As the day comes to an end,
You can take this time for yourself to reflect upon thoughts that soothe your mind and body and help you move towards slumber.
You can do this lying down or sitting,
Whichever feels best.
If you're comfortable,
You might want to close your eyes now.
Pause for a moment and notice your breathing.
Allow your inhale and your exhale to be slow and natural.
Breathing in and breathing out.
This day is ending and I am ready for sleep.
I have done my best and now I will rest.
I am open to a calm inner peace as I release any stress from the day.
I welcome in comfort and peace.
There is nothing I need to do,
No effort necessary.
My body knows how to sleep.
My muscles soften as I savor this moment.
I notice the coziness of being in bed.
My head supported,
My feet extended,
My body cradled in comfort.
I release any anxiety,
Anger,
Confusion or regret.
I know that this is not the time to solve problems or make plans.
I let go of anything unfinished,
Knowing there will always be time to set things right.
I release any negative thoughts and remind myself that I do enough,
I am enough,
I have enough.
I am grateful for a home that is warm and safe and I smile with appreciation for all that I have.
There are so many wonderful aspects of my life.
I close my eyes and begin to drift toward peaceful sleep.
As I sink into slumber,
The weight of the day dissolves.
My mind begins to settle and I let any distracting thoughts float away like clouds in a deep blue sky.
I am ready to drift into deep sleep.
I let go of this day knowing that I am calm,
Comfortable and safe.
I feel my chest rise and fall with each breath.
I breathe in peace.
I breathe out tension.
I let myself relish in the relief of letting go.
I am peaceful,
Calm,
Content.
I am safe,
Secure,
Loved and supported.
