Good morning and welcome to the Artist Morning.
My name is Darius and this is a 20 minute guided meditation and visualization that will help you start your day feeling more grounded and feeling more connected to yourself before all of the demands of the day,
All of the things you are expected to do,
All the things you need to do.
We're going to carve out a little bit of time just for you.
A little bit of time for you to connect deeper with parts of yourself.
From the past,
Present,
And perhaps the future.
Let's begin our meditation now.
If your eyes are open,
I invite you to close them now.
As we go inwards together,
Just noticing what's alive within you this morning.
An invitation to give permission to whatever's here,
Just to be here.
No need to fix,
Change,
Or judge.
Taking a nice deep breath now,
Following the breath as it goes into your system,
Into your body,
Into your heart.
Follow it from the tips of your lips,
Noticing the temperature of the air as it hits your tongue,
Your throat,
Your lungs,
Into your belly,
Into your heart.
As you exhale,
Just drop your shoulders,
Drop your forehead,
Slightly opening your jaw,
Giving yourself permission to access just a little bit more ease and comfort in your seat.
Softening your eyes.
Deep breath in and just let it go.
Again,
Deep breath in and dropping your shoulders and just letting it all go.
Any stagnant energy,
Any stiffness just melting away,
Accessing more comfort,
More ease.
And I want you to imagine now in your mind's eye,
You are sitting cross-legged meditating.
Just see yourself there.
In a state of calm and comfort,
Feeling supported in this place.
And I want you to imagine in front of you is a younger version of you,
Maybe five years old or so.
And he or she is just dancing,
Completely careless,
So innocent and free,
Just playing.
No concept of dance moves,
No care if anyone's watching,
Just moving,
Flowing,
Playing.
And maybe there are a few other children dancing and playing with this younger version of you.
Just watch them,
Observe them,
And feel what it's like for you sitting here in their presence.
What's it like to see this version of yourself?
It's completely free.
And watch as the children rejoice and celebrate,
Hear their young voices as they laugh and play.
Take in this energy,
Take a nice deep breath,
This youthful,
This possible,
This hopeful energy,
Breathe it into you.
If it feels right,
Either in your mind's eye or in real life,
Place one hand on your heart and just share a little gratitude with this younger version of yourself now.
Bravo dear artist.
Now I want you to take another deep breath as we continue traveling through time and space,
Holding the energy of that beautiful,
Free child in your heart as we visit with a different version of you now.
As we travel through time and space again,
This time I want you to explore and see if there is an older version of you,
Maybe a teenage version,
Maybe a version in your 20s and 30s that maybe needs a little extra love this morning,
A little extra support.
Don't overthink this.
There's no right or wrong way.
You can always come back to this meditation and find a different version.
Just see what's accessible to you this morning,
Which version of yourself,
At which age,
Could use a little love and support.
I want you to imagine you are sitting at a table with this version of yourself and you're about to have a conversation with them.
No one will know what you say.
It's just between you two.
Maybe you don't say anything.
Maybe you just listen.
Maybe this part needs a few choice words of support.
Maybe this part needs permission.
Maybe this part needs forgiveness.
I'll stay quiet for the rest of this song and just let you guys be here together.
Taking a nice deep breath again,
Sharing gratitude with this part as we get ready to travel once more through time and space,
Sending this part love,
Letting this part know that you are always here for it.
Taking a deep breath in and holding the energy of this part in your heart.
And once again,
We travel.
This time,
Dear artists,
We travel forward.
Grounding in the presence of you now.
Inviting future you to this space.
Future you could be one year from now,
Could be 50 years from now.
Don't overthink it.
There's no right or wrong answer.
Whatever is most accessible to you,
Follow that path.
Imagining in your mind's eye,
You were sitting in a park bench on a beautiful sunny day.
The sounds of the birds,
Sounds of the children playing in the distance.
And sitting right next to you is future you.
As you turn and look at yourself in the eye,
A feeling of love and support flows through all of you now.
The love this future you has for you is incredible.
For this last song,
Dear artists,
I'm going to stay quiet and just let you two connect.
I'm going to stay quiet and just let you two connect.
I'm going to stay quiet and just let you two connect.
Bravo,
Dear artist.
Bravo,
Dear creator.
Wherever you went,
However far you traveled,
Whatever you felt or did not feel,
I honor and respect you for carving out a little bit of time this morning for yourself,
For your heart,
For your human,
And for your soul.
For those of you that are joining us live at the artist's morning,
I'll put 15 minutes on the clock and give you some time and space to express whatever came up for you through some journaling this morning.
And if you're joining us on a replay,
I invite you to do the same.
Put 15 minutes on your own clock and use your pen and paper as your canvas and as a tool to express your heart.
Thank you for meditating with us this morning.
It's been an honor.
My name's Darius,
And I'll see you next time.
