Good morning.
Welcome to the new day.
Position yourself so you're lying in your bed face up.
In a comfortable way,
You can place a pillow under your knees if needed,
Or under your head.
And start just by noticing your surroundings.
Have a gentle sense of vision coming from your eyes.
Without any sharp or direct stares at anything in the room.
Start to tune in to your five senses,
Noticing how the sheets and pillows feel against your skin.
How the weight of your body feels against the softness of your mattress.
Notice the presence of any pets or animals in the room,
Like my cat.
Tune in to any sounds you hear.
Notice the sights and the light coming in from any windows,
Reflecting on any surfaces.
As you gently close your eyes,
Notice the light behind your eyes.
Notice the taste in your mouth,
How your tongue feels.
The breath moving in and out through the nose.
And then take three deep breaths.
In through the nose,
And out through the mouth with a sigh.
Ahhhhhhh.
Each time you sigh,
Give yourself permission to relax twice as much without thinking about how.
With your eyes closed,
Wiggle your toes and fingers,
Noticing the physical aspect of your body.
Today is a new day.
Don't worry about how many hours of sleep you've gotten or not gotten.
Just trust that the amount of sleep you received is the exact amount of sleep you need to give you energy to face this day and this moment.
Focus on your breath,
Breathing in through the nose and out through the mouth.
Don't worry about any particular way of breathing,
Other than simply noticing how it feels to breathe in through the nostrils.
Letting the exhale come out through the mouth.
Relax your jaw,
Imagine you can relax your teeth.
Feel the sense of quiet in your body.
With the next breath,
Allow the corners of your mouth to rise up towards your ears in a smile.
Welcome the new day,
The sunshine,
This new moment.
There is nothing in the past and nothing in the future.
There is simply this moment.
Don't worry about any restless feelings or thoughts that might be moving through your body or mind.
Know that in this moment,
There is nowhere to go.
There is nothing to do and there is absolutely no one that you need to be.
You can simply exist.
Smile from the heart.
Bring awareness to the center of your chest.
As you continue to breathe in through the nose and out through the mouth,
Feel free to let out any sounds anytime you exhale.
And as you draw your awareness to the center of your chest,
Imagine that your heart is smiling.
And as it pumps blood through your whole body,
Imagine that smile is moving through the entire circulation,
Reaching every corner of your body,
Bringing a smile,
Bringing new energy from the daylight into your presence,
Into your being,
Into this moment.
And breathe.
You may notice that you get distracted by a sound or a thought or a sensation.
And notice that that's simply the effect of the human body keeping you alive and that it's doing a great job,
But that you can keep coming back to the moment,
To this breath,
And once again smile from the heart.
In this moment,
You are worthy of peace.
In this moment,
You are worthy of joy.
And in this moment,
You are worthy of love.
Take a deep breath in through the nose and exhale.
Knowing that with each breath,
You're renewing the energy of your nervous system.
You're renewing the energy of your mind,
Your emotions,
And your physical body.
Today is a perfect day because it exists right now.
Know that anytime throughout the rest of today,
You can pause,
Take a deep breath in through the nose,
Exhale through the mouth,
And smile from the heart,
Knowing you are worthy.
Have a wonderful morning and a wonderful day.
Thank you.
