Good morning and welcome to the artist's morning.
My name is Darius and I'm so happy you and I are here today together.
Today's guided meditation practice will be on the theme of gratitude.
I recently heard an inspiring quote from Sam Harris on this idea that if you take a look around your life right now in this moment at the things,
The possessions,
The relationships,
The version of yourself here now,
All of these things at one point were a dream.
And in many of these instances you achieved the dream,
Achieved the goal,
And then you moved the goalpost further away to strive for a new goal and that's okay.
But for today's meditation we're going to take a moment to feel,
To experience,
And maybe even to celebrate the dreams you have already brought to life.
Let's take a deep breath now as we get ready to begin our meditation.
Your eyes are open.
I invite you to close them now.
As we go inwards together,
Just notice what's here,
What's alive,
What's accessible for you now.
Take another deep breath with me.
I get it.
You have ambitions,
You have dreams,
You have aspirations.
There are things you are seeking.
Maybe one day you will find these things,
You will achieve these things,
You will meet these people.
But in this moment,
Let's just slow everything down.
If you are open to it,
Just be here with me now,
Right here.
I see you.
I see how much you care.
I see how big your heart is.
I see how much you want for your life.
How much you have to give to your community and to others.
And right now,
Right here,
I want you to know there is nothing needed of you.
There is nothing needed of you.
You,
Exactly as you are,
Are perfect.
Take a deep breath and if you are open to it,
Just notice how that lands in your body.
If it lands in your body.
Now your beautiful,
Creative mind might resist this meditation and might want to think about all the things in the future,
Your to do lists,
Or maybe things in the past,
That's okay.
The invitation this morning is just to sit here with me.
To be right here with me,
Right now.
What does that feel like?
What's it like not needing to do anything?
Go anywhere,
Be anything.
What's it like just to be here with me now?
The world moves very quickly.
And sometimes it's easy to forget that right here in this moment,
Exactly who we already are.
It was a dream once.
I'm going to share a few personal reflections that might land for you.
If they do,
That's great.
If they don't,
Just let them float away and maybe find your own.
At one point,
It was a dream for me to be in a community meditating with like minded humans.
And it's here right now.
I'm going to do my best to just open my heart to receiving it and celebrating it because it's right here,
Right now.
There is a point in my life where I lost my voice.
I was terrified to speak up and share my truth with anyone.
Making guided meditations were a dream of mine.
Felt impossible in that moment.
And in this moment,
Right here,
Right now,
That dream is alive.
Are there things in your life they do not need to be big or small?
You cannot get this wrong.
They could be the simplest things that perhaps one day in the past you desired for that are alive right now.
Maybe it's a relationship.
Maybe it's a project,
A creative endeavor,
A job,
A child.
Maybe it's one minute of meditation or journaling.
The possibilities are truly endless.
Before we go into our last song,
I want to invite you to begin again wherever you were for the beginning part of this meditation.
That was the past.
And this is the present.
Let's begin again together.
Taking a deep breath in.
Are there any places in your life that you'd like to celebrate no matter how simple or large?
You dear artist are an incredible being.
You've been through so much.
And you are here now.
I'm going to stay quiet for the remainder of the meditation and invite you to allow the seed of gratitude to grow through your heart,
Mind and soul now.
You dare you dare everLaughter Mumbai right now だ stop speak up Bravo,
Dear artist.
Bravo,
Dear creator.
Wherever you went,
Whatever you felt or did not feel,
You and I and us,
We are here together now,
Right now.
And for that,
I am deeply grateful.
I have an invitation for a possible journaling prompt to get you started.
If you are open to it,
See if you can find ten things,
Items,
Experiences,
Relationships,
Whatever they are,
No matter how small or big,
That at one point were a dream,
A goal,
Maybe even a fantasy,
That are real in your life today,
Right now.
For those of you joining us live at the Artist's Morning,
I'm going to put 20 minutes on the clock and allow us to do some private,
Personal journaling.
And of course,
Those of you joining us on a replay,
You can do the same.
Thank you for meditating with me.
My name's Darius,
And I will see you next time.
