Progressive muscle relaxation is a simple, evidence-based practice that can help ease physical tension, calm the nervous system, and reduce feelings of stress and anxiety. In this guided meditation, I’ll lead you through the body one muscle group at a time, gently tensing and then releasing each area. As you practice, you’ll have an opportunity to notice the difference between tension and relaxation - and to become more aware of where you may be holding stress in your body. Progressive muscle relaxation can be especially helpful during periods of stress or worry, when your mind feels busy, or as part of a calming bedtime routine to support sleep. You can practice lying down or sitting comfortably. No previous meditation experience is needed. I hope this practice gives you a chance to slow down, soften, and reconnect with a greater sense of ease in your body.
