
Clearing Your Emotional And Relational Energy Field
"The tree ring practice": This practice is wonderful for when you feel bombarded by the world and your relationships. When you canβt tell what is going on, what is yours or not yours, or why you are feeling the way you are feeling. This practice is so effective at clearing your aura layers, and reorganizing your emotional and psychic field so you can find your center again.

I call this practice the tree ring practice.
It appeared to me as this visual energy clearing practice many years ago when I was working with a patient and I have over the years found it to be incredibly helpful to help clear your energy field,
To help reorganize your nervous system in relationship to your world and your primary relationships and your challenging relationships.
It's a really powerful,
Simple,
Clear way to clear your energy field,
To come back into your center and to find your own truth,
Your own well-being,
Your own clarity.
The first thing I want to say is that you you're never going to harm any relationship by clearing your field.
You cannot lose love.
It is the fabric of the universe.
But what we can let go of and it's so helpful to let go of is enmeshment and codependency and shoulds and projections and dynamics that we absorb without questioning them and often just the bombardment of daily relational life that we're all dealing with.
We're all permeated by so many ideas and the news and tribal beliefs and dynamics,
Whether it's whether it's capitalism or patriarchy or racism,
On and on.
We're all swimming in these power dynamics that have been present since the day we were born in this culture and they can often really affect our clarity,
Our sense of self and our connection to our own heart.
So this Tree Ring practice is a really powerful,
Beautiful way to find your center when you can't quite tell how you are,
When you feel overwhelmed or upset or irritable and you don't know why,
When you're really feeling conflicted about what to do with some key relationships in your life,
When you're feeling insecure or self-critical.
This is a really wonderful practice.
Sometimes we feel so bombarded that we can't quite tell what's ours and not what you know what's not ours.
We just kind of feel like we're in a fog and we're not sure what's going on.
So this is a really great way to find yourself again in that dynamic.
So we're going to imagine seven energy layers going out from our body.
Some people call them auras.
I'm going to have you visualize them like tree rings going out from your body.
Layers one and two are just inside of and just outside of your body,
Your physical body.
Layers one and two are just for you and the divine,
Just for you and your higher self,
Your soul,
The part of you that was born in this body and that will leave this body when you die,
Your own essence,
Your energetic signature.
That's all that's allowed in layers one and two,
Ever.
See if you can feel that for a moment.
It's often helpful to visualize it as gold light or like a pearlescent white and gold light going just outside your body and ideally also feeling that space,
That energy grounded in the earth.
Layers three and four going out from there are the space where those that you're in a healthy reciprocal relationship can be.
And we often have very complicated relationships where it may not feel reciprocal,
Even though this person is very dear to you or related to you or your child or your partner,
Your parent.
So this practice also can help clarify some of that.
Layers five,
Six and seven are for everyone else,
Everybody else,
Which includes the news and world conflicts and tribal beliefs and acquaintances and the maybe your work dynamics,
Etc.
And sometimes when we feel quite bombarded,
Or we can't really feel ourselves or we just feel kind of overwhelmed by everybody else's ideas of our life or what should be happening,
It can be really,
Really helpful to clear everything out all the way to layer seven,
Like move everybody out to layer seven,
Even your beloveds,
Your children,
Your partner,
Your pets,
Whoever.
Move everybody out to layer seven.
Again,
Remembering you cannot lose love or true or true connection by doing this.
What you are doing is clearing your space,
Clearing your mind,
Clearing enmeshment,
And then just bringing all of your awareness,
Your clarity,
And your breath into layers one and two into that safe haven of enoughness,
Well being,
Sacred value,
And clarity that's always,
Always here inside the core of your being inside the core of your body,
The center of your energy field in this first and second layer of your energy body.
And it can be really helpful to move everybody out to the perimeter,
So that there's a lot of space between you and them so that you can actually find your own sense of self,
Separate from your relationships.
I've noticed in my years of working with people that often,
This practice is so helpful because people don't know who they are outside of their relationships,
Their relationships and their roles with other people and in the world have started to define them to themselves.
It defines their value,
Their safety,
Their well being.
And that is a very powerless way to live.
Because ultimately,
None of those things define us.
You are whole and well and safe and enough,
Completely inside your own energy field.
Relationships can be an incredible blessing and such a beautiful,
Rich and often joyful dance in our lives.
But no relationship defines us,
Except the one with ourself.
And whatever you believe in,
Light,
The divine,
Your soul,
That is our central relationship.
And when that is an integrity,
And in connection,
Everything else blows.
And we can truly be ourself in our lives and in our dynamics.
So I invite you for this practice right now to just imagine clearing your entire field,
Just letting everybody move out to layer seven,
And then coming into your own center and just feeling yourself there.
Enjoying that space and the peace and that deep well of enoughness and clarity that's here in layers one and two.
Letting yourself settle there.
This space,
This awareness,
This ease and well being that's present in this space is who you are,
Who you actually are.
Just let yourself marinate in that for a little bit.
You're still in relationship with the world.
And you're still very much in relationship with the earth underneath you.
We're always breathing and the exchange of energy and life force through our breath with our world,
Our environment is always happening.
You can feel the air on your skin.
Perhaps there's noises or smells around you.
We're always in an energetic exchange with the world,
We are truly interconnected.
But this space we've created for ourself right now helps us also really come into our own center and find ourself,
Our awareness,
Our presence,
And let that be in the foreground,
Free from the roles that we get locked in,
And often compartmentalized or suppressed or lost in.
You are already enough before you engage in any relationship in your life.
Before you get anyone's approval or appreciation.
And you are most welcome to just leave everybody out at layer 567.
As long as you feel like you need to,
If you've been feeling very bombarded and overwhelmed by your relationships,
It can be very healthy to just give yourself some space and some time.
For the purpose of this practice,
We're going to explore allowing in our beloveds,
Those that we're in a healthy reciprocal relationship with,
To return to layers three and four of our tree rings of our energy layers around us.
So just start to do that.
And just notice what happens.
Sometimes I can see with my patients when they start to do that,
It's almost like they start leaning forward or away as certain beings come closer.
And so just notice that just notice dynamics.
Because sometimes it can be in our most precious relationships like our children,
They can be very challenging,
Or a parent or a partner or a dear friend.
They can be complicated to just notice what happens for you.
And again,
You don't have to bring anybody in right now if you don't feel ready.
But it can also be a really healthy exploration that as you allow these beings to come into your layers three and four of your energy body,
For you to practice staying in your center,
That you can always just stay in your center and be in relationship with them.
Both and not either or.
There can be a reciprocal flow of energy.
There can be an exchange.
And you get to stay in your own center,
You don't have to go out to fix them to help them to manage them or to push them away,
Whatever the dynamic is,
You can really stay in your own fullness,
Your own center.
So just notice that as you allow beings to come into layers three and four.
A healthy boundary is the space at which I can love you and me simultaneously.
So explore that as you relate to these people in your life or these ideas in your life.
Are you loving you as you love them,
We must include ourself,
Or we will inherently end up in enmeshment or codependency or controlling behaviors or controlling our own codependency or controlling behaviors or overly empathic energy with others,
Which is so painful.
So explore right now,
This dance of staying in your own center,
Staying self connected,
Staying in your layers one and two,
Feeling your connection with spirit or the divine or your guidance team,
Whatever you were visualizing before.
And that you also get to be in this relational dance with your world,
With your life,
With the roles that you play.
But you're always including yourself and you're never disconnecting from your own center.
No relationship we have ever defines us.
And no one is allowed in your energy field without your conscious permission.
We are all one we are inextricably interconnected.
Every being has goodness and well being inside of them,
Whether they know it or not,
Whether they're living in that truth or not.
And it's so important to also recognize that space in which we must stay connected and loving towards ourself no matter what relationship we're in.
Putting our own oxygen mask on first,
Before we engage with any other being.
This practice can help you find your yes and your no,
Your own truth,
Your own clarity,
Your own well being,
Whether you are in or out of any relationship in any moment.
This practice can also help remind you that even if the world is swirling around you and there's a lot going on,
There's challenging dynamics,
There's bad news,
It feels like a whirlwind of energy,
You can always stay rooted in your center.
And in the ground in your center.
And in the ground underneath you.
And that's how trees are so good at weathering big storms,
When their roots are deep.
And when their core is strong and vital,
What's going on outside is not as disturbing and can't take away your well being.
And you don't have to push anything away.
You're clear on what's yours and what's not yours.
And where your power is.
I invite you I invite you to practice this as often as you need to.
And it's also really okay to just work with layers one and two and not worry about the details of the outer layers.
To just consciously kind of clear your space and come into your center and feel yourself.
Put your own oxygen mask on first before you worry about anything else,
Because only then can we truly be of service and stay in our heart and stay in our clarity.
And it's from that place that we can truly be of benefit in this world.
