Hello and welcome to the Artist Mornings Writer's Club.
My name is Darius.
I am so grateful you and I get this time together.
Let's begin our practice.
If your eyes are open,
I'd like to invite you to close them now.
And I want to say something before we get into today's practice.
Today's practice is a little different.
I'm going to speak to a truth about the nature of life,
Human life,
Its finite nature and Shock and might.
Awaken It might remind you of how precious life is.
So let's take a deep breath here.
Big exhale out.
Hmmmm.
.
.
Softening.
Deepening.
Feeling our bodies,
Feeling your feet against the ground,
Feeling the temperature against your skin.
Sitting with a tall,
Gentle spine.
The invitation today is to return to the page.
Whatever you've been through,
However yesterday was,
Last week was,
Last month,
Last year,
Last decade was.
This is an opportunity.
To reset.
To refresh.
And return.
To the page.
Notice how that feels.
To let go of what was.
And make space for what is.
What is right here,
Right now.
Continue taking deep breaths,
Allowing whatever energy wants to work through you.
Some meditations can calm us.
And some meditations can awaken us.
Remembering.
That one day you must die.
It's intense.
It's shocking.
It's obvious.
Remembering.
That one day you must leave this earth.
Just let that.
.
.
Impact you.
I can feel my heart rate increase.
One day I must die.
That's how this human experience works.
And remembering.
That today.
I am alive.
And remembering that today I am alive.
Whatever has happened.
Whatever you did or did not do,
Whatever they said or did not say,
Whatever has been to this point.
An invitation.
To let go.
To reset.
And to return to the page.
Return.
To the page.
We don't return to get praise or validation.
We return.
Because it's our way.
Of documenting,
Of remembering.
Our time on planet Earth.
We were here.
We lived.
We hurt.
We laughed.
Our life matters.
Our stories matter.
This is an invitation.
Were those parts of you.
That are asleep,
Those parts of you.
That have forgotten how precious,
How beautiful,
How incredible life here is to awaken.
Today,
We are alive.
Today,
We are alive.
Today we are alive and we are returning to the page.
Somehow,
Someway,
We have found ourselves.
In front of our canvas,
In front of our notebook,
In front of our laptop.
We have carved out some time and space to play,
To explore.
To tell our stories.
The same.
Thank you once again for meditating with me.
My name is Darius and I will see you next time.
