When you are curious, you are open to discover. You are intuitively lead to see things in a new way. Your curiosity allows you to intimately see the flow of life in all things. You sense that you are not separate from life itself.

Hi,

It's Brooks and it's good to be here with you.

Today we're going to talk about curiosity and how curiosity is one of the best tools for discovering yourself,

For spiritual discovery.

And curiosity is great because it's part of you,

It's built in,

It's this inherent device in human beings that intuitively allows us to discover something.

Curiosity doesn't follow a prescribed,

Like this is the precise way to do something,

These are the ten steps.

Curiosity is a spontaneous thing that rises up inside of you that begins to search,

To look around with a feeling of openness.

There's something really incredible about that quality that we have,

That curiosity.

And the really nice thing about it is it's within you.

It's not somebody outside of you saying,

Okay now put your attention here and then this is the next step and this is what you should be experiencing.

It's you and your own awareness,

Your own looking around with a deep feeling of openness.

And it's perfect for spirituality because spirituality encompasses everything.

These are the spiritual things and then these aren't spiritual because spirituality is the study of basically everything,

Of spirit,

Of life.

Spirit means life and spirituality means of life,

Looking at life.

And life encompasses all the experiences and all the feelings and all the thoughts.

The beautiful ones and the ugly ones and the ones that feel good and the ones that don't feel good.

The ones that tickle us,

The ones that cause pain.

The ones that make us angry,

The ones that make us feel love.

Everything you can imagine is under the heading of spirituality.

And curiosity is the tool for that because there's no judgment in curiosity.

There's no,

Oh that's not spiritual.

Curiosity is open to pure discovery.

And that's what it takes to take an honest look at your spiritual nature and at life itself.

Because otherwise we're dealing with everything that we've ever learned up till now as the basis of discovering things.

Everything up till now is all the things I've thought and believed and felt and been told and assumed and it's all collected there and that's what we move forward with.

That's the usual way of doing things.

And there's no openness now because it only brings with us the things we've already experienced,

The things we already know.

And it doesn't leave us open to discovering new things.

But curiosity lets go of the past and looks around with a pure awareness,

With a pure looking.

You could say with the looking of eyes of a child.

Like hmm,

I wonder,

I wonder what's out there,

I wonder what's going on.

I wonder.

It's fueled by wonder,

The curiosity.

And the great thing about it is there's no way you could do this wrong when you use curiosity.

There's no wrong looking or wrong spiritual approach.

Whatever you discover is what you discover.

Because when we look at something with curiosity there's fascination.

Wow,

Like you're seeing something for the first time basically.

And you're seeing things without a filter.

Is this right or wrong,

Is this good or bad?

This is very clear looking.

So something to consider and something to think about.

And I like talking about it like this because it's a very matter of fact.

We all have curiosity within us.

It's part of the machinery.

You know,

It's like when you buy a car and it has a seat heater built into it.

You know,

Whenever it's cold you just click on the seat heater.

And this curiosity is built within us.

Whenever we want to use it,

There it is.

We don't have to train it or develop it.

And it has an interesting thing about curiosity is that it rises up spontaneously.

You suddenly find yourself being curious,

Noticing,

Looking and seeing things you've never seen before.

And there's awe that comes with it too.

And awe is leaving yourself behind and expanding into whatever it is that you're looking at or whatever it is that you're considering.

So there's so many wonderful benefits of curiosity.

That's why I'm all excited talking about it.

And I wish you the best with your curiosity.

And thanks for listening and take care.

Bye.
