Here's a practice to become more present in your body.

This is great if you've been feeling scattered,

You've been overthinking,

And you just really haven't been living in your physical body.

At the end of this practice,

You'll feel more in tune with your physical rhythms,

Your physical needs,

And hopefully be able to access a deeper sense of pleasure and wellness in your body.

We'll begin by grounding into our seat,

Into our body,

Making sure we're sitting in a position where we really feel comfortable and safe to fully let go,

Drawing in some longer,

Slower,

And deeper breaths,

Starting to linger on the exhales,

And starting to utilize the exhales to melt,

Sink,

Dissolve just a little more into the ground,

Into your bones,

Into your body.

If you feel particularly scattered,

This is a great time to play with some sighs and really emphasize that exhale,

The sighing out,

To encourage your body through the breath to really just let go and relax.

Now is a good time to check in on your root,

On your bottom.

Are you clenching anywhere in your seat?

Can you loosen up a little bit in that area,

The area of your body that connects to the surface below you?

There's no need right now to hold ourselves up,

To clench ourselves in,

We have full permission to let go,

Not caring about what we look like,

What our posture looks like,

But just giving our bodies full permission to sink or collapse into the earth if that is what it needs.

And now a gentle exploration of where you are inhabiting your body.

And what I mean by that is,

Where do you feel the majority of you is right now in relation to your body?

Are you squarely in the middle of your body?

Are you feeling like you're more in the space in front of your body?

Sometimes,

If we're particularly stressed out,

We might be feeling like we're hanging out in the space all around us and not really in the body.

Where am I right now?

And then through intention,

Breath,

Visualization,

Or whatever other way feels natural for you,

Begin to invite yourself back into the home that is your body,

Letting all those parts of you know that it's safe to come back to the body,

That the door is wide open now that we're relaxed and grounded,

And most importantly,

Giving yourself ample space,

Time,

Grace,

Understanding to slowly make yourself back home into your body,

Feeling how natural and good it feels to have more of yourself inhabiting your physical body.

And if you feel like there are any parts of you that are still not all the way there yet,

Back into your body,

You can go ahead and begin to use your arms,

Your hands to gather all those parts back,

Almost as if you're combing through the air around you and using your hands to guide those parts of yourself back to your body.

Maybe it feels nice to gather some parts of yourself and bring it back to your head,

Or perhaps the heart or the belly,

Hips,

Legs,

Give yourself permission to explore,

Feel how grounded and solid you are.

Run through your senses or do a quick body scan and notice what has opened up and what is available to you now.

Beginning now to transition out of our meditation by turning our attention beyond our body to the space around us,

Practicing staying in your physical body while while taking in the environment around you,

Practicing maintaining that sense of solidity and sovereignty as we begin to transition into the outer world,

Knowing that your body is always here and your body's wisdom is always here to help guide all of you back into deeper presence with yourself.

I loved this. At first the silence behind the lovely voice put me off, but I added Celtic gentle harp behind it and it was perfect for me. Thank you.
