White Lotus Blessing Meditation

Welcome to your meditation practice today.

Today's meditation focuses on the healing lotus.

So let's begin.

Finding your comfortable seat,

Pelvis anchored into the earth as the knees fall down towards the ground.

The spine is nice and long.

The last rib very gently draws in in order to elongate the spine even more.

The chin draws in and the crown of the head rises all the way up towards the ceiling.

The shoulders are relaxed and gently melt away from the ears.

The palms in Dhyani Mudra,

Placing your dominant hand underneath the opposite hand and allowing the tips of the thumbs to touch.

If you are left-handed,

The left hand is placed under the right.

And if you are right-handed,

The right hand is placed underneath the left.

Elbows soft,

Relaxed.

Feel free to perch on the edge of a block,

Blanket or pillow in order to allow the pelvis to tilt slightly forwards.

If sitting in this position is not comfortable for you today,

Simply choose your own seated posture instead.

Avoid lying down for this meditation if you can.

Consciously allow the events that have brought you to this moment to remain outside of your practice.

You're aware of them,

But you do not bring them with you.

When you are fully settled,

When you are in a position where physically you are as comfortable as you can be,

Invite the eyes to close.

The soft lids closing,

Awakening the space behind the eyes,

The Chid Akash.

And just taking a moment to tune into how you're feeling right now.

What energy do you bring to your practice?

How are you feeling on a physical level?

And are there any areas in the body where you feel that you are holding tension?

And maybe investigating why tension is being held here?

What is being asked of you?

How can you provide permission for this tension to very gently and slowly be released?

Are you feeling on a mental level,

On a psychological level,

The feelings that are traveling through the mind,

The emotions that are rising in the body?

Again,

Witness these sensations.

Observe them,

Note them,

And then let them go.

Being aware of the spiritual energy that you bring to this practice.

How attuned you are currently feeling to the wisdom that's within you,

Or maybe how disconnected you may be feeling from this part of who you are.

Witness again how you feel through all layers of your being as you breathe deeply.

Start to feel the unison of all of these layers being threaded through as one vibration of consciousness,

No longer separated,

But operating in unison with one another,

Constantly informing the other of your current state.

Imagine yourself sitting here.

You may see that as if you are looking from above down below.

You might even see yourself sitting in front of yourself,

Breathing in and breathing out,

Witnessing everything,

Welcoming everything in,

Being aware of the external sounds and your surroundings,

Being fully present here.

Ask now how much more of you could be here for your practice.

Has all of you arrived at the same time in the same place?

Take a few moments to align all aspects of your being to this present moment that is before you now.

Begin to now feel your awareness of the breath,

Gently inviting a soft pause at the end of the inhale and exhale.

I need to count the pause,

Just simply a momentary pause before you exhale.

Where you find a momentary pause again before you inhale,

Notice the breath,

How it gets filtered by the nose as it enters,

How these soft concave in the nose swirl and heat the air before it enters the lungs,

The cilia in the nose and how it filters the air.

Such intelligence that exists in the breath,

Such intelligence in the body.

Aim to allow equal expansion of inhale and equal release of the exhale,

Softening into the breath as if you are effortlessly breathing.

The inhale and exhale match in length and duration.

Start to observe the qualities of your breath.

Every pause is an invitation to simply slow down and attune to the present moment and what is here before you now,

This life force that is present within the prana of the lungs,

Breath awakening all other systems and organs to the aliveness of the essence of who you are.

You find now a rhythm with your breath.

Allow your mind to journey inwards.

Begin to attune your awareness to the central energy channel that runs through the spine.

This energy channel is referred to as Shoshona and within this central channel you start to notice a long stalk that moves all the way from the crown of the head through the center of the brain,

Through the back of the throat,

Through the cervical vertebrae in the neck,

Thoracic spine,

Mid spine,

Towards the lower spine,

Five lumbar vertebrae,

Into the five fused sacrum,

Into the pelvic bowl and then start to see the roots of this stalk extend down into the earth and the tendrils of the root system of the stalk begin to intertwine into the earth.

Finding stability,

Finding strength,

Breathing in and breathing on out.

As you follow the stalk now up through the crown of the head,

Six to eight inches above the head,

You begin to see a brilliant white light manifesting as a white lotus flower,

Glistening with white light as the lotus flower begins to open and flourish.

Starting to see this liquid like nectar of energy spill through the spine until you can start to observe this white light traveling all the way down the stalk,

Deep down into the pelvic bowl and into the tendrils of its intelligent root structure,

Anchored and fully supporting you into the earth,

So much so that you can feel the heaviness now of your pelvic bowl,

Breathing in and breathing out,

This white light opening,

Expanding.

As you continue with the rhythm of your breath,

Begin to feel as if on the inhale you draw that white light from the center of the lotus flower down into the base of your heart.

And as you exhale,

That white light rises back up again,

Fueling that white lotus flower to open and expand and radiate light even more until you inhale again,

Drawing that white light all the way down to the base of the heart and exhaling back up again.

And as you follow this internal image,

You begin to see that white light being inhaled through a ball of white light down to the heart.

That ball of light is exhaled back up again as if feeding the white lotus flower to be ever expansive,

Expansive,

Ever open.

Breath moving in,

Breath moving out,

Following this beam of light as it travels in,

Allowing the heart space to be filled with divinity,

Allowing the heart's space to awaken to its own innate intelligence,

Feeling that that inhalation that's being drawn downwards is felt at the front of the heart,

The back of the heart,

The top of the heart and the base,

So much so that this light,

This feeling of expansion is radiating out beyond the surface layer of your skin as if generating a pulsation of energy and light.

Continue to feel this ball of light drawn down from the crown of the head into the heart space and exhaling that ball of light back up to the white lotus flower again.

The pulsation,

The spanda of energy that moves through every inhale,

Every exhale,

A deeper pulsation that expands wider and wider and wider and wider and is felt so palpably by all layers of your being,

Following this light energy as you breathe.

Begin now to allow that white light to gently start to fill every cell of your body.

Begin to feel that this white light healing,

Blessing energy travels to every system of your body,

Every organ,

Every gland,

Every cell,

Every tissue,

Every muscle,

Every bone,

Every tendon,

Every piece of cartilage,

Every aspect of fascia throughout the body gets filled with this white light as it begins to pour its way in now through from the white lotus all the way down through the central channel,

Out towards the limbs,

To the fingers,

To the toes,

Throughout the whole spine as if this vibration of light is now pulsating fully,

This liquid blessing energy,

A reminder of the teachings of the lotus flower that sits and grows in the murkiest of mud,

In the toughest environments that nature can throw at it and it begins its journey in dark places,

Yet its innate wisdom knows that light is present and without fail it searches for that light through the mud until that light is found.

This is a symbol of the challenges that you have moved through in your life and the strength that you have gained just as that strong stalk through the central channel replicates an inner resilience created through challenge,

Pain,

Loss of being placed in environments that have felt challenging,

Experiences that have been challenging,

All here in order for you to grow just as the white lotus flower has found its way through the mud to the light again.

Allow this pulsation of energy begin to immerse into the blessings that are here,

Feel as if this white light is even pouring through the skin,

Absorbed into your being just as you are.

Allow yourself now to be immersed in the silence that is within you,

This healing blessing energy of the white light holding you in this space as you go deeper and deeper and deeper into the self.

So you remain now in meditation,

Feeling this pulsation of light on the inhale repeating the word OM and on the exhale repeating the word SA,

The HUM SA mantra translated as I am that,

HUM on the inhale,

SA on the exhale.

Any time you feel the mind wander come back to the HUM SA mantra allowing the vibration of this ancient mantra to move through.

Sound this mantra as repeated quietly in your own mind,

Repeated with every flowing inhalation and every flowing exhalation.

Breathing in HUM,

Breathing out SA.

As you next exhale releasing from the HUM SA mantra,

Just allow yourself to simply be,

Not focusing on anything in particular,

Just allow yourself to be.

Start now to feel as if this white light is being drawn back into the stalk of the lotus flower,

Into its root system,

To the white light blessing energy that sits above your head,

Represented here as the Sahasrara,

The white lotus.

Draw that energy all the way in and should you feel that energy move all the way through,

Feel that light now as you journey inwards even more and you can start to see the spine,

The pelvis,

The crown of the head glowing white.

You can even feel that energy from the center of your being.

This energy is here for you whenever you need it.

You draw it back in,

Anchored into that white stalk energy.

This energy is for you,

Created by you,

Depleted only by your own choices.

The Shushananadi can be refilled anytime through this meditation practice.

If you feel depleted,

Lost,

Uncertain,

Overwhelmed,

Come back.

Lotus and the stalk through the center of your being anchoring you fully into the earth,

Providing you with that very same strength that it too needs.

From here now placing your left hand onto your heart and the right hand on top of the left.

Breathe into this heart space where compassion resides,

Breathing in and breathing out.

As you hold here,

I will read to you from the She Book by Tanya Markle,

Taking from it whatever you feel is most relevant to you today and what wisdom is needing to be found through these words and trusting that they will land when and where they are needed.

When you realize you felt like a caged bird or a caged animal for too long,

But suddenly hear the click of a lock in the door to freedom.

When you discover that the lock was never a lock,

But a locket in the shape of your heart,

Carrying the beat to the anthem of your soul.

When it turns out that the walls keeping you safe,

The ones echoing the sounds of your own drum,

Were mere illusions of your overly protective mind.

When you hear the sound of the universe,

Not outside of you,

But within you as you,

And you step both feet outside of the walls and into a new kind of freedom and a different kind of you,

And you roar with an aliveness that breaks through illusion,

That breaks through you into you.

Deep breath in as those words land when needed,

Being absorbed into your being,

Guiding you as needed.

Bring your palms now into prayer position at the center of your heart as you allow the thumbs to gently touch the heart space,

And still feeling that radiating light from the center of the heart.

Loka sama sta suki no bhavantu.

May all beings everywhere be happy and free.

May the journey of your own life positively contribute to that very same happiness and freedom for all,

And may the life force that moves through you,

Uniquely manifesting in this life as you,

Reign ever anchored,

Ever strong,

Ever open,

And ever loving.

As the peace mantra moves through,

Feel your breath deepen,

Feel your awareness return,

Consciously taking this feeling of strength with you into your day,

Anchored into the light always.
