It's not Intentional,
It's not something that we are excited about Okay,
So if that's your case you are not alone because that's why that's why I'm doing this session guys Because I know that a lot of you and I myself if I don't take the time to do this exercise I will end up with a week that I don't like or my week with will go by so fast That I will go look back and I will say what did I do?

And sometimes the answer is no I plan blocks of downtime for my yoga meditation on Beach walks to be able to relax and break free of the bonds of truth scheduling Absolutely,
And that's something that is important in your calendar guys the self-care aspect You can just fill your calendar with activities and tasks and chores and that's it and have your full day Full of things that don't mean anything to you You have to have your variety,

This is especially important when you work for yourself or from home.

That's me And I can tell you that I was overwhelmed.
Sometimes I am overwhelmed because my life my business changes so fast and all of a sudden I am I Have to do things that I didn't do before I don't know how to do them efficiently and then my week becomes a mess So when that happens,
I just want to show you what I do.

So when that happens I do this And I don't know if you guys see what I'm showing you here,
But basically This is a full week Monday to Sunday and I do a time inventory Okay a time inventory.
This is for all of you guys That you feel yourself trapped in a week that you don't like You feel yourself trapped in a week full of things that you don't even know what they are why they are there and you feel drained you feel like in self-care and me time you feel Like the week is not flowing.
You are not enjoying your time Okay,
You just go by trying to put fires trying to get things done But at the end of the week,
You don't feel satisfied You don't feel fulfilled your dreams and goals are not reflected in that week and then another week starts of the same Okay I've been there.
I think we all have been there So the way for you to be able to create your idea week a week that can look like this is my wife's journal For example,
And I am happy to share some of her pages For example,
This is one of her weeks from last year from 2020.
Okay So she has different colors for different activities and then she basically this exercise repeats Every few months with us every few months.
She she does a new week so again,
This is another week that she has and then there you go another week and She's a very visual person and she does it in her journal I Sometimes use my journal when I have to actually think and design my week But once I am putting my week into action,
I personally like using my phone and I use Yeah,

Like this is a week but guys don't think this is not something That you have to follow.
This is just one example of what she does how we do this exercise.
Okay So this is just a week.
You just start Monday To Sunday and why a week why a week guys?
Why not a month?
Why not a day when you are doing time management because After working with so many people and after working with myself and after After thinking and reflecting about my life and everybody's life,

If there is something that you want to see in your life something that is important to you Every week should reflect that.

So let me explain that a Week is enough time for you to work for you to spend family time for you to do exercise for you to pursue hobbies for you to use the time in the ways that you want to use it if You just were to take a day a day is not enough time for you to fit everything that you need in your life If you take a month is way too overwhelming for some people to plan a whole month,
Right?
It's just too much time When you have a week a week is the perfect amount of time Because a week is something that repeats itself a week is something that is long enough to be able to fit Everything that you want to see in your life majority of the things Okay,
Majority of the things but it's not too long that you will become overwhelmed with it And it has workdays and a weekend.
So a week has mornings evenings nights So everything is in there and we humans have an saccharin rhythm we call it Okay,
It's a rhythm an energetic rhythm that Repeats every 24 hours.
This is something scientific.
You can go on Google and you type saccharin rhythm and you will read that Everybody all of us have a 24 hour cycle that repeats itself It's like nature guys nature everything repeats itself the seasons come and go the day and the night come and go Everything comes and go the same way.
It's a cycle We have a cycle in ourselves and let me ask you guys how many of you are night owls?
How many of you are morning people how many of you have peak energy in the middle of the day?
We are all different and we all have different energy levels different like See morning night morning night owl morning morning night owl,
But want to be a morning person So we all have that rhythms.

That happens.
Okay for me,
For example,
I'm not a morning person I'm not a night person either.
I'm a day person So my energy is like I get up in the morning and then after maybe half an hour I start increasing my energy and then I have a peak through the middle of the day and then I have a low Normally after lunch and then I have another peak between like four and seven and then my energy levels start decreasing,
Right?
So that's my own saccade rhythm.
That's how I feel I work.
So my creative work is done at this time Then that's why I do the sessions at this time because it's when you will find me with the most energy Okay and then last week we were talking about books that were helping you to be intentional and one of the books was talking about self-care Okay,
And how important that energy levels Like you start the in the morning You have a lot of energy and then your energy drains and then what did the book recommend for you to go back to the top?

So when we are designing our week,
That's what we have to be aware of What's my energy level?

And some people already know that some people don't know that Some people are night people but that's affecting their lives negatively.
So they want to change to be morning person so they are trying to create a week that facilitates and Empowers that and that's also doable,
But you have to change your body.
It's you're gonna change habits here,

But just look at your natural sarcastic rhythm right now.

And then try to create a week that Fits well with that and now,
You know when your energy is high what time of the day?
You know when your energy goes to the top to the bottom.

And then you know that self-care is required there So that's when you are going to allow yourself for power nap Go for a walk listen to something that inspires you and it doesn't matter if you have to work It doesn't matter if you are doing something else.
You can always find a self-care activity To raise your energy while you are doing that thing For example if I have to do dishes or I have to do the laundry or I have to do something at shore That I have to do I have it on my calendar.
It is my responsibility and It's boring for me I can make that short better by me doing something at the same time so I can listen to something I can watch to something I can maybe Like exercise while I'm doing something.
I don't know you can make be creative and create something that it's better for you.

And that's a topic that I will talk more about but my wife and I Created a schedule together so that we could Be clear about when I have free time and when I'm in charge of Eva Because so many times if we if you don't know We were frustrated because we couldn't do anything because we didn't know when we were free So we created that time and then I call her and say okay on Monday I'm taking care of Eva at this time on Tuesday at this time on Wednesday at this time So my week is starting to take shape with just the basics.

And then you can stop there You can just stop there for a week and then you start observing.

How is my energy levels and then that's when this exercise can come in.

What is this exercise?
This exercise is what I had to do before being able to do the week So I had to inventory my time and my case is I am an entrepreneur So I don't have a nine-to-five job.
I have a thousand things I want to do I don't have a boss prioritizing for me.
So I have to be the one deciding everything.
That's why it was overwhelming Right,
So I started to monitor my time.
Okay.
What did I do on Monday?
I did these things What did I do on Tuesday?
I did these things and then this notebook was with me beside me and I forced myself to write down everything I was doing and you may think oh my god.
This is so much work Let me ask you how is your week serving you right now?
How is your week serving you right now?
Is it amazing?
Or is it overwhelming like many of you share?
So if it's not exciting if it's not fun if it's terrible,
Why wouldn't you invest a little bit of time guys?
In making it better You just take a little bit of time a few hours here a few hours there and then you create something and then you start Building from that and then in a few weeks you will have a week that will look completely different Okay,
And you will have a week that you will start enjoying more and you are not aiming a perfectionist out there I am a perfectionist don't aim for perfection.

You are not creating your perfect week This is not your perfect week.
Forget about it.
No perfection here This is your ideal week right now.
Okay start you need to start from somewhere You need to start from somewhere.
So start with the basics.
When do you sleep?
When do you eat?
When do you work if work is something that is regular try to put in there the things that you regularly do and Then all the stuff that is unsure yet all the stuff that is overwhelming.
Just leave it out for a second.

So that's what I did for one and I just want you to notice that so I I write down the things that I do during the day and then at the bottom I leave myself space for How I feel for example On Saturday,
I have I weigh 89 kilos summation mark.
I was wow.
I'm getting fat.
I have to do something about it And then in here for example look on Wednesday Wednesday 10th this this was June last year.
So on Wednesday here I I use my pen.
I use this pen.

This pen has four colors black red Green and blue so you see below here that I have green stuff and I have red stuff so this day This day for example,
You see that I Got up in the morning.
And then this means that I have my daughter Eva So I was taking off Eva taking care of Eva that day then these are the things I was doing at the same time so this day I have feeling overwhelmed with the amount of with the amount of work and Then this person didn't respond and I felt frustrated and then my energy levels were really low at 2 p.

I Didn't allow enough self-care time this day and I didn't like it.
So you start making notes you start Analyzing how you feel the emotions of every day and then what happens when you do this one week two weeks One or two weeks is it's already enough So what happens here is that you are seeing the reality and this is especially important for those of you who are self-employed those of you who don't have structure Imposed on them meaning you don't have a job that is nine to five Okay,
And there is a boss waiting for you there or you have to log in and then nine to five you have to work And that's the way it does so that way you it's one less decision for you to make Because someone is already making that decision for you But if you are self-employed you are in charge of everything Okay,
So it means I have a chronic illness symptoms are extremely unpredictable.
Sometimes a little sometimes literally muscles.
So So in that case Amy like you have a very very specific situation,
Right and I'm gonna talk about ways different ways of designing your week Okay,
Because when you are designing your week So you become aware of your energy levels and then you can track your week doing this exercise Okay,
And then you have to analyze What do I want to see in my week?
Because guys there are some things that you have to do But there are so many other things that you can say no to if you don't like them Okay,
So work you can analyze do I like my work?
I may work in X amount of time.
So you put it in here,
Right?
If you don't like your work,
Then maybe you have to like make a wall of trying to find something different But that's another idea.
That's something that will come eventually but right now Sorry,
You have to design a week that you can get started with.

So other than that the rest is flexible So I have a list of the things that I have to do.

I have to do my social media So I have a reminder every two weeks for example to do my social media and then I I create the content for my social media and then It's done.
I schedule it and then that task will repeat in two weeks from now So I start looking at the things that I have to do and then I start to be more I try to be more efficient with them and How can you be more efficient with what you are doing?
So something that I invite you to do That someone mentioned like I don't want to have a week that is full of things that are not meaningful to me and guys if you are doing this exercise and you are trying to put things in your calendar and You are trying to be more efficient doing things that you don't love Doing things that you don't feel right about doing things that don't fit your show you will never have a good week because you are not being intentional and Then I want to step back a little bit here before we keep going into how to design your week Okay,
You have to get clear on what you want to see in your week Okay So,

What do I want to include in my week?
Regarding my body.

I want to play squash.
I play squash.
I love playing squash squash for me is exercise is Social time it's self-care.
It's mindfulness because when I'm playing squash,
I'm in the present moment So squash for me means a lot.
It's very important.
So I try to play squash three times a week So that's gonna go in my calendar.

Three times a week.
I play squash Then I look at my mind and say okay.
How do I feel about my mind?

I feel a five Okay,
What can I do to improve my mind?
I notice that I'm not including enough self-care time in my day Okay,
How can I make that better?
I'm going to try to do self-care more often.
So when I do that that's why Previously I allow myself some time to create my self-care list That looks like this and it doesn't have to be as complicated as this but it's basically brainstorming with yourself the things that you want to see in your life the things that make you feel well in my case I divided my self-care list in sport and exercise relaxing and fun Things I can do with my wife Things I can do with Eva and then things that take less than five minutes.

So things that take Less than five minutes.
Okay things that I can do for sports things that I can do with Relaxing and fun things that I can do with my wife Samantha and things that I can do with Eva And I took it to the next level by coloring like physical activities are blue relaxing are Orange creative activities are yellow fun are purple and social are blue So I just did this.
This is my last self-care list guys.
I've been doing this for years So don't aim to do this if this is too overwhelming I just want you to create at least bullet points of things that you can do when you feel drained Okay things that you can do when you need energy in my case Deep breathing meditation things that take less than five minutes pet my cat Negrito juggle my balls Play the diggity-doo Practice a little bit of piano that we have a piano there greet affirmations Coffee having a coffee.
Okay hugging Samantha and telling her I love her just for no reason I don't read reviews from my courses guys.
I do that when I feel drained I go to my courses.
I Take reviews and I start reading what people are writing about me and that I can tell you my energy level rise Like that,

And then things I can do with Eva guys for parents here one of the things I was facing when I when I had my daughter and Everybody was telling me it's like you are gonna have to give up everything you love because now you are a father And I say Fudge.

I Will never do that.
I will find a way to make it happen So I am the crazy dad that is rollerblading pushing her daughter on the stroller I am the crazy dad that goes to the park and sets the slackline And I'm slacklining while my daughter is playing in the playground I am the crazy guy who goes on a electric skateboard pushing the story of my daughter So I try to do activities that I can include her So I used to look I love rollerblading for example,
And I go to rollerblading adventures So I thought how can I include her?
How can I make it an activity that she can be a part of that?
We both can have fun.
I Exercise and then everybody's happy So I got a stroller that I can hook up to my bicycle And I can push with my I can run with it or I can roll away with it Okay,
So what do I do?
Of course?
I don't go one hour really bleeding and come home like I used to Now I think what does Eva like she got she loves going to Playgrounds she loves going to the splash pad.
She loves going to some stores.
She loves collecting drugs.
So I try to plan Okay I'm gonna really blade for half an hour to that destination and then she's gonna get off out and then she's gonna play around She's gonna have fun and then we're gonna get back in the stroller and then I'm gonna roll it back So I get exercise she so this is how you have to start thinking right?
I Have to cook food.
Okay,
I'm gonna cook food and at the same time I'm gonna listen to a course on inside timer I'm going to listen to a meditation I'm going to watch my favorite show on Netflix on my phone on a tripod and this is what I what I have I have the phone on a tripod and I move the phone everywhere I go if I need to and I can watch things I can watch YouTube videos I can do whatever to make that task a bit better.

So the idea here is that you are aware that you know what you want and That you have that a vision of the activities that you want to see in your week So once you get clear by doing these exercises How easier is going to be for you to create your week?
How much more clarity are you going to have working Minimizing so halfway get a framework to start difference between the concept of Early sketches and intentional frameworks to create a better life.

So basically I have it on a three-day view So if you want to see my entire week I can just say week here and then you can see my entire week here the pink stuff the pink stuff It's Eva.

So I have to take care of Eva this all those times and my wife is off So my wife doesn't have to Doesn't have to take care of you at that time.

It's my time and then the time that is not pink It's my time to do whatever I want.

Let me share about parenting guys and My wife Samantha and I when we had Eva We were facing this My wife used to do yoga two three times a day a week.
I used to play squash two three times a week We are both self-employed so we don't have a structure.
We don't have Clarity about when to do things we have to come up with that.
So our frustration was what you just guys shared.
I Don't have time for myself.
I have to give up what I love because I don't know when I'm able to do it My friends were calling me or asking me.
Can you come to do this?
And I had no idea I opened my calendar and I had no idea if I say yes Then maybe my wife was expecting something from me Maybe I don't know and then she was upset or I was upset or I didn't know So the easiest was to say I can't I can't I can't because it was too complicated too overwhelming I didn't have the clarity to say when can I meet and this is the reality for so many of my friends sadly Okay,
I barely see them because they don't have any structure because they don't know when they are free They don't know when they have time for themselves.
So my wife and I decided this is not working for me This is not working for us.
This is the sucks.
This is so frustrating.
We are both parenting at the same time We are both like not knowing when we are free when we are know who is changing Eva's diapers who is feeding Eva?
Who is making lunch?
We had no idea right?
Everything was a mess all the time every day every week So we decided to sit down and say okay Let's sit down and let's create something that we both feel comfortable with But if we do this on paper,
How do we leave time and space for new database to pop up?
So The paper is just a starting point.

It was too much transitioning.

So from this we went to this and Then we decided so these are half days and then this is because she goes to daycare,

So she was going to daycare for this a week and Then we have her one day a week plus the weekend.
So we started doing half days So when she goes to daycare One of us drops her off the other person picks her up and then weekends and and the Friday that we have her home If I do the morning 8 to 2 my wife does 2 to 8 p.
M And then the next day we change and then we did this with the intention.

So if we take the same principle to your calendar For those of you who have a DD and ADHD how likely are you to operate when the week looks like this?
Versus when the week looks like you don't even have a week you don't even know what's happening like how would you operate?

These are strategies that we are investing time in and we are going to be able to do that Strategies that we are investing time in so that we can save a lot of time in the future Okay.

She does her own thing She's alone with herself and then myself,

They night sometimes it's nice and Unnecessary right because we forget ourselves as a couple it's very easy to just let life get on the way and And that what was happening.
So we are trying to correct that that's why we Enroll in a couple's program and we are trying to do exercises.
We do these creations that to be honest We haven't done one together for months.
We normally do them together But now we are finding that finding time together.

How do you make the most of that time?

Your week and then the last thing I want to say before I go I create my week in the calendar and Then everything repeats weekly.
