Hi,
This is Dhyans here and you'll be tuning into a unique meditation session recorded live with my meditators in Switzerland,
Where for the first 15 minutes you'll listen to the theme of the session which will bring your mind,
Your heart and your energies together into a meditative state.
Then I'll guide you to go deep in a 30-minute meditation experience.
I wish you all the love,
Peace,
Happiness and awareness in life.
There were two monks.
They wanted to go from one village to the other.
They had to cross a forest.
So one of these monks said to the other monk,
Let's go very fast,
Let's go faster.
He appeared a bit more stressed out than normal,
More anxious than normal.
He just kept on pushing the other monk that let's go faster.
The other monk thought,
What's happening today?
I have never seen this monk so anxious,
Always he's relaxed.
We have crossed this forest so many times and he was always very peaceful.
Why is he so anxious today?
Why does he have this anxiety today?
He saw this monk number one always,
The monk number one had a bag on his shoulder.
He was always trying to grab hold of the bag,
Check his bag,
Put his hand in the bag,
Checking something if something is there and pulling his hand out.
When he checked,
He was at peace and he moved on.
Every five minutes he was putting his hand in the bag,
Checking and then moving on and constantly creating stress for the other monk to move faster so that they could cross the jungle faster than otherwise.
The second monk didn't say anything but he was wondering what's happening,
Why so much stress today?
They kept on walking and in the deep forest at one place they found a small pond.
They were feeling very thirsty as well because it was a hot day and they were walking very fast for very long.
So the monk number one who was always anxious,
He was so thirsty that he had to drink water.
He said he gave his bag to the other monk.
He said,
Now hold this bag tight,
Don't let it go off your side.
I just come back in five minutes,
I just need to drink some water.
So when the monk number one went to the pond to get some water,
There was the chance for monk number two to find out what was there in the bag,
Why was the other monk having so much anxiety in him.
He put his hand in the bag,
He saw,
He took it out,
He saw there was a big gold bar,
Like this big gold bar in the bag and he immediately realized why the monk number one was so much stressed out today.
So he took that gold bar,
He threw it in the jungle,
He took some stones which were weighing equally,
Put it in the bag and just held the bag tight once again just the way it was.
Monk number one came after having the water,
Immediately looked,
Is the bag there?
The monk number two was holding the bag tight so it was okay for him.
Then he took the bag from him and they both left on their journey.
Again the monk number one wanted to go fast,
As fast as possible because maybe there are thieves in the jungle,
Something might happen.
So he was going on,
Trying to go as fast as possible.
Monk number two could not take this anymore.
At some point of time he said,
You know what,
Now you don't have to worry anymore,
We can go as relaxed as always.
The monk number one thought,
Hmm,
Why?
And he just checked his bag,
The bag weighed and so he still thought why is the guy saying that let's now be relaxed and have no fear.
He wanted to check.
So he put his hand in the bag,
He felt there were stones,
So he immediately also realized that his gold bar was gone.
In that moment he realized what mistake he was making throughout the journey.
So he took the stones out of the bag,
Threw the bag away,
Looked in the sky,
The sky was clear,
Bright blue sky,
The forest was green,
He looked around the forest and all his worries went away and then he said,
Okay,
Now we can walk as you like,
We can take one step at a time.
This is the wisdom from religions of renunciation,
Of not having any possession.
This is one way.
We don't live that lifestyle where we are renouncing things and have no worries.
What is the other way?
The other way where we have things in our life and we are constantly worried whether we will lose them,
Whether they will be separated from them,
What will happen to them and we are holding on to all of those things in the fear of losing,
In the fear of letting them go.
What is the other way?
The other way is to train ourselves to practice that let go,
To have some moments in life where you can let go of whatever you have.
It doesn't mean that you throw the golden bar in the jungle,
But what it means is that you disidentify yourself with what you have and just be in the space of let go,
Be in that moment where it does not matter whether you have it or not and then you can resume your life back with what you have and continue with the way you were moving ahead before.
This is what meditation can offer you,
That space,
That moment,
That instance,
That place in life where for a few moments you can let go of everything and just be completely free of anxiety,
Free of stress,
Free of losing something and then you go back,
You can pick up your things and move on if you like.
In most cases even the quality of how you move further changes because when you are disidentified with your possessions,
With your whatever identifications,
Then even to have them is not bothering you anymore,
Is rather bringing more freedom to your life.
How does this translate to meditation?
What I notice is that for a lot of people when they meditate,
They remain on the surface and as they slow down,
As they slowly start to go deeper,
They start to lose the sense of their body,
They start to lose the sense of their mind and then suddenly a fear arises,
Oh where is my body,
Where is my mind and they constantly go back and try to grip the body,
Try to go back involved with their mind,
With their thoughts,
With their emotions,
With their plans and constantly go back and hold on to the body and the mind and they never go deeper,
They never remain in meditation for a longer period of time.
Today we are going to practice this one technique which is coming out of tantra.
In tantra,
112 techniques were created for every kind of consciousness,
For every purpose,
For every application.
This technique is called as weightless.
It will help you,
It will allow you to feel disidentified with the body,
Disidentified with the mind for a short period of time and you can be somewhat free of the body,
Free of the mind and just feel the weightlessness,
The consciousness that has no weight.
You as a body has weight,
You as mind in some ways also have weight,
The weight of your thoughts,
The weight of your plans,
The weight of your worries.
In your pure consciousness which is above the body,
Which is above the mind,
In your pure consciousness you are weightless and this is an experience which is possible for everyone.
It doesn't mean that you start levitating or you don't feel that there is no weight in the body or anything like that.
It just simply means that your awareness,
That your consciousness becomes purer and purer and your body settles,
Your mind settles and you only remain as pure consciousness above the body,
Above the mind and that feeling is almost being weightless.
When you are in it,
You feel that there is no stress,
There is no tension,
There is no anxiety,
There is no weight of anything that pulls you down.
It's like a glass of water which is filled with sand.
When you let it settle,
All the weight of the sand settles down and the water starts to clear up and what is left is pure water,
Pure consciousness.
This is what we are going to do in our meditation today.
As a process,
A few easy steps.
Step number one,
You will bring your awareness to your body and then you will let everything settle on its own weight.
So we will start with our legs,
Then with our stomach,
Then chest,
Neck,
Head.
We will go down from down to up and let every body part settle into an easy posture on its own weight.
As you do that,
You will see that your body will find a settled posture.
You will also not feel that hot as you are feeling right now.
Your mind also starts to settle.
So once your body is completely settled,
Bring your awareness to the head and imagine,
Visualize,
Feel that your thoughts,
Your emotions,
All the contents of your mind are also settling on its own weight.
You don't have to do it,
You have to allow it to happen.
You have to allow everything in you to settle on its own weight and you just watch that settling happening in your body,
In your mind.
And once you have reached some settlement,
You will bring your awareness to the top of your head,
A few inches above the top of your head.
This is in Yogic Science,
The seventh chakra,
The crown chakra.
It's the chakra for pure consciousness.
In simple words,
What this means is when your body has settled,
When your mind has settled,
You bring your awareness to the top of your head.
You try to keep your awareness on the top of your head.
Don't force yourself,
Just allow yourself to keep your awareness at the top of your head.
Once you do that,
You have slowly forgotten the weight of your body,
You have slowly forgotten the weight of your mind and out of this pure consciousness,
A sense of weightlessness,
A sense of lightness starts arising and then you will bring this back to your mind,
To your body and you will feel that your body and mind are also lighter,
Almost weightless,
Almost.
The deeper you allow this process to happen,
The weightlessness will become more and more intense and real in your experience.
What this simply means is not that you have lost weight in this hour,
It just means that you have moved your consciousness,
Disidentified your consciousness more and more from the body,
From the mind,
From its weight to the weightless in your inner being.
I'll guide you through every step throughout the process.
When you start feeling that lightness,
That sense of weightlessness,
Sit in that silence,
Allow that silence to grow.
Let that silence be undisturbed.
Don't bring in anything to disturb that silence.
Back to this story of these two monks,
Finally they reached to the village where they were wanting to go.
They met other two monks over there,
So there were now four monks in one small hut.
All of them,
Four of them,
They decided that they will now sit in silence for a week.
They will not say a word,
They sat down in front of each other,
Put a candle in the middle because in the night it's dark,
So when the night comes there is some light in the hut,
So they lit the candle.
The all four sat down.
Few minutes later,
The wind came from the window,
Blew the candle off.
The first monk said,
Oh,
The candle is off.
The second monk said,
Aren't we supposed to not talk?
The third monk said,
Why are you two speaking right now?
The fourth monk laughed.
He said,
I'm the only one who's not speaking.
Don't find a reason to break your silence.
Thoughts will come.
Maybe noises from outside will come.
Something will happen.
Let it happen.
When you are in silence,
Stay silent.
Those moments,
My talk,
Your effort,
Your effortlessness,
Your spending one hour in this heat,
All is because we want to reach to that point where you become silent,
Where your inner being has settled down and you could just for a very few minutes taste that inner peace,
That silence.
When this happens,
Let it be.
Don't wait.
It's to end.
Don't disturb it.
Don't find any reason to break it.
Let it be.
Stay in it.
Forget the body.
Forget the mind.
Just stay in it as long as possible.
If there is some pain in the body,
It's in the body.
Let it be.
For a while,
Let it be.
It will be there and then it will go away.
You remain silent.
Even if you have to move,
If it's unbearable,
If you have to move,
If you have to fan yourself,
If you have to do something,
Do it without disturbing your silence.
Maintain your silence because that's why you are here.
That's why you are meditating.
That's how I see it.
Maybe you have your own reasons,
But if you touch that silence,
I'm repeating myself.
Let it be.
Maintain that for as long as possible.
Any questions before we start the meditation?
All right.
Let's sit in a comfortable posture.
Before we meditate together,
Let me remind you that a comfortable posture is essential for meditation.

Close your eyes.
Take a nice deep breath.
Inhale from the nose.
Exhale from the nose and let your body settle.
Your back straight,
Shoulders down,
Head straight,
Face relaxed.
Bring your awareness to your body.
Settle into this moment and draw your awareness into your body.
Bring your awareness to your feet and let go of the feet by their own weight.
With every breath,
Let the weight of the feet drop on the floor.
You allow it to happen.
Let go of your knees,
Thighs.
Let go of your legs,
Let them settle on their own weight.
Move your awareness upwards towards your abdomen and let all the weight settle.
Allow it to settle towards the crown.
The lower back.
Move your awareness further up to the lower chest.
And your back.
Allow the weight settling downwards with every breath.
Move your awareness to your chest.
Let it settle with its own weight.
Come back.
Allow all the weight to settle towards the crown as you move your awareness further up your shoulders,
Hands.
Your throat.
Your neck.
With every breath,
Allow all your body weight to settle.
Let go of your knees.
As your body becomes more silent,
Bring your awareness to your mind.
And imagine,
Visualize,
Feel as if all your thoughts are also settling down with their own weight,
Thoughts,
Emotions,
Any other contents of your mind.
Everything is settling by their own weight.
Just allow it to happen.
Your mind settling down.
With every breath,
Just allow more and more.
Let go of your knees.
Your body is silent.
Your mind is silent.
Take your awareness further up,
A few inches above your head.
Just keep your awareness in the space above your head,
A few inches above.
Let go of your knees.
Awareness above your head.
Feel a sense of lightness that arises from the above.
Let go of your knees.
Let this lightness from the top of your head flow downwards as you gently bring your awareness back to your head.
Down to your entire body.
Remain aware of the weightless space in your body,
In your mind.
Stay with it.
Remain aware of the lightness,
The weightlessness.
Allow that feeling to grow.
As you move deeper in silence,
Let go of everything.
Move deeper and deeper in silence.
Remain aware and silent.
Let go of your knees.
Let go of everything.
Let go of everything.
Let go of everything and remain silent.
Let go of everything.
Remain in tune with your inner silence.
While maintaining this inner silence,
Become aware of your body,
Your mind,
But remain in tune with your inner silence.
Give awareness to your breath.
And very gently and slowly,
You may open your eyes or keep them closed and sit in silence for another couple of minutes.
I hope you enjoyed this meditation session brought to you by dhyansi.
