Hi friend,
I know we all seem to live in this idea that if we are busy that means that we are enough and when we are not busy,
When we are not quote unquote productive,
We are not enough.
This meditation is to help you rest and slow down.
I struggle with it too.
So join me in reminding our minds,
Our hearts,
And our bodies we have full permission to rest and take it slow.
Go slowly and find a comfortable place to meditate,
Maybe seated or lying down,
What would feel the most restorative.
Breathe in deeply,
Big sigh.
Start to feel every cell in your body slow down and land right here.
Breathe in,
Exhale.
Ah,
You are allowed to rest.
Breathe in,
Exhale.
Noticing any resistance,
Knowing that this might feel uncomfortable because it is foreign to you.
Ah,
Use your breath to give your mind,
Your body,
Your heart this full permission to be.
Inhale,
Exhale.
Start to feel the safety and the stillness.
Whisper these words to your mind,
To your heart.
Busy is not my purpose,
I am free to slow down.
Busy is not my purpose,
I am free to slow down.
I am free to slow down.
Inhale,
Exhale.
Busy is not my purpose,
I am free to slow down.
Busy is not my purpose,
I am free to slow down.
Slow down your breath.
Inhale,
Exhale.
Feel ease in your muscles,
Allowing the weight of your body to fully surrender and land.
Feeling held and grounded.
Notice if anything comes up as you get still.
Maybe some feelings that have been asking for your attention.
What you fear when you're still is what's driving your life when you're not.
What you fear when you're still is what's driving your life when you're not.
Slowing down here to see what is going on within you,
Within your internal landscape.
Getting close to who you are.
Slowly feeling into all parts of you.
Allowing the stillness to teach you something right here.
Breathe in,
Exhale.
What insight is waiting for you in the slowing down?
There is so much to be discovered in the non-doing.
Notice how this feels to your nervous system.
Notice how maybe there's a little bit more space between each thought.
Feel how your breath has steadied.
Inhale,
Exhale.
Jamie Varone writes,
Be in the day you are in,
In the season you are in,
In the feeling you are in.
We try so hard to escape to the past,
To the future,
To try to plan it all out.
And we brace ourselves for uncertainty.
We try to perfect the future in order to avoid the present.
We think,
One day I'll be happy,
One day when I get it all right and perfect and check off the list,
I'll finally have space for my joy.
But what about the day you are in?
The moment you have right now?
Where have you gone?
Don't you want to be here?
What if you're missing the lesson,
The signs,
The magic of right here?
Nothing slows down until you are in.
If you cannot be in today,
What makes you think you'll be fully present to tomorrow?
Be in the day you are in.
What is happening for you here?
What is happening for you now?
What is happening for you now?
What is happening for you here?
What is your heart saying?
Be in this moment.
Let it be enough.
Let it be everything.
Slow down and see that your joy is here.
Your life is right here.
The future is always coming,
But you never get this moment,
This exact one,
Ever again.
Do not miss being alive to your days of joy and happiness.
While you have them,
Slow down and be here for it all.
Breathe in,
Sigh it out.
Notice what really resonated.
Allow your heart to really take in what you needed to hear.
Feel the shift within you.
Feel into the slowing down.
You can carry this into the rest of your day.
You can go slowly.
Breathe in.
Let it go.
Ah.
Slowly wiggling your fingers,
Your toes.
Maybe rolling your shoulders a couple times or rocking your head side to side.
Go really,
Really slow.
Notice how you can move slowly and transition into the next thing with more awareness,
More presence.
There's no rush.
Breathe in.
Let it go.
From my heart,
To yours.
