Good morning and welcome to the artist's morning.
My name is Darius and Wherever you are in the world.
I am grateful.
We are here now Together if you've been meditating with me for a while,
You know,
I love Approaching meditation as an experiment as a curious exploration You'll know that for me meditation isn't about feeling better,
But getting better at feelings And today's practice we will intentionally Bring up certain feelings certain emotions and if you are open to it The invitation is not to take in those Feelings But rather to just notice which you gravitate towards which You resist and push away from?
We'll explore these through statements through affirmations that I will share on your behalf and Your task if you are open to it is simply to stay open and notice What happens to your heart what happens to your mind what happens to your being a Gentle reminder as with all my meditations.
There's no right or wrong way of doing them you can always come back and do them on a different day and see what comes up and You don't need to push yourself and force yourself in you can go nice and slow Let's begin if your eyes are Open let's close them now as we begin to go inwards together Connecting with your breath using the breath to bring you closer to your heart Taking slow intentional breaths and following the breath from the tips of your lips your nostrils down your throat down your lungs Into your heart space I'm going to begin with the statements the affirmations and remember your task here is Simply to notice what comes up for you Particularly at the edges where you feel very excited or you feel very resistant one more deep breath before I start with the affirmations breathing in and Letting it go with the noise Your voice Matters your Story matters your pain matters your pleasure matters your Expression matters your fears matter your dreams matter Are you?
Willing to speak up for yourself and to stand in your truth Take a moment in the silence between songs To notice what's happening inside you maybe There is excitement or activation Maybe There is a trigger or Resistance or repulsion Maybe There is a numbness Unconscious numbing or distracting from an experience or a feeling We're gonna go in for round two I'm gonna say different statements again just notice which impact you your voice Matters Your anger Matters Your rage Matters Your laughter Matters your Sexuality matters the color of your skin matters your age matters your finances matter your Love matters your joy matters You dear artists?
Matter All of you all your parts all of you all your parts all your parts Bravo dear artist.
I Imagine there's a good chance that was not easy There is a lot I brought to the table different parts of the human experience And for many of us we consciously or unconsciously choose to hide certain parts of our Experience and I get it.
I do it myself Today's practice today's invitation was in a safe space to bring Those parts into the Sun to practice Building our capacity for all of our parts Because I said a lot up to this point with this last song I simply want to stay quiet and Just let you Feel there's no right or wrong way of feeling wherever you want to go.
