
You look around but the only animal you see is a badger playing with the leaves.
The deer edges backwards,
Still having its eyes fixated on you.
Then it takes a leap and vanishes into the forest.
You feel the need to follow it and soon find yourself in a magnificent tunnel formed by many enormous branches.
Mesmerized by the beauty of this enchanting forest,
You decide to explore the tunnel.
I will leave you here for a minute.
Now,
Let's go back to your breath.
Inhale slowly and then exhale.
Move your fingers and toes.
Breathe in again and slowly move your body.
Then breathe out.
You can open your eyes now.
