Let's just take a moment and all arrive here together.
Because really the practice is just arriving.
Again and again a thousand times a day.
Coming back.
Again and again.
In still small moments.
Coming home to presence.
Sometimes very helpful to find yourself in your breath.
In your connection to gravity.
And consciously gathering all of your life force.
Into this moment.
Kind permission to yourself to just be here.
Because what's true about you is closer than your own breath.
And it's always here.
And I invite you to allow yourself to be exactly as you are.
Some of you,
Some of us are getting cooked,
Percolated by the retreat.
It's starting to happen.
In a deep way.
The bubbling up.
And we allow that to be here.
As well as the brightening presence that's meeting that bubbling up.
Allow yourself to be exactly as you are.
Hafiz said,
Just sit there.
Don't do a thing.
Just rest.
For the separation from God.
From love.
Is the hardest work in this world.
I'm tender today.
Cheat's cooking me too.
Which is such a gift.
And one thing I'm grateful for in this moment is that I've done enough practice that my tenderness is not a problem at all.
And I could have a story for lots of different reasons why I feel that way and I don't need to have one.
It's just what's here.
But I will use it as one gateway towards a teaching I wanted to offer today based on a question I had from someone yesterday.
Who is saying that they are having a lot of pain and anxiety because they're experiencing that they're disappointing.
People they love very much because of a choice they're making in their life.
And it's a choice they're very clear about.
They know why they're doing it.
Which is a gift.
And sometimes it doesn't change the fact that it's really,
Really tender to disappoint people we love,
Or we think we're disappointing them,
Or it seems that we're causing them pain.
And the anxiety and the pain that come from that can be completely overwhelming.
A night.
Jokingly and legitimately,
I'm kind of an expert in this because I grew up in a situation where I pretty much felt like I was disappointing key people in my life every day of my life.
Just because of their own deep wounds that try as I might,
You know,
I couldn't fill because that's not how it works,
Right?
It's theirs to heal.
But when you're young,
You think like,
This is my job.
If you think I'm not doing the right thing or enough,
I'm going to keep trying harder.
And then,
Of course,
How it goes,
You know,
I chose other situations in life that kind of played out that same pattern.
So I'm very used to waking up with a sense of I think I've done something.
I think I'm hurting someone.
And it's a core pattern I've worked with much of my life.
And what I wanted to say to this person,
A few things.
That I found helpful.
As I've freed up this pattern in myself.
One is to recognize it hurts so much because you care so much.
Because you love so much.
And if you can stay with the love.
Underneath that pain or that fear.
Something magical happens.
Because all of a sudden you're not doing something wrong anymore.
You're just loving.
And my teacher,
Ajah,
Will always say,
When your heart breaks,
Let it break open.
So I could say a lot about the stories our mind creates when we think we've done something wrong,
Or we think someone's mad at us,
Or we think or a problem in some way.
I mean,
This person's blessed that deep in their core they know they're making the right decision,
That it's divinely guided,
And that's a gift.
Even that knowing doesn't get rid of the relative life conundrum of life.
My choice,
My guidance is going against the ideals of people I care about and what they think and what they want.
But if you can stay with the reality that part of why it's stirring you up so much is because you love so much.
And that that's who you are,
It's an incredible resource.
And I was thinking about that last night for myself when.
.
.
You know,
Always,
I mentioned this jokingly at the end,
But with There's moments when I answer something and immediately I can think of a hundred other ways I could have done that.
And that can stir me up because I'm also seeped in perfectionism,
Just like the rest of us in this culture.
And I'm wired to please.
And that can really stir me up and then I just come back to that sense of like,
I'm tender about this because I love so much.
And I care so much about you.
Communicating the Dharma as precisely as I can because it's the most precious thing.
I've also had the experience of having genes that were confusing.
Or sidetracking.
And that's all part of the path.
Sometimes,
But you know,
The wish that to communicate the truest thing as clearly as possible.
And that is no small thing because this realm is full of paradox and duality.
And words can never do justice to what's true.
So I want,
There's.
It's like kind of an amoeba of how my brain works,
Of like all the things it connects to.
And so I'm going to try to weave all those together today into hopefully something coherent.
Carolyn Mace,
I really respect her,
As feisty as she is,
And direct as she can be.
She's really clear on a lot of things.
She's a famous medical intuitive.
She said,
This situation has come into my life to release me.
Instead of hold me captive.
It's very much the same teaching in Tibetan Buddhism.
They'll say,
You know,
Sometimes the most challenging people in your life are your greatest teacher.
Mary Oliver said,
Someone I loved once gave me a box full of darkness.
It took me years to understand that this too was a gift.
So it's all pointing at the same thing that.
.
.
Sometimes these most challenging things or most challenging relationships are really offering us this incredible opportunity to turn toward what's true.
And to liberate yourself.
And I mentioned yesterday that when you're on the cushion and things are cooking and percolating,
If you can just really trust that it's coming up to be freed.
It's already here.
It was buried.
It was hidden.
It was pushed down.
It was afraid.
And it's actually an incredible gift that it's coming up to be freed.
We think there's something wrong when we don't feel right or when things are hard.
As if this experience of life is supposed to be this calm sea.
If you were just spiritual enough it would just be this calm sea.
And when your boat rocks,
You must be doing something wrong.
We keep thinking that.
That's not how this plane works.
And so.
.
.
Over time,
We can learn to turn toward what's hard and see how it's liberating us,
Or it's trying to.
So last night when I was getting cooked in my own way.
You know,
I can still notice that tendency,
Like,
Uh-oh,
I'm stirred up,
Or something's happening.
And then I try to think about the antidote,
But then I immediately,
Like,
This.
Be with this.
Be with this.
Love this.
Sharon will often say,
That too,
That too.
I love you.
I love you.
I love you.
And you say it to everything.
Because ultimately,
It is all us.
We get caught so often in this plane.
It's very dualistic,
The way our brains are designed,
The way reality plays out.
We often,
If you notice,
There's a part of you that's working on another part of you.
They sometimes call it your spiritual ego or your super ego.
It's really busy noticing all the things you could do,
Should do,
Should have done,
Would have done.
Why is it this way?
You already worked on this.
Why is this still here?
It's so painful.
And then there's this part here that needs to go away,
Shouldn't be here,
Should be fixed.
Problem.
And we often label that part anxiety,
Anger,
Fear.
And then you've got a whole game playing out.
And the ego loves it because it's a verb.
It wants a job.
And it's always creating this dynamic where it can help you get a little more perfect.
Supposedly.
But inherently you're going to war with what is.
And you're split in two.
So when we first came in here and I said,
Just allow yourself to be inherently in that moment,
You're dropping that.
Split Just allowing.
Yourself to be exactly as you are.
And making room for it.
And then all of a sudden it just starts.
To free up and to move.
And this person that's experiencing what they call anxiety,
Which is.
.
.
A great way to put it in a note and explain what's happening,
But I also invite you to always,
All of us,
Drop the label.
On what's happening and drop into the actual felt sense because it's usually a whole club sandwich of things.
And your awareness can be like the toothpick that goes right through the whole thing.
All at once.
But when we label it,
It's easy sometimes to do that split.
No,
Here's that thing and that thing means this about me and it's going to do this thing to me.
And then there's this other part I bear to bring on to fix it or to witness it.
So I find it really helpful when I have a very familiar energetic signature ricocheting through my body,
Which might be any of the labels we all know.
That are the disturbing emotions.
Can be really helpful to cut the label.
And just come down and direct.
Compassionate.
Ra.
Vulnerable,
Interweaving with that.
Experience.
Because it's your life force.
It's your life force.
Is in that.
Wave.
Imagine if the ocean kept trying to get rid of certain waves.
How it works.
Or judged itself for being wavy.
And yet that's what we do all the time.
So this paradox where it's absolutely true you get to have your preferences as a human.
You get to have your.
.
.
Inspiration.
Your desire.
And we're asked continuously to just allow whatever's here to be here.
And so for this person,
I'll offer this practice,
But I want to extrapolate it out for all of us today for any situation we're dealing with.
It's something I find incredibly helpful that I've been practicing with for some years now.
And it weaves into our theme of being a pillar of light as well.
And it's multifaceted,
So I'll try to speak to it.
My teacher Ajah Shanti offered a practice many years ago that I use all the time that I love.
It's called bringing the opposites together.
Into one thing?
And Again,
It's so helpful as a human because this realm is full of duality.
These opposites that we all experience all the time.
If any of you know of IFS,
Which is very trendy now,
But it's also incredibly helpful as a way of understanding and working with the human mind,
Internal family systems,
They talk a lot about parts.
And a friend of mine who's been doing energy work and spiritual teaching for a long time,
She was like,
IFS is energy work.
Like,
That's all it is.
And I was like,
I know,
It's amazing.
He just happened to coin.
Verbiage that ties into psychological perspective,
But he's pointing to doing the exact same thing we've all been trying to do for a long time in spiritual work,
Which is to bring all these parts into a coherent capital S self into a presence that can hold all of it and bring all of it home.
So bringing the opposites together.
Many of you.
Have had experiences,
And I'll use this example of this person.
From what I understand about their situation as an example.
So you might have a part of you that's very clear.
You're being called to make a choice,
A big change in your life.
Perhaps it even feels divinely guided.
It's very sure.
This situation is over.
It's time to leave.
You're being called elsewhere.
Here's the truth,
Like the core truth,
The last thing that has legs at the end of the day is this knowing,
This is what I need to do.
And you can imagine putting that in one hand and just feeling the weight of that knowing.
We all have moments like that.
That hard conversation you need to have with someone you love,
That job you need to quit.
That relationship you need to end.
And you feel the weight and the knowing of that truth.
And then in the other hand.
You can find all the parts of you that are terrified about that choice.
Are so scared to hurt people you love or supposedly hurt people you love.
I would argue that anytime you follow that deep inner guidance and follow that loving voice,
You are inherently going to benefit everyone you love.
But life is complicated,
And it's not always easy to see that right away.
I know that very personally.
And so in this other hand,
We hold all this.
Pain and confusion.
What's going to happen?
And what does this mean about me?
But I made a promise,
Or.
.
.
It's going to be so messy for these other people I love.
What's it gonna do to my life?
And you feel the truth of that.
It's real.
It's human.
And it has its own truth to it,
Its own weight to it.
And in this practice,
Ajah,
As you take these two hands and you bring them into your heart together and you just let them sit there.
These two opposites.
And just let them stay.
Bringing the opposites together.
Into the one thing,
Which is your awareness.
Your loving kindness.
The War.
Merges into one thing in your heart and you just let it sit there.
And even in that place,
You can realize,
I love so much.
Both of these hands are full of love.
And I'm bringing them together.
And when you do that,
You'll notice there's so much energy in that space.
And we try to avoid that energy all the time.
It's so raw.
It's so vulnerable.
And it's full of potential and creation.
It's like that chrysalis space where something else can happen.
And you stay with that one thing.
As best you can,
As long as you can,
Again and again.
And the mind will be like,
But,
But,
But,
But,
But,
But on both sides.
Data,
Ideas,
And you just keep,
Might have to do it again and again,
Just bringing it all into the center.
So I worked with that practice for a long time and I find it incredibly helpful.
And then this other practice that just came to me intuitively I realized later is the exact same thing.
It's just another way of looking at the same thing.
And what came was.
.
.
Over time,
I have come to have a deep confidence that there is a pillar of light and clarity and truth inside of me.
End.
Even knowing that so deeply.
As the core of who I am does not change the fact that sometimes The mind gets confused,
The emotions get stirred up.
And our tendency as spiritual beings is sometimes we think It's like that thing is pulling us out of our presence and we need to go fix that thing so we can come back to presence.
Figure it out,
Get rid of it,
Manage it.
Fix that challenging relationship,
Whatever the thing is.
And then it will stop distracting us or pulling us out of.
Our pillar of presence.
Because it can,
Right?
When you get caught,
It's like a lot of energy and a lot of motion and it feels very personal.
It's a lot of things.
And so what came to me was to take this pillar of light,
This lighthouse image,
And make it like a circle of light around me.
In me and around me.
And bring everything.
Into the center of that.
Everything.
That I didn't know what to do with or.
.
.
Felt like it was an obstacle or felt like an unresolvable issue that needed to be solved in order to be okay.
To take everything that felt like it was gone.
And bring it right into the center.
Of peace.
Right into the center of me.
Take that whole messy matrix of my life,
Which is how it is being a human and being in relationship and being in a home and being a mom,
And bring it right into the center of my awareness,
And let that hold it all.
Because sometimes.
.
.
You might notice when you're meditating and there's a particular something that comes up and it's this snarly ball of knotted yarn complexity that your brain really wants to figure out so you can be free or be at peace.
Sometimes it can really pull you in.
It's like a wave,
You're caught in it and you can just,
It's stirring you up.
And the teachings say what we actually have to do is get much bigger than that thing.
Remember you're the ocean and not the wave.
You're bigger than that arising.
Remember that there's so much space in and around everything we're experiencing all the time.
And so.
.
.
When I notice that a ball of complication has taken over my awareness.
I back up and I lean into my central channel and I drop my grounding cord.
And I might put my sphere of grace around me.
And I put a lot of light and space around that thing.
And I did that for a long time and that's so helpful because it automatically starts to break up and free this sense of solidity of this problem to be solved.
But over time I noticed that even in that practice there was still a dualistic piece of me over here and problem over here.
Something I needed to figure out or something that was pulling my attention.
And so the evolution of that has been to take that thing and bring it right into the center of me and to the center of my awareness and right into this pillar of light.
And let it be loved right there.
And the reason the Pillow of Light came to me as a way to hold it is because also sometimes.
We forget to call on resource to help us in these most difficult moments.
And we think it's up to us to figure this thing out.
And often working as a medical intuitive or in the shamanic realms,
I'll have to ask the question,
Do I have enough light for this?
Like if someone's in a really dark or dealing with entities or trauma.
It can be a real,
Like a lot of dark intensity that I'm trying to reckon with to help them.
And it can be helpful to really.
I have the humility and courage to ask in that moment,
Do I have enough light for this?
In this moment.
And if you don't,
How do you plug into light?
How do you get enough?
And by light,
I don't mean just the shiny,
Bright stuff.
I also mean the deep,
Dark,
Spacious capacity to hold everything.
So words are tricky.
You could say,
Do I have enough light?
You could also say,
Do I have enough power,
Presence,
Capacity,
Compassion?
And if I find that I don't,
Especially when it's my own personal thing,
Then how do you plug in?
How do you access my resource so that you can be.
.
.
Bravely with what is.
And so my hope is that some of the practices I'm offering you will give you a way to plug in.
To a power grid.
So that you remember.
It's not just up to you and your spiritual self trying to figure all this out or doing it.
Free yourself.
But to keep giving it over to a bigger body and keep allowing something to help you.
Find your way.
Call it your higher self,
Call it the divine,
Call it presence.
So to keep it really simple,
The practice is.
When something arises that's challenging.
Or really,
All the time,
No matter what's arising,
Can you stay plugged into this grid of light and power and presence that's available all the time?
And let that be what's holding it all.
Let that be what's loving it all.
Let that be what you bring all the messy mess.
Into the very core of bringing all those opposites together and put them in that one place.
Sometimes on the path,
Especially if you're empathic and multi-sensory,
Which I think all of you are.
The irony,
In a way,
Is as we progress on the path,
Sometimes we just feel it all far more intensely.
It's not,
It doesn't lighten.
It gets more intense.
The raw reality that we experience.
And the mind is going to say,
Oh,
I must be doing something wrong.
I thought I was going to like it.
The waves were going to go away.
And I feel them more and more and more.
And it's very subtle the way we'll start to go to war with our experience.
And you'll notice that part of you that thinks,
Oh,
There's the thing I need to get rid of because it's disturbing my presence or my peace or my spirituality or my meditation.
And if you can,
When you can.
Imagine breathing that in.
Let the wave fall back into the ocean.
And take in all the life force that we've had in it,
Because sometimes it's a lot.
And then we use these tools,
Grounding cord,
Spacious central channel.
To receive the voltage,
The intensity of that wave of your experience.
As you let it come home.
As you let it heal.
The mind's gonna keep telling you you need to go out there and fix that thing in order to be okay.
Or in order to be whole.
Or in order to be safe.
And often there are a lot of things we need to directly relate to.
There's no doubt about that.
As a human,
Especially in the relative world.
But what part of you is doing that?
What part of you is working with that situation?
A recap for this person,
But really for all of us because we all deal with moments like this.
You get that overwhelming feeling,
I'm doing something wrong.
This person's mad at me.
This is too hard.
This problem is so painful it might kill me.
I can't tolerate this feeling.
Of this person being mad at me or the fear that I've messed up somehow or I'm doing it wrong.
And there's no particular order how I suggest you do these various things,
But I'll list them again.
My suggestion is a basic order of First,
Allow.
That to be here.
And bring it into the very core of you.
However you can.
Whether that's creating a circle of light that you bring everything inside of.
Whether that's you bring all of that into your heart.
Whether you breathe it in like it's a wave.
Back into the ocean of you.
And sometimes things are so raw and so intense,
It's almost overwhelming to do that.
And then you ask that question,
Do I have enough light for this?
Do I have enough presence for this?
This is where words fail,
Because you are light,
You are presence,
You are power,
But that I that feels like it's having that experience doesn't experience itself that way,
Right?
It feels finite and pure.
Contracted so We're plugging that constricted small self back into this spacious field.
And there's a lot of ways to do that.
And I'm offering some.
Of the 84,
000 different ways in this retreat.
Things I find helpful just in the human body,
Which is ground.
It helps you come in present time.
Present time is the only place you can actually deal with anything.
A lot of the time when you're really stirred up,
Especially if it's above a 5 out of 10,
It's actually connected to something from long,
Long ago.
So it's very helpful to get all of yourself in present time.
And then call on resource,
Which helps that small part,
Usually a very young part of you,
Those young parts of us that grew up thinking we might be doing something wrong.
Someone was mad at us.
There's something wrong with us somehow.
We were powerless.
This other person's opinion mattered more than anything else.
All those things that happen.
As a young human.
Some of us have a lot of that from trauma.
To resource that small.
Part that's so scared and so alone and so.
.
.
Plug that in.
To grace,
To love.
To light.
There's a thousand ways to do that.
You'll find your own.
And my encouragement is to train in it enough that it becomes instant.
It becomes second nature.
And over time.
As you continue to absorb all these parts of you back into that,
You come to recognize that thing you're absorbing it all into is you.
And it's immovable.
And it's always here.
And it offers you this incredible blessing that no matter how big the waves are,
There's something bigger.
Holding it all.
I was working a long time with the practice of riding the waves.
It's like a thing that came to me years ago and I teach a group that has that title.
Surfing metaphors are incredibly helpful for spiritual paths.
And I noticed in my practice that.
.
.
The waves would come and go.
And I could be that very spacious awareness.
And then I noticed something very subtle,
Very important,
Was that when the happy waves were coming,
I would enjoy them.
Like,
Ooh,
This one's juicy,
And ooh,
This one feels like insight,
And this one feels really good.
And I would let those be,
And I'd really be able to make room for those.
And then the tricky waves would come.
And my whole system as a good meditator,
Spiritual person would be like,
Ooh,
That,
Like I need to fix that.
That wave is like a project.
That pain,
That memory,
That contraction,
That distraction.
And some part of me was like,
Oh,
Look what's happening.
In that moment,
I'm splitting out.
No longer am I the ocean watching,
Being with the waves.
There's certain waves I'm still trying to get rid of.
And of course,
We do that because we have preferences about what we like to experience.
And certain disturbing emotions,
Certain waves are really hard to be with.
They have a lot of energy in them.
They can be really painful.
They can conclude things we buried so long ago we didn't even remember they're there.
Or things we didn't even know where they came from.
Which I'll talk about later.
But the invitation is to just keep remembering it's all Just life moving through with a capital L.
No matter the shape or size of whatever wave.
And just keep dropping back and opening and letting that just move through you.
And the more you practice,
The more your capacity to do that grows.
And therefore,
Your freedom grows.
And your ability to show up no matter what grows.
And then your ability to benefit others.
Grows.
But inherently,
In this human existence,
There are these waves.
The Buddha named a few which were birth,
Old age,
Sickness,
Death.
And we can't get rid of them.
So the path is to find ways to keep opening to them and letting them be here.
And not abandoning yourself.
While you experience them.
And when you create that really open,
Spacious,
Capacity.
Another Irony of the spiritual path is,
And this is talked about quite a lot,
In Ajah's lineage,
Which I appreciate so much,
Is that as the bright of awareness grows brighter,
The shadow or the dissonance that was stuck and rushes towards you.
Because you are.
The light.
And everything wants to be seen.
And loved everything.
Wants to be seen and loved.
And so we think again,
Like,
Oh my God,
What am I doing wrong?
I thought I was going to get a peaceful,
Equanimous lake and I'm getting all these waves and they're getting more intense.
And it's because your capacity is growing.
To show up for it and to love it.
And so again,
That quote of,
This situation is coming into my life to free me,
To release me.
If we can just keep remembering that one thing that you are the light.
That's looking at it.
And there's room in you for everything.
And if you don't feel that way,
Because there will probably be days you don't feel that way,
Even if you've had a lot of realization.
Then I invite you to try these tools.
That can help you plug back into that capacity.
Did your arm go up,
Alicia?
Yeah.
Okay,
That's it.
It's like,
You know,
I've heard 10 minutes,
I've heard 20 minutes.
She's asking about training and how much and how long and what does it take.
There's no one answer to that at all.
We're all that different.
Places on the path and we all have different things we need in order to stay present.
So there's different ways we train.
There are many traditions that offer very rigorous training.
And they think you need to do that in order to walk the path.
And then it's interesting,
Some teachers have done all those things,
And then once they awaken,
They're like,
You don't need to do any of those things.
So the jury's out on that.
I can say it takes an incredible vigilance.
To be able to stay.
And it's unique to each of us what we need to be able to stay.
Not hypervigilance,
But there is a large degree of just.
What does it take?
And I think that raw honesty with yourself of where am I?
How am I?
Am I here?
Do I know how to show up?
And I can say for myself that I have done a ton of training.
And helped me so much.
And as I mentioned at the beginning,
Too,
Sometimes then it just becomes this encyclopedia I carry around of what I should be doing or could do.
And I got really curious about what is the thing that really helps.
When I'm in the choppy waves,
Like really,
Really brings me back.
And that's what I've been working on for a long time.
Then there's the interesting piece of,
I know a lot of people have profound awakenings.
And then they don't know how to be in this body and in this life.
With a whole other training.
In my experience,
It's super helpful because how do we.
.
.
There's a reality of like,
You can have deep experiences and deep realization of awareness,
But can you live it?
So,
You know,
Ken Wilber,
I appreciate his model of wake up,
Grow up,
Clean up,
Show up,
Because some people have the wake up part,
But they don't have these other parts.
And so.
I'm laying out like a whole vast array for you of what this means.
The most pithy and helpful thing I have heard that I think is really true is no matter.
How much insight you've had,
No matter what your life is.
It's if you come back to what you are in presence a thousand times a day.
Small moments again and again and again and stay there as much as you can.
And we can all do that.
You have to do that whether you live in a monastery or whether you're.
.
.
Driving your kids to soccer practice.
You can do that.
Everybody can do that.
And we each have our own ways that help us do that.
And help us remember to do that.
So I think,
Really,
I would invite you.
And I work with this myself,
It's almost like a heart prayer of,
Show me.
What I need to know and do so I can live this.
Not let that be your training.
And it might be quite an array.
And there's so many different teachers and so many different paths,
Right?
And they're all offered.
Training from their own experience,
From their own lineage,
And they're so valuable.
And you have to notice this subtle thing that I noticed a while ago.
Be wary of any practice that tells you you need to do that to get to enough.
Any spiritual path that's built on this idea that you need to get to enough and you need to do it this way.
Is fraught.
Because it feeds right into this project.
And so again,
It's an irony of sometimes it's incredibly helpful to do all the things.
And I'm grateful I've done some of them.
And I definitely for so many years was checking the boxes.
Of getting to enough,
Filling this path so that I could.
.
.
Have this thing,
Get this place.
And I think that's why a lot of teachers do all the things and then go back and say,
You don't need to do any of them.
Is because they realize it's this spiritual project that was doing them.
So it's very much a both and.
Because sometimes even if you set yourself up in that hierarchy structure,
You can have profound awakenings on that path and disregard them because you haven't done the thing yet that you thought was going to get you awake.
I was on a retreat.
In the middle of my nundro,
Which is a very rigorous Tibetan technique.
Path of doing a bunch of practices a lot of times.
And it's beautiful and it's very powerful.
And it has its place very much.
And in that solitary retreat,
I had this profound shift.
And I really felt this split between the part of me that was like,
I said I was going to do this all day at this retreat,
But I'm bathing in the thing that I thought this was going to get me to.
And I was like,
What do I do?
And I won't go into my own journey around that.
You know,
There's these funny moments of,
I would say,
Like,
If you.
.
.
Have a deep experience,
Like you walk in a room and it all looks like a dream.
But you thought that only spiritual yogis had those in caves?
Stay there.
Stay there,
Trust that.
If profound space and stillness opens up for you right in the middle of some yogic breathing you are going to do,
Stay there is my opinion.
And then as soon as that falls away and you need that support again,
Go back to it.
So I'm going to go back to what I started with.
The thing I encourage is to let what you love carry you home.
And when we get tossed around with all the things that we wish we were doing or could do or were or weren't feeling or.
Wish we could do better.
I think for all of you here,
You know that part of us that wishes we were better practitioners,
Wish we were more evolved.
Whatever.
It's that love that brought you here,
The love that keeps having you turn toward this true thing inside of you.
Just stay with that.
Because it's magic,
Like Stevie Wonder says.
