Welcome to the Best Life University podcast.
I'm Dr.
Lynn Brown,
A counselor and educator.
In this podcast,
I discuss a myriad of topics related to the five dimensions of personal growth,
Mental,
Social,
Spiritual,
Emotional,
And physical.
Thank you so much for listening.
This topic is Always Move Toward Something,
Never Away From Something Running away doesn't take you anywhere because you have nowhere to go.
If you move away from something without a new destination,
You will inevitably end up where you started.
This is because it is the only place you know to go.
So always have somewhere to go.
Move toward a particular destination,
A goal,
And you will automatically move away from what was.
To practice this,
Choose a situation or experience that you responded to by running away from instead of moving forward toward a goal.
What was it about this situation or experience that felt uncomfortable enough for you to make that choice?
What belief or beliefs influenced the choice to avoid rather than solve?
What was the outcome of this situation or experience?
If you would have moved toward the goal,
What would you have done differently?
Use this example as a jumping off point to help you get in the habit of always moving toward a goal rather than avoiding.
Of course,
Feel free to apply this process to all situations and experiences that you tend to avoid.
The result will allow you to recognize your empowerment.
