Welcome.
Before we begin,
Please take care of yourself first.
If you feel like you have any discomfort throughout this meditation,
Know that there's no shame in turning this off.
Grieving is a difficult experience,
And we all do it in our own times.
Grieving a loved one can be one of the most challenging phases of life.
In these moments,
Many of us feel left alone and feel like we aren't worthy of compassion and love.
In this guided meditation,
We will explore love and kindness while going through the grieving process to know and feel that we are not alone.
Love and kindness comes from the Pali word metta,
Which has multiple meanings,
Friendliness,
Goodwill,
Benevolence,
Among others.
But in essence,
Metta is an attitude of love and goes hand in hand with the practice of mindfulness.
I will say some phrases for you to repeat and,
With each phrase,
Imagine that you are planting a seed of intention in the ground of mindfulness stillness,
And we simply are listening to what arises.
With that said,
Let's close our eyes if you don't already have them closed and begin to soften the body,
Having that dignified posture where you feel aware and relaxed.
Letting your body be in relaxation at this moment.
Now begin to invite to the field of awareness,
A person that is easy for you to like,
And maybe a person that is supporting you in these difficult moments,
A person that you know wants the best for you,
Or a person that simply evokes warmth and care.
Taking a few seconds to find that person.
Stiff pride and As you begin to offer your well wishes May you be happy May you be peaceful May you be free of suffering May you be free of suffering May you be free of suffering Repeating again those three phrases May you be happy May you be peaceful May you be free of suffering May you be free of suffering One more time repeating the three phrases May you be happy May you be peaceful May you be free of suffering Notice how your well wishes Feel in your body and feel in your mind Now we move onto ourselves Knowing that we deserve these well wishes as much as that person also does May I be happy May I be peaceful May I be free of suffering May I be free of suffering Here you may include any language that feels right to you at the moment It may be May I be happy again May I be free of suffering May I be peaceful again May I be free of suffering May I be free of suffering May I be happy again May I be peaceful again May I be free of suffering May I be peaceful again May I be free of all suffering Just let these phrases rest in your awareness for a few seconds And then we will close this meditation By a quote from Leo Tolzoy Only people who are capable of loving strongly can also suffer great sorrow But this same necessity of loving serves to counteract their grief and heals them Taking a few seconds in silence And when you hear the bell,
You may slowly open your eyes and come back to your room And when you hear the bell,
You may slowly open your eyes and come back to your room
