Hello,

I'm Elizabeth Cush,

Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor,

Life Coach for Highly Sensitive Women,

And host of the Awaken Your Wise Woman podcast.

And I'm so glad you're here.

This meditation was previously recorded for the podcast and I originally recorded it as a way to enter the new year feeling centered and grounded.

But I recognize that there are lots of times when life feels out of balance or we are transitioning into a new space.

And I think this meditation will help you feel more centered and grounded no matter what's going on in your life.

Take a moment to find a space and an area where you can sit comfortably undisturbed,

Where you are awake and alert,

But relaxed.

If you prefer it,

You can lay down and support yourself with pillows,

Sit on a cushion,

Sit on a chair,

Whatever works best for you and your body.

And as you settle into the space,

Just noticing where you are,

What's surrounding you,

Taking a look around the room or the area where you are,

Feeling the presence of this moment.

And when you're ready,

Closing your eyes or softening your gaze.

And let's take a few slow,

Deep breaths together.

Breathing in through your nose and out through your mouth.

Doing another one just like that.

Breathing deep into your belly and out,

Emptying your lungs and your chest and your belly.

And one last deep breath.

Breathing down into the pelvic floor if you're able and emptying the air out of your lungs.

And as you settle into this moment,

Just tuning into your body,

Where it's making connection with the surface below you.

If your feet are touching the floor,

Noticing that.

If it's your back that's on the floor and your butt and your legs,

Noticing that.

And imagine that you are rooted to the earth,

That there are roots extending from your body down through whatever surfaces there are below you,

Down,

Down,

Down into the earth,

Down to the center,

Like an old tree with the roots that just penetrate deep and wide and strong.

Roots that bring nourishment from the earth up through all the tentacles that the roots have up into your body.

And that those roots also take away and flush out the toxins,

The stress,

The things we no longer want to carry as we exhale,

Breathing them out through those roots into the earth where they can be absorbed and transmuted into energy.

And as you breathe in,

Breathing in the nourishment of the earth,

And as you breathe out,

Releasing whatever it is that needs to be released.

And maybe as you breathe in,

Saying the word nourish,

And as you breathe out,

Saying the word release.

Now taking a moment to bring to mind for the new year what you would like to release from the past,

From this past year.

Are there experiences or behaviors or patterns that you're ready to release?

Just bring those to mind.

And are there things that you are ready to embrace and embody in this new year?

And as you take this next breath in,

Breathe in what you're embodying,

Breathe in what you're embracing,

And breathe out whatever needs to let go.

Breathe in what stays,

And breathe out what's getting let go.

Breathing in what stays,

Breathing out and letting go.

Breathing in what stays,

And breathing out what's letting go.

And now imagine a white light shining down from above,

Surrounding your body.

This light is full of warmth and softness and safety.

Imagine and feel what it feels like to have this light surrounding you,

Holding you,

Keeping you safe.

And within this space,

You are held,

And your intentions are received,

Feeling the warmth and the light enter your body,

And suffusing you with light and energy and love.

And know that you can take this feeling with you wherever you go.

And as we move from stillness back to the present moment,

Back to the space where we are,

Just bringing some gentle movement to your body,

Maybe wiggling your fingers and your toes,

Stretching as you need to,

Allowing your body to move in ways that feel good to you.

Maybe taking one last deep breath together,

And opening your eyes when you're ready.

Thank you for going with me on this journey inward to find more centeredness within.

You can come back to this meditation anytime that you feel you need a little more grounding,

A little more attunement within,

And I hope you will.

Once again,

This is Elizabeth Kush,

And I appreciate your being here with me on this journey.
