In our fast-paced,
Complex world,
Gathering your attention,
Even for a moment,
Is incredibly powerful.
Begin by finding a position where you have some connection to the ground.
If you're seated,
Have your feet flat on the ground.
You can even lay down on the ground,
Whatever you are called to do.
Gather your attention in your body for a moment.
Feel your breath.
Try breathing in through the nose and out through the mouth.
You're welcome to release any sounds as well.
Allow the exhales to be long.
Now try breathing in through the nose and out through pursed lips,
As though you are breathing out through a straw.
Continue breathing like this.
Having a long exhale helps to slow down your system.
And the pursed lips also support you in releasing any trapped air.
As you continue,
On each exhale,
Feel your weight sink into the earth.
Notice if there are any places where you're holding your energy,
And see if you can release that.
You're welcome to continue with this calming breath,
Or you can return to your natural breath pattern.
Now begin imagining that you have roots growing from your body down into the earth.
If your feet are connected to the earth,
These may be growing out of your feet.
If you're laying down on your back,
You may have roots growing from more than one place.
And then they all gather together in one powerful root.
And imagine this root reaching down through whatever building you may be in,
All the way down into the earth.
Feel this strong anchoring connection.
And now sending any excess energy down into the earth for transformation,
Releasing anything that no longer serves you.
Breathe this out.
Release sounds if that helps you to release and move this energy.
Continuing to breathe and allow the exhales to support you in sending your energy into the earth for transformation.
And now begin calling in earth energy,
Drawing this up through the roots and allowing it to flow into your body.
And allowing it to spread throughout your whole body.
Feel the steadiness of the earth.
Imagine your whole body as earth,
Not solid or rigid,
But like rich soil,
Moist,
Full of life,
Your whole body as an extension of earth.
As you continue your day,
Pause and remember this sense of connection.
We are all part of this interconnected whole,
Always supported and held by the earth.
Thank you for joining me today.
