It's Sunday or maybe any other day and you feel the waves of anxiety, worry, stress start to pour in... If you find yourself getting swept into what's ahead and all that you feel like you have to do, take a few moments to remember to be. My friend, you can tap into the peace within you, always. Right here, no matter the uncertainty, you can still feel peace.

Hi,

This meditation is for you on a Sunday evening when the anxiety creeps in or maybe just the night before a big day or those moments when you feel like you cannot be present and your mind is pulling you into the future,

Filling your heart with fear and worry.

This meditation will help you come back to peace and rest in stillness,

Turning inwards slowly,

Closing your eyes if you'd like,

Allow your hands to rest maybe on your lap or on your heart,

And before we do anything,

Just notice,

Notice without any judgment,

Where is your mind,

Where is your heart?

Notice the depth of your breath,

Gently become aware of your body and where you might be holding on,

Holding on to pressure,

Tension,

Stress,

Anxiety.

Begin to deepen your breath,

Inhale,

That's it for this moment,

Just your inhale,

Just your exhale,

Giving yourself time and permission to land right here,

Breathe in,

Breathe out,

Feel your entire face relax,

Feel your heart open and your shoulders drop down,

Knowing that there won't be another moment like this one,

So just stay here,

Arrive here,

Breath in,

Every single breath you take is guiding you toward your inner peace,

Underneath all that feels heavy,

There is peace,

So breathe your way,

Dropping in,

Breath in,

Exhale,

Surrendering to the stillness,

Noticing how the stillness soothes every part of you,

My friend,

Instead of reaching outward for peace,

Look within,

Tap in and cultivate your peace right here,

Knowing that tomorrow will come,

And in the meantime you're free to rest here,

To sink into peace.

Morgan Harper Nichols writes,

There is peace to be found right now,

Even before the things you care about have been sorted out,

Can you feel the peace and the ease return,

Not coming from outside of you but coming from within,

Breathe in,

Exhale,

This moment of peace is enough,

You can now go live from this feeling of peace that you've created,

That you've come back to,

You've always made it through,

And so may you feel peace in your heart,

A softness in your soul,

A lightness,

A sense of freedom,

Total body relaxation and peace filling every inch of you,

Just sit with this for a moment,

The day I understood everything was the day I stopped trying to figure everything out,

The day I knew peace was the day I let everything go,

Breathe in,

Exhale,

Notice the shift,

Embrace the you that is here now,

Feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude for this practice of peace,

Of remembering what's within you,

What's always always within you,

You are free to pursue peace no matter the unknown,

From my heart to yours

This was a perfect invitation to surrender into my evening and week ahead, cease grasping at assumptions or predictions regarding what is coming next.

Thank you. I guess it's because I'm starting a new school year tomorrow which is a reminder of all that has happened in the last year(lots of ups and downs) since I started but when you said "You've always made it through," it actually made me cry. Maybe because I realized how much I have accomplished but also missing people that were in my life a year ago.
