Welcome to Enhancing Recovery Part 2.
I'm Dr.
Lynne Brown.
Today's topic is Forgiving Others,
Forgiving Yourself.
There are those for whom you hold resentments regarding your drinking and your relationship with alcohol.
In order to be free,
To move forward,
To grow,
And to become the sober person you want to be,
It is important that you forgive.
By letting go of the anger,
You can redirect the energy you wasted on the negative.
It gives you more energy to expend on getting to your goal.
Take time now to forgive all those whom you feel have helped you get and stay drinking,
And those who have influenced your self-esteem in a negative manner because of drinking.
Include any others whom you resent regarding your drinking.
It is also time to forgive yourself for the beliefs,
Attitudes,
And behaviors that have influenced you in becoming and staying an alcoholic.
Here's the information you'll need to forgive others and forgive yourself.
Those whom I forgive.
I blank.
Forgive blank.
Or blank.
Fill in the blanks.
Do this for up to 12 people.
Forgiving myself.
I forgive myself for the following beliefs that have gotten and kept me drinking.
I forgive myself for the following attitudes that have gotten and kept me drinking.
I forgive myself for the following behaviors that have gotten and kept me drinking.
