Hi my friend.
This is for you on Thanksgiving morning if you celebrate or any holiday morning really.
This one in particular though is coming out on Thanksgiving day and I think it's not a coincidence.
Something that's been on my heart is really a quote that I've heard that I can't forget now.
It goes like this,
Maybe the amount of extraordinary things happen in your life depending on how well you pay attention.
And so this meditation is for you to get really grounded and steady in your heart so that you can pay attention today.
So that you can be here for your life and not let the negative things and people steal your joy.
You are allowed to be thankful and grateful and happy today and every day.
Find a slow gentle inhale through your nose exhale let it go.
Bringing yourself into your heart,
Bringing yourself into this moment and the you that is here this morning.
Use your breath to slowly witness all that you are.
Your breath can hold you as you arrive with what is,
With what feelings are asking to be felt.
What's right beneath the surface of you,
What's coming up for you my friend.
It's okay.
Allow yourself to feel here,
To exist here in your entirety.
Maybe gratitude really is the act of paying attention and maintaining hope.
Maybe if we become more aware we'll in turn feel more gratitude.
What is it that you can notice today within you and around you?
Even if your heart feels heavy and your mind is spiraling,
At any given moment something may reach you that instantly shifts your internal world and so we maintain hopeful.
Knowing that these random occurrences can make contact with us.
The good can reach you.
In fact the good is just waiting to be seen by you.
No matter how your heart feels or the chaos around you.
Can you feel the hope in your heart paying attention because you know the light always always finds its way in through the darkness and what a gift it is to just be here.
Pay attention,
Pay attention and grow in gratitude.
Breathe in slowly,
Exhale.
When you slow down,
Gratitude grows.
When you rest in each moment,
Gratitude grows.
When you are truly present,
Gratitude grows.
Opening your heart and your mind to these beautiful words by the daily rest.
You know what we will never experience again?
Experience again this much life left to live,
This much ripeness and opportunity,
The exact scent of the air as you cook dinner,
The smile that person you love gave you,
The light as it hits your face,
This specific sensation of softening your shoulders and relaxing your jaw,
The overwhelming beauty in this exact moment.
You know what we will never experience again?
The overwhelming beauty in this exact moment.
Breathe in slowly,
Exhale slower.
May the practice today be pay attention.
Come back to the moment you're in and pay attention.
You'll start to notice your gratitude will grow,
Your joy will increase,
Your heart will open and you'll feel this energy of awe and amazement knowing that no matter what it looks like or no matter the expectations that are not met,
We can still see the beauty and the good and there's room for gratitude always and there's room to say thank you,
Thank you,
Thank you.
Breathe in,
Exhale,
Placing your hands over your beating heart.
Can you feel this overwhelming gratitude for the simple fact that you are here,
You are alive and with a soft smile pile on three more things that you are really grateful for today.
Things or feelings or people you choose and lastly feel grateful for this very moment and may you take this into your day,
Seeing with your heart,
Paying attention,
Slowing down and allowing what is,
Maintaining hope,
Feeling grateful for the gift of every present moment.
Let's take one more breath together,
Inhale,
Exhale from my heart to yours.
Before you go,
I just want to say I am so grateful for you.
I wouldn't be here without you,
The one who listens and chooses to turn inward and meditate with me.
I'm so grateful that you exist.
I'm so thankful that you are here to heal your relationship with your heart and your mind and come back to your humanness.
You are loved,
You are seen.
I think the world of you.
Thank you.
