Sometimes we wake in the night and we're too tired to fight this.
We don't want to have to force ourselves to go back to sleep.
We want just to float our way there.
Trust our way there.
What I'd like for you to do is to imagine that you're lying down on the edge of the ocean in the moonlight.
And the moon is warm.
You're bathing in the moonlight.
It's shining on your face.
It's shining on your chest.
It's shining on your whole body.
Lighting you up.
A soothing blue light surrounding you.
And as you lie here on the edge of the shore,
There's warm water at your feet,
An ocean,
Immense ocean of healing waters.
This immense ocean is magical.
It's full of minerals,
Healing minerals,
Made up of love,
Compassion.
It's soft.
It's gentle.
It's caring.
It's wise.
It knows that you've woken up and it's here to carry you back.
As you breathe,
This ocean comes and it washes up and over your body on the inhale and washes out on your exhale.
As it washes up and over you,
It brings with it those qualities of warmth and gentleness and softness and love.
As it washes out,
It takes with it tension from your face and shoulders and belly out to sea.
Each breath is a fresh,
Nourishing breath in.
Each exhale is a surrender,
Trust,
Letting go.
Inhaling,
Receiving love.
Exhaling,
Let that ocean wash down your body and take whatever you need to let go of out to sea.
After a while,
You will start to feel that the ocean water is beginning to lift up underneath you,
Lifting you up,
And it carries you out.
With each inhale,
There's a lifting up on a gentle,
Rolling wave.
With each exhale,
There's a carrying you out into its immensity.
Its capacity is so big,
It can hold you with ease so you can surrender a little more,
Become a little heavier,
Let go a little deeper.
And as you're being carried out,
You can look back at the shore and you can see that moon lighting up your home and lighting up the people who stand at the shore,
Who see you and love you,
Support you.
And from this perspective,
The things that seemed so big now seem small.
What felt so important doesn't quite matter.
And what the moon highlights is what is important,
What is big,
What is immense,
The beauty of your home,
The people that you care about.
And you invite them out to come float with you.
They step into the water and they come out alongside you.
You can feel someone at your right.
You can feel somebody at your left,
Someone behind you and someone at your feet.
Floating in this magical ocean made up of healing,
Love and softness and gentleness.
You are all carried together so that you feel surrounded.
You feel cared for.
You feel held.
And you feel peace knowing that they are held too.
And there's nothing you need to do but surrender a little more,
Let go a little more,
Trust.
It's big enough to hold all of you.
And float in this space for as long as you need to.
