Hi my friend,
This is a short and sweet self-compassion exercise.
You are so worthy of your own compassion.
Bring yourself into a meditative state.
Gently closing your eyes and take a deep breath to land.
Inhale.
Exhale.
Feel your awareness move from your headspace into your heart space.
Drop into your beating heart.
This is where your compassion lives.
What does self-compassion mean to you?
What does self-compassion feel like to you?
Maybe placing a hand or two over your heart.
Feel your beating heart.
Breathe in Breathe out gently imagine sitting across from someone you really really look up to Maybe it's a family member,
A friend,
Or someone like Thich Nhat Hanh.
Tear abroad.
Sarah Blandon.
Someone who embodies.
Wisdom.
Love.
Don't overthink it my friend,
Just see someone you greatly appreciate and look up to.
Sitting across from you.
Looking into their eyes.
Smiling with them.
Maybe you gently reach for their hands.
And listen.
Imagine.
They whisper some words filled with compassion and love just for you.
What would they say?
Now recognize my friends.
Those words didn't actually come from that person.
They came from you in your mind and your heart right now.
This is how you can cultivate self-compassion from within That person you look up to is actually you.
What you adore in that person is within you.
They are only a mirror.
What other words of self-compassion can you give to yourself right now?
Maybe wrapping your arms around you,
Giving yourself a warm embrace.
Whispering to yourself,
I love you.
Notice the shift here.
Notice how this compassion has always been within you.
And you are so worthy of your gentle kindness and love Breathe in Breathe out.
Sit here for a little longer in your own love.
Your own loving awareness only when you're ready and not a moment sooner.
Find movement in your hands,
Wiggling your toes.
What a gift it is to be you and to be loved by you.
Continue to be so gentle with yourself today.
Go slowly.
Be kind to your mind.
Be kind to your body.
From my heart to yours.
