Welcome to today's JAM mindful break.
JAM is my personal mindfulness method that incorporates journaling,
Affirmations,
And meditation.
That is what we will do here today.
Today we will focus on feeling strong.
Go ahead and grab a notebook and pen.
Get settled where you feel comfortable.
This session is inspired by the five minutes to a mindful you self-reflection journal.
It's a great tool for creating mindful moments in your day.
Let's get started.
Take a few deep breaths.
Inhale all the way into your abdomen and exhale pushing all of the air out.
You could exhale through your mouth feeling like a sigh releasing tension as you breathe.
Go ahead and take a few more deep breaths.
I often like to share a quote that resonates with each JAM topic.
So today's quote is continuous effort not strength or intelligence is the key to unlocking our potential.
Keep taking a few more deep breaths.
It's human tendency to focus on where we wish to improve often ignoring the positive aspects of ourselves.
So I want you to imagine a tree hundreds of years old with an amazing root system and a strong yet flexible trunk with limbs that sway in the wind without breaking.
Imagine yourself as this tree feeling strong and grounded but flexible and adaptable to whatever it is around you each day.
Go ahead and close your eyes or soften your gaze in front of you and take another deep breath in and hold it for four counts.
Then exhale for the same number of counts.
Do this for a few moments until you find a rhythm that's comfortable for you.
And let's affirm this for ourselves.
You can say it out loud or write this down in your journal.
I am strong and full of potential.
You can repeat that I am strong and full of potential.
Now you can let go of the awareness of your breath and shift your thoughts to the energy in your body.
Where is the energy in your sense of self right now?
Is the flame burning strongly or do you need to tend the fire and give attention to any of these places or aspects of yourself?
What is your greatest potential that lies within?
Take a few more deep breaths and open your eyes.
Grab your notepad and pen.
Take a few moments as you wrap up and write down how you feel.
What things need your attention in order for you to feel strong?
What do you need to tend to in order to feel your potential?
I invite you to take this with you as you continue your day.
How can you move forward with a strong sense of self?
You can pause this recording and continue to write as long as you wish or come back and add more later.
When you are ready to set this aside,
Take a few more deep breaths and return to whatever awaits you today with intention and presence.
