Hello!
Welcome to the Haunted Tea Room.
I am Katerina Scott and let's go ahead and get comfortable.
Whether you're laying down,
Sitting with your tea,
Hiding under a cozy blanket,
Or sitting in a sunbeam,
This is your moment to breathe.
Your moment to slow down and to just settle into yourself.
Now,
Let's step through the door of your mind and enter the Haunted Tea Room together.
Welcome,
Haunted humans and monster minds.
This is your moment.
You survived the world and the dark moments and now we rise together with a cup of tea,
Your breath,
And a little bit of brain science magic.
So take a deep breath in for me and let it out with a sigh.
That,
My friend,
Was your first spell.
Here's a beautiful fun fact.
When you sigh,
Your nervous system gets a reset signal,
Like hitting refresh on a haunted laptop.
That's why monsters and humans sigh when they are stressed.
It's our body's natural reboot button.
Feel your feet on the floor.
Imagine roots growing down into the earth.
Not heavy oak,
But glowing,
Spooky,
And neon spider webs anchoring you without trapping you into the earth.
With each step or wiggling your toes,
Whisper in your mind,
Here,
Safe,
And ready.
Did you know that moving your toes or swaying while you meditate doesn't mean you're doing it wrong?
Not even a little.
Because for neurodivergent brains and ADHD souls like myself,
Movement actually helps regulate the nervous system,
Helping you focus.
Stillness isn't required.
Safety is.
Now let's try a monster breath together.
Inhale through your nose and then exhale with a little growl,
Sigh,
Or hiss.
Whatever feels natural.
Let's see how your monster wants to sound today.
So try this out three times.
Why?
Because when you breathe deeply,
You're giving your vagus nerve,
That's the spooky cord that runs from our brain to our belly,
A gentle squeeze.
That's nervous system necromancy.
It lowers your heart rate,
Soothes anxiety,
And makes your haunted house of your body feel safer.
Now let's awaken our monster senses.
Notice one sound around you.
Maybe it's a fridge humming,
A bird,
A bit of chaos in the kitchen.
My voice.
Whisper to yourself,
I hear life.
Notice one texture,
The clothing on your skin,
The air on your face,
The floor underneath your feet,
And whisper,
I feel alive.
Notice one smell,
Tea brewing,
Morning air,
Toothpaste.
Whisper,
I breathe magic.
Neuro fun fact.
Your brain loves novelty,
And when you pause to notice the little things,
You're hacking your dopamine system.
That's why mindful moments feel like micro potions for ADHD brains.
Quick hits of focus and joy.
Why wouldn't we do that all of the time?
Now where are my truly sensitive monsters at?
Because this one's for you.
Your nervous system might feel haunted,
Easily spooked by noise,
Light,
Or big emotions,
Even your own thoughts.
But guess what?
That means you're tuned in like a violin.
Sensitive doesn't mean weak.
It means precise.
So stay quietly with me now.
My softness is my strength.
My haunted heart is powerful.
And my sensitivity is my superpower.
Studies show that sensitive brains notice more detail in their environment.
And that is why you feel things deeply my friend.
And why often you're the first one to sense danger and beauty.
That is not a flaw.
It's ancient wisdom in your bones.
Imagine you're holding a glowing cup of tea,
Even if you don't have one right now.
Hold that cup and in it is your potion of the day.
What's in it?
Patience?
Courage?
Fun?
Focus?
Whisper your chosen word into this beautiful,
Magical,
Glowing cup.
And then imagine sipping into it.
Let it spread through your monster veins,
Seeping into your haunted heart and sensitive soul.
When you set an intention and say it out loud,
You activate your prefrontal cortex.
Fun fact,
That's the decision making part of your brain.
And that makes your intention stick like a beautiful spell and sends your vibration out into the world.
Take one last monster breath in,
Inhale,
And exhale with a sigh,
Growl,
Or hiss.
And say softly,
We are haunted not hindered.
We are soft and strong.
And we are ready for today.
Mindfulness isn't about emptying your mind.
It's about noticing the magic that's already here.
Sip by sip,
Step by step.
