In this meditation,
You will be using the breath and visualization to improve your health of the spine.
This meditation will help produce a deep state of relaxation,
Creating coherence,
Which keeps your body in a state of growth and repair,
Resulting in good health.
Settle into a cross-legged posture with your hands open facing upward.
Maintain a straight back with its natural curves.
With your face slightly upturned,
Allow your focus to rest between the eyebrows.
Then,
Gently close the eyes and mouth.
I'd like to begin with a quote by B.
J.
Palmer.
Medicine is the study of disease and what causes man to die.
Chiropractic is the study of health and what causes man to live.
The nervous system holds the key to the body's incredible potential to heal itself.
The spine acts as the main highway to transport messages within the nervous system.
When the spine is experiencing discomfort or pain,
It means something important to our health and can hold the information for how to heal.
The spine is the lifeline.
We should take care of it and promote its health,
For its health is a direct reflection of the entire health of the body.
Let's begin by taking in a deep inhalation and as you exhale,
Sigh the breath out of the mouth.
Allow the shoulders to drop and sink into your position a little bit deeper for this practice.
Take in another deep inhale.
As you exhale,
Sigh the breath out of the mouth.
Continue to take in long,
Deep breaths,
Breathing in through the nose.
As you exhale,
Sigh the breath out of the mouth.
Now,
Extend your exhale by pulling the navel into the spine.
Release all the air from the body by totally pulling the navel into the spine.
Breathing in deeply and exhaling fully.
Continue this practice for the next few moments.
Now,
Let your breath go.
For the rest of this practice,
Breathe in through the nose and out through the nose.
Just allow your natural rhythmic breath to take place.
There's no need to interrupt or disturb the natural flow of your breath.
Your mind may wander.
You may start thinking about other things.
If this happens,
It's not a problem.
It's not bad or wrong.
In fact,
It's very natural.
Pause,
Noticing that your mind has wandered.
Relax into the sensation of being here,
Of being present,
Of breathing,
And gently come back to the next inhale and exhale.
Let your breath be your best friend.
Let your breath be your home base.
Let your breath connect you with your presence in this very moment.
Everything is slowing down as you fully enter this present moment.
As you continue breathing,
Imagine a clear blue pool of water at the base of your spine.
As you breathe in,
Water is drawn out of the pool and gently flows up your spine.
It's relaxing all the bones,
Muscle tissue,
And fluids surrounding the spine.
As you exhale,
Imagine the water rolling down over your shoulders,
Down your arms,
Onto your lap and legs and feet,
And then off the body,
Cleansing and softening as it flows over you.
Breathing in,
Drawing water all the way up to the crown of your head,
Breathing out,
Softening and washing down over you.
The water is a fantastic blue,
Vibrant color,
Calming and rejuvenating.
The inhale flows up,
Loosening and lengthening.
The exhale washes down,
Purifying and softening.
Be sure to keep the spine in an extended position without creating any force.
Stay relaxed.
If it helps with your posture,
You can pretend that there is an invisible thread at the crown of your head,
Leading upward,
And it's being gently pulled up to keep your position in alignment and straight.
Remain calm and feel the healing liquid moving up and down your spine as you breathe.
Inhale,
Feel the breath open and expand your abdomen as the cool water rises up along the spine until it reaches the crown.
And exhale,
Feeling the breath completely leave the body as the water flows down your shoulders and off the body,
And your navel is being pulled in to release all the air.
As you continue to breathe here,
Follow your breath as it flows up and following your breath as it flows down,
Washing over your body,
Lengthening on the inhale,
Softening on the exhale.
With each inhale,
Your body is charging the water with healing energy and running smoothly along the spine.
With each exhale,
Your body is letting go of any tension for the water to take away as it flows down and off the body.
With each exhale,
Your body is letting go of any tension for the water to take away as it flows down and off the body.
Focus your attention on the breath and the sensation of the water moving up and down or moving through and over you,
Lengthening and cleansing,
Rejuvenating and softening.
With each exhale,
Your body is letting go of any tension for the water to take away as it flows down and off the body.
Now releasing the visualization of the water and coming back to your natural breath.
Taking a few moments to notice how your body feels.
Each time you exhale,
Feel your body relaxing more and more.
Just letting go a little bit more with each exhale.
Remembering to pull your navel in and release all the air out of the body.
Getting rid of any tension or energy or thoughts that you no longer need.
Allowing the inhalation to happen naturally and joyfully.
Continue to breathe like this for the next few moments.
Relaxing music for relaxation,
Sleep,
Relaxation and your inner thoughts on music.
And again,
Let your breath go.
Be mindful of what your body is feeling right now.
Can you feel the relaxation taking place?
Feeling how the breath coming into the body is gently massaging all of your organs,
Slightly lengthening the spine,
Keeping the abdomen engaged,
The jaw,
Eyebrows,
Shoulders relaxed,
Arms relaxed,
Hands relaxed,
Legs and buttocks relaxed,
Feet relaxed.
And you're just reaping the benefits of being in this calm,
Relaxed,
Open,
Clear space.
And you're just reaping the benefits of being in this calm,
Relaxed,
Open,
Clear space.
Just acknowledging whatever sensations are there,
Whatever thoughts are there.
And allowing the breath to be the vehicle that removes all of this that we do not need.
Inhale,
The clear blue water is charged,
Running up the spine.
And exhale,
The water washes down over you once more,
Releasing any tension or pain that you're experiencing,
Any emotions,
Thoughts.
Relaxing the spine even more while keeping it activated,
Restoring the body's inner balance.
Come back to a full awareness of the body.
Recognizing that awareness contains everything that we are.
Gently take a long,
Slow,
Deep breath in and then breathe out.
Take your own time in slowly opening the eyes once again.
See if you can take this quality of awareness and relaxation with you into your day and into your life.
Thank you,
