In this guided mindfulness meditation, I walk you through a journey that starts with bringing awareness to what is present in the body and mind. Then, I invite you to play with the contents in your awareness and to connect with creativity. In the end, we move into open awareness and silence.

Just find a comfortable position for your body.

Be kind to your body.

You can close your eyes if you want or just soften the eyes.

Now ring the bell this time for us to start and to end.

So as we sit here,

Notice what's present in this moment.

Notice maybe sensations in the body.

The points where you feel contact with a surface,

Where your skin can feel temperature,

Or maybe the texture of the clothes you're wearing.

Noticing,

How is your breath right now?

And where can you feel it?

Worker.

Noticing,

Maybe,

Sounds that are present.

And that just like the breath,

Come and go,

Come and go.

All the different sounds present.

All the different sounds present.

And noticing if with the thoughts that are passing by,

If any,

Is a response to maybe sounds that you hear.

And just keep looking,

Keep waiting to see what's the next thought.

So Everybody.

And just notice how this canvas that is your mind starts to be populated with all these different tints,

Colors,

Drawings of thoughts.

What kind of art do they paint?

What is the story that they are telling in this canvas,

White,

Pure canvas that is your mind?

What kind of colors do you see?

What kind of shapes?

How do they overlap?

Noticing that the canvas is limitless.

There's no size for it.

It's this big,

Unmeasurable canvas,

Just this white space where all colors and shapes start to create something,

Construct stories.

But just notice the underlying silence,

A blank state of the canvas.

And if you feel or see that a part of the canvas became too crowded with images and colors and shapes,

Just turn around and notice more blank,

More space of possibilities,

Of creative possibilities.

What do you want to paint?

Just allowing as the kids do,

Playfulness to come and be present.

I'm never losing track of this idea that even though you can be playful and paint whatever you want and use the colors you want,

What's beneath it all,

What's underlying all the colors and shapes is the canvas.

Without the canvas,

No stories can come to be.

No art.

No art.

Even if you feel playful in this canvas,

Notice how it feels in your body to be playful.

Notice the sensation of playfulness.

As a kid,

You can build a castle and just easily destroy it and start over again because that's the play.

That's the joy.

And there's always the canvas to be painted.

And you can choose to paint whatever you want.

And you can also choose to look and just be with the blank,

Be with this white canvas and see what appears.

Final quilt.
