Hello and welcome to the Artist Mornings Writer's Club.
My name is Darius,
And I am so grateful that you and I get this time together.
Let's begin our practice.
If your eyes are open,
I'd like to invite you to close them now.
As we begin to go inwards together.
Nice and slowly.
Beginning to take longer,
Deeper breaths.
Our practice today.
Is all about returning.
To your sacred center.
This is a place within you.
That wall.
Bring you into a calm,
Rooted.
.
.
Balanced place.
As creators,
As writers,
As artists,
As humans that are.
Alive in this era of technology and media.
It's easy to get pulled out of our sacred center.
Breathe into your center.
Long,
Slow breaths.
Into your center.
Your exhales letting go of anything you no longer need to carry.
This sacred center is the most powerful place in the universe.
You can hold your sacred center.
All things become possible.
It requires presence.
It requires openness.
Now the experience of leaving your center is very common.
We see what other people are doing,
We interact with other people,
And often two things happen.
Either we puff up and leave our center and become something we're not.
Or reshrink down and leave our sacred center and become something we're not.
Practice is simple.
It starts with conscious awareness.
Are we puffing up?
Are we shrinking down?
Or Can you return to your sacred center?
Take a deep breath here.
At some level,
You know exactly what I am talking about.
Your sacred center.
Maybe you don't know it intellectually,
But you know it.
Energetically,
Emotionally,
Spiritually,
You know your sacred center.
Practice with me now.
Practice the experience of puffing up.
Puffing up,
Becoming something you're not,
Something egoic,
Something toxically competitive,
Pretending to be something you're not,
Chest big.
Now practice coming back to center,
Back to center,
Back to center,
Back to center.
Heart open.
Present,
Honest.
Solid.
Breathe into your heart.
One more practice,
Practice shrinking.
Shoulders caving in,
Getting smaller,
Smaller.
Diminishing your light,
Muting your voice.
Pretending you need to play small.
Now practice with me,
Returning back to center,
Back to center,
Back,
Heart open,
Shoulders relaxed,
Feet grounded.
Solid.
From this place,
Everything becomes possible.
Today.
We will walk into every room as our truest self.
Today we choose to hold our sacred center.
Heart open.
Voice open,
Vision open,
Feet rooted and grounded.
Crown tall,
Open,
Ready to receive.
And let's take a nice deep breath here to bring our practice to an end.
Breathing in.
Big exhale out.
Today,
We choose to hold our sacred center.
Today,
We choose to stay in our lane,
Stay in our zone,
Stay in our highest self.
What our friends are doing over there,
We send blessings to them.
What strangers are doing over there,
We send blessings to them.
We pull our energy back to ourselves,
Back to our writing,
Back to the ways in which we are choosing to contribute through our art,
Through our self-expression,
Through our stories.
Day,
This week.
Take a deep breath in that energy,
Pulling your focus back to yourself,
Back to your writing.
Thank you for meditating with me.
For those that are joining us live at the Writers Club,
I'm going to put 66 minutes on the clock and share an optional writing exercise.
Of course,
If you're catching us on a replay,
Perhaps on Insight Timer,
You can do the same.
Thank you once again.
My name is Darius,
And I will see you next time.
